This seems to help my AC start up more easily. My only down vote is the sheer size of the thing and the fact that it only uses the 50 amp plugs, making me use an adapter on both ends to use with the 30 amp system. Update: With this in the circuit, the AC skips when the microwave starts, which is very hard on the compressor. Without the SoftStart, the AC never hesitates at all. I don't know, but I don't think it works at all and I will not tolerate it making my AC act up. ... show more

My Coleman Mach A/C hit like a hammer on my 4500W inverter generator. The generator had enough running power, but the massive startup surge caused a brief "blip" that reset my sensitive Starlink and smart TV every single time. After plugging in the SoftStartUp, the difference is night and day. No more roof creaking from the violent kick-on. My A/C starts smooth and quiet. My Starlink works too. Worth the cost and effort. Used it on my 2024 fifth wheel’s front low-profile Furrion 13k AC - not the Cube. Before: every compressor start slammed the roof with a loud “thud” and pulled over 33A inrush—making dual-AC use on 30A service nearly impossible.     • Heads Up Using With Predator 9500 Inverter Gens
I have four 50A trailers each with two 13.5 BTU rooftop AC units. Each trailer is powered by a Predator 9500 inverter gen. The predators have a 120/240v 30A socket. All the hype says this soft start unit should work great with this set up. WRONG! It worked with only one of my Predators. The other three it actually INCREASED THE LOAD on the gens tripping the breaker as soon as the second AC was turned on. I talked to their very helpful and knowledgeable support guy Danny. He explained some gens put out a frequency that isn't compatible with these soft start units. Heads up if you plan to use this with one of these Predator gens. ... show more

    • Will not work for two ac units on different power legs if not on true 240v
While it does drop the starting amps for 2 ac's, it will not work on parrelled generators that are 120v only as the unit is looking for a true 240v, better off getting a softstart for each ac and you shouldn't have a problem....you guys may want to add that into your sales pitch!
