  • Built from recycled military tanks, I think.
Color: Sole SB900 Indoor Bike 2020 Model
Let me start by saying, if you plan to buy this bike, buy it from the manufacturer and not Amazon. Amazon had it dropped off in front of my garage door without even a knock on the door to tell me it's here. This bike is heavy and trying to get a 160lb bike upstairs by yourself isn't easy. Okay enough venting. The only spin bikes I've used are the ones in the gym, so that's all I have to compare to. The Sole SB900 is every bit as solid as those bikes. The bikes at the gym use pads for resistance and this bike uses magnets, so it always feels like there is a bit of resistance even at the lowest setting, whereas the ones that use pads don't. I'm fine with that, I'm using it for a workout not to chill out. The lowest resistance isn't bad, it actually feels like the resistance you'd get from riding a bike on a smooth level road. Set up is actually quite easy, since the bike is mostly put together you really only need to put on the stabilizing bars, handlebars, pedals and computer console. The computer console has just about everything you could need. The console synced with my heart rate monitor as soon as I put it on, no syncing or anything was required. I have one of those chest strap monitors from Walmart so it's not one of those really high end Garmin or Polars, so if it works with this one it should work with most others. Since the bike uses a belt rather than a chain it's pretty quiet. That's a really nice feature. The handlebars are very solid. The seat is actually more comfortable than the gym bikes, but it's still a bike seat so some people may want a gel pad. I'm good without it. Now some of the not as good points, there is a slight clicking sound as the wheel spins, it's not that loud and when the TV is on I can't hear it. The wheel speed transmitter is wireless, so it requires batteries. Thats fine except that you have to unscrew the side panel to get to it. It'd be nice if there was a small door to get to it so that I don't have to dismantle anything to change the batteries. There are 6 screws and it comes right off and goes right back on, no major hassle, so as long as the batteries last a while. If I had it to do over and was about to buy a spin cycle, I would most definitely purchase this one again. I think I'm going to be really happy with this cycle. ** Update ** I think something may have gotten shifted during shipment. I pulled the side panel off and did a minor adjustment to the emergency brake pads. The clicking sound is gone and the resistance has been lighten, considerably. Still a 5 star bike. ... show more

  • seems well made and does the job
Color: Sole B94 Stationary Bike (Upright) 2023 ...
Received the bike within five days of ordering, much quicker than the 2-3 week window originally estimated. The box it came in looked like this was rolled down a hill for a couple of miles, company should consider packing these better. Amazingly there wasn't a single problem with it. Assembly was very straightforward and could probably be done without the very well documented instructions, but follow them anyway - took maybe 30min to put all together. The thing is built like a tank and the heavier flywheel, at this price range, is a plus. The few preprogrammed exercises should be more than enough for most people, but you can also create a few as well. The heart monitor in the handles, the fan, convenience of cup holders, ipad, phone, etc holders and bluetooth connectivity to the Sole app on your phone are all very welcomed. Moving this around is easy with the sturdy wheels, though can't imagine needing to move this regularly. At 6ft, was able to find a comfortable position - tilting the seat angle slightly back helped incredibly with confort. Overall a really nice device for the price. I picked up the 2020 model for $600, but there is an upgraded version for $1000 which I could not justify the difference for basically the same model with a few incremental updates. ... show more

  • Awesome spin bike; best, highest quality spin bike for the price
Color: Sole SB900 Indoor Bike 2020 Model
We have owned this bike for about 2.5 months, and we absolutely love it. I was a regular runner, but started having persistent ankle issues. I like exercising alone, so group spin classes are not my think. But, I thought a spin bike at the house would be a great way to get some intense, low-impact cardio workouts - the Sole SB 900 has been amazing! I looked at 5-6 options - and did a lot of online research. The Sole SB900 is often referenced as a great, solid bike for the money. I can't agree more. I am using it 3 days a week for workouts between 40-60 minutes in length. My wife has started spinning on the bike as well - and she loves it too. She now uses it about 2-3 times per week - so together, we are using it almost daily. Very happy with this purchase. The bike is very easy to assemble. It would be helpful to have a second person with you just to hold it or position it while you attach the floor supports. The computer is pretty basic - it will show you time, MPH (or kmh), estimated distance, RMPs, and estimated calorie burn. I purchased a Polar H10 Heart Rate monitor (also from Amazon), and it works flawlessly: this H10 paired automatically with the bike's computer, and I can use the same HR monitor to pais with the Polar Beat app on my Android Phone. For the most part, the bike is very quiet. Occasionally, I will hear a clicking sound - but it only lasts for a few seconds at a time. I can't seem to replicate it or cause the sound doing anything specific on the bike. The bike is solid and sturdy. The seat is REALLY comfortable (for a bike). And the handlebars are solid and comfortable. For maintenance, I just wipe down the frame with a damp towel after each workout - and the directions say to wipe down the side of the flywheel with WD-40 once a week (which I do). The tablet holder is nice - I usually just put my phone there to view my heart rate on the Polar Beat app. Highly recommend. ... show more
