  • Solid Build and Intuitive Temp Control: A Hardcore Offset Smoker for the Backyard Solid Build and Intuitive Temp Control: A Hardcore Offset Smoker for the Backyard
Style: 941 SQ.IN. Cooking Area
After comparing the technical specs across several models, I finally pulled the trigger on this offset smoker. I’ve set it up right next to my new 12x20 cedar-framed gazebo, and the matte black finish looks incredibly sharp against the outdoor wood structure—it gives off a very rugged, industrial vibe. To help out other buyers, I want to break down my experience focusing on the actual assembly, material details, and functional design. 🔧 Assembly & Build Quality As someone who frequently takes on DIY home maintenance and structural projects, I can be pretty picky about hardware tolerances and steel thickness. The gauge of the steel here is very satisfying; there is no cheap, "tinny" feel when you tap it. The pre-drilled holes aligned perfectly straight out of the box, making the assembly process smooth and true to the manual. The wide mesh storage rack at the bottom, combined with the thick support legs, makes the whole unit exceptionally stable, even when sitting on grass or uneven pavers. While the grill has some serious weight to it, the two large, heavy-duty wheels make it surprisingly smooth to maneuver single-handedly. 🌡️ Temperature Control & Features As you can see in the detail photos I uploaded, a few design choices really stand out: Intuitive Thermometer: This is a major highlight. The gauge clearly delineates "SMOKING" (100-250°F), "Bar-B-Q" (250-350°F), and "GRILLING" zones. For "low and slow" cooks, this takes a lot of the guesswork out of the equation and lets you monitor the chamber at a glance. Anti-Scald Handles: Both the firebox damper and the main lid feature stainless steel spring handles. It's a smart, physical heat-dissipation design that effectively prevents accidental burns when you're adding wood or checking on the food. Ample Workspace: The folding front mesh shelf is wide enough to comfortably hold BBQ sauce, long tongs, or a whole tray of prepped food. Inside, alongside the heavy-duty main grates, the warming rack significantly expands the usable vertical cooking space. ✅ Pros: Solid steel construction and quality hardware; very low center of gravity for maximum stability. Clear, color-coded temperature gauge that is friendly to both beginners and BBQ veterans. Generous prep space with well-planned front and bottom storage. Good seal between the side firebox and main chamber for efficient heat transfer. ⚠️ Things to Note / Advice: Heavy Delivery: The shipping box is extremely heavy. You will definitely want a second person to help carry it and assist with attaching the main barrel to the legs. Mandatory Seasoning: Like all bare-metal smokers, you must season it before your first cook. Coat the interior grates and walls with cooking oil and run it hot for about 2 hours. This burns off any factory machine residue and builds a crucial rust-resistant protective layer. The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a rig that can handle a large weekend family cookout with both direct grilling and offset smoking capabilities, this is a fantastic value. The materials, structural stability, and thoughtful details make it highly competitive in this price bracket. Highly recommended for anyone who loves tinkering with backyard barbecue. ... show more

  • This will be the last Charcoal Grill You'll ever need to buy. It's INCREDIBLE!
Style: 941 SQ.IN. Cooking Area
I LOVE THIS GRILL. I have been a griller for 48 years. Started as a kid working in a BBQ restaurant. As an adult, Ive had many grills, several Char Grillers which I liked but they do rust and eventually need replaced. I do have a Traeger and love that but I dont like using messy sauces on it... and some of my best BBQ needs sauces that caramelize as I cook them on the grill. Makes my mouth water as I think about it. Enter my new Sophia & William grill. I needed something big. I grill for big parties. This guy has room for a bunch o chow. Yeah, Im a Navy guy. 900+ cubic inches of grilling space. That'll feed a mess o people. So Im back in business making my trademark BBQ chicken & BBQ Ribs. Oh, & this grill is gonna last me a long long time. Its a built outta heavy steal. As I assembled it, which was super easy BTW, I kept thinkin, this is so much sturdier than a char griller... hey, thats a really cool feature that the old char griller didnt have, Man, I'm gonna love cookin on this guy. Today I lit it off for the 1st time to season it. I used a lot of coal... but it has an amazing seal. I thought, will this be enough coal to last 2 hours to finish a good season for the grill? 3 hours later, I went out and Its still goin strong, coal only 33% burnt. I guess thats cuz a quality grill with a great seal doesnt need so much coal. Im gonna love this grill. My 2 cents: You will too. Dont look any further. Buy one of these if youre a serious griller and your favorites make a little mess. Every great BBQ does!!! ... show more

  • Nice little Smoker Nice little Smoker
Style: 512 SQ.IN. Cooking Area
The assembly came together pretty easily. I did immediately upgrade to a Bluetooth temperature gauge, so I can’t say how accurate the original is. My only real negative feedback is that it leaks some of the grease at the end of the barrel even when level, missing the drip bucket. Also, I wished it had a provision to attach a blower to help regulate the heat. ... show more

  • Very high quality smoker grill!!! Very high quality smoker grill!!!
Style: 941 SQ.IN. Cooking Area
The 941 IN SQ Sophia & William smoker grill is the third grill I have bought in the last three years, and it is the biggest and more priciest for me yet. I have to say, I am quite happy with its construction quality and ease-of-use. There are two main levels to smoke or grill your meats and veggies and it is more than enough to feed a party of 6-8 people for your weekend backyard gathering. The temperature for your burning charcoals is very easy to control (with patience) and once you get them going at around 220-250 degrees, clean smoke will start to fill out through your grilling chamber and out of the chimney. You then only need to add a few new charcoals once in a while to keep consistent temperature. This is a very lovely quality Smoker grill that is very easy to master and doesn’t require much maintenance. Well suited for anyone getting into grilling for friends and family. The only advice for the manufacturer I would have is to maybe include a few extra screws, bolts and washer in a separate bag plastic bag, as I did loose one of my washers : ) Update: December 27th 2025 After several month now, I have grilled many more different types of meats on my smoker. It still works great and is very sturdy. More Ribs and more Lamb Kebabs coming in 2026 : ) ... show more

  • Vertical smoker
Style: 961 SQ.IN. Cooking Area
Finally got a smoker that actually does the job right. This vertical design keeps the heat and smoke flowing perfectly, so I don’t have to babysit the temperature all day. Fits a full packer brisket no problem, and the smoke flavor comes out amazing every time. Solid build, easy to clean up after-if you want great BBQ without the fuss, this one’s a win. ... show more

I bought the grill in December as a Christmas present. Used it a few time in January and the whole grill is rusted. Although the grill is nice, it will not last 6 months. Don’t buy it unless they confirm that it is rust proof

  • Excellent Heavy-Duty Grill - Perfect for Large Gatherings Excellent Heavy-Duty Grill - Perfect for Large Gatherings
Style: 941 SQ.IN. Cooking Area
I'm extremely impressed with this grill! The construction quality is outstanding - it's built with thick, heavy metal that feels incredibly sturdy and durable. You can tell this is a grill that will last for years. The size is ideal for entertaining. I can easily cook for 8 or more people at once, which makes hosting BBQ parties a breeze. One feature I particularly love is the multiple cooking levels - they allow me to cook different foods at different temperatures simultaneously, giving me much better control over how everything turns out. The extra side space is a fantastic bonus. I could use it for corn on the cob and sweet potatoes, which frees up the main grill area for steaks. Cleanup is surprisingly easy too, which is always a concern with grills. I'm already looking forward to my next backyard BBQ party once the weather improves! This grill has definitely elevated my outdoor cooking game. My only suggestion: Please provide extra spare parts, I have lost 1 screw while I was doing the assembly. lol recommended for anyone who loves to entertain outdoors! ... show more
