  • Love my SoftstartUp
Great product, does everything as promised.

  • Heads Up Using With Predator 9500 Inverter Gens
I have four 50A trailers each with two 13.5 BTU rooftop AC units. Each trailer is powered by a Predator 9500 inverter gen. The predators have a 120/240v 30A socket. All the hype says this soft start unit should work great with this set up. WRONG! It worked with only one of my Predators. The other three it actually INCREASED THE LOAD on the gens tripping the breaker as soon as the second AC was turned on. I talked to their very helpful and knowledgeable support guy Danny. He explained some gens put out a frequency that isn't compatible with these soft start units. Heads up if you plan to use this with one of these Predator gens. ... show more

  • WOW— big drop in inrush current!
Used it on my 2024 fifth wheel’s front low-profile Furrion 13k AC - not the Cube. Before: every compressor start slammed the roof with a loud “thud” and pulled over 33A inrush—making dual-AC use on 30A service nearly impossible. After plugging in the SSUP, super-smooth, quiet startup with less inrush. No more waking up to the thud. Excited for hot-weather camping without the noise or power ... show more

  • 2 ac’s on 30 amp service
Works great! I can run 2 roof ac’s (15k btu and 13.5k btu) on 30amp

  • DOES NOT WORK AS DESCRIBED!!!
Paper weight - this unit does absolutely nothing. Actually makes the compressor cycle on and off rapidly, which will cause damage! Have tried using on multiple generators of all sizes, up to a 10k - this is only trying to run one AC at a time - when you try two, it trips the overload on generator. As others have said - this thing is a paperweight, and I'm out of return window as well. Wish I would have read the reviews better Before purchasing! ... show more

  • Easy plug-in soft starter—great in concept, but pay close attention
This SoftStartUp unit promised to be the perfect plug‑and‑play solution for running multiple RV A/C units and appliances on a single power source. No tools, no wiring: just plug it in. I loved that idea immediately. It also includes a handy 50A‑to‑30A adapter, which is a nice bonus. The core tech is solid. It cuts the startup current nearly in half, easing the power surge and helping preserve the compressor while protecting your RV’s circuits. Plus, it’s water- and fire-resistant and made in the USA. All things I love to support, especially for travel. Where it falls short is in real-world reliability. A few users have mentioned frequent trips or cutoff issues, particularly when running two A/Cs off limited power. That makes me nervous about depending on it during hot weather or overnight, but you have to be realistic with something like this, at this price point, and with power capabilities. On the bright side, for RVers without a built-in soft start or automatic transfer switch, it does what I hoped; it simplifies setup, eases strain on RV electrical, and eliminates a wiring job. If it works smoothly in your setup, it could be exactly what you want. Overall, I’d say it’s a fair value, especially with no installation fuss, but be prepared for potential quirks depending on your RV’s electrical demand. Test it thoroughly before relying on it. ... show more

Easy to use and we were able run both air conditioners with no problems.

  • Will not work for two ac units on different power legs if not on true 240v
While it does drop the starting amps for 2 ac's, it will not work on parrelled generators that are 120v only as the unit is looking for a true 240v, better off getting a softstart for each ac and you shouldn't have a problem....you guys may want to add that into your sales pitch!
