Updated 5/1/25: I was able to complete the AC unit install yesterday and here are my first impressions after using it for one whole day. Installation: The install was fairly straight forward for someone who has previously replaced an RV AC unit. The only interesting thing I found was that the US standard AC/roof vent opening for RV’s is 14” x 14”. This unit requires a 14.25” x 14.25” opening, at least in the ceiling, plus a 12 VDC connection in addition to the standard 120vAC power. Since I was replacing an old Dometic Penguin unit, the standard openings were already there. I did need to enlarge the ceiling opening a bit and add the 12VDC power in order to get the air box to seat correctly. The Turbro unit also weighted about 35 pounds more than the old Dometic unit, so it was a bit of a chore just getting it up on the roof. (Took 3 people and a rope). Features - Unit has all of the following: Air Conditioner, Heat pump, 3 speed Fan, Dehumidifier, Remote control, Digital display on air box, WiFi connection, Mobile app, Mood lighting, Sleep & Timer functions Usage and functions: Cons: The unit has no controls directly on the air box and must be turned on using either the remote or the app. The air box display has no option to adjust the brightness and it is VERY bright. Even while off, the unit continues to illuminate the room with the power and WiFi indicators. The Mood lighting only has white, blue and yellow colors available - wish it had a lot more options like red or purple, etc. Instructions for connecting to WiFi using the Mobile App were confusing and unclear, but I eventually figured it out. Pros: Unit is far quieter than previous, 30-year old AC unit The remote is easy to use and well illuminated while using. The Mobile App is a game changer. I can now see what temp it is in the RV while we are away and remotely turn on the AC unit. The app even lets you set up “Scenes” for home automation using an “if this, then that” process, such as…. If the internal temp gets to 80 degrees F, then turn on the AC with a setting of 75 degrees F. If the internal RV temp reaches 55 degrees F, then turn on the heat to 67 degrees. I love it. The AC blows cold and the heat blows hot. Wait and see items: The filter seems much smaller than other RV AC filters I am used to, so I might be cleaning it more often than the old ones. I ordered some colored stage light gel filters that I will try to place over the digital display to change it from BRIGHT white to something more pleasing and hopefully less detrimental to my sleep. Packages arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Well packaged and no damage to packaging or unit, which surprised me when I saw the UPS driver flipping the large box end-over-end to move it to my house, instead of using a dolly

Bad. From start to finish. What an ordeal I’ve had with this company and unit. Unit came cracked, banged up and unusable, had to pay someone to help put it on, tech saw it was too damaged and would cause harm, he contacts company, they said just use it, tech said legally he could not install, company said mail it back and they’d mail a new one out but couldn’t guarantee it would be any better, gave no money back to compensate for having to pay a tech to come out 3 times to install, uninstall, install again. Left a huge hole in my roof for weeks. Through the storms and the heat it was miserable. Then new unit comes, not the same one, worked ok but very weak, very very VERY loud. Only barely cools half of my camper and not even well at all. Only worked for about 3 weeks maybe and now is not working. Came home from work to the unit not working and my dogs were heat stroked inside its summer in Florida in a camper with no working ac. So don’t use this company or unit, it will cost you a lot of money and grief and sweat and muscle that shouldn’t be.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👁️ HIGHLY RECOMMEND! First I must mention EXCELLENT customer service. I guess I didn’t read that the AC would come in 2 separate boxes the outside unit in one and the inside unit and another because I received the inside unit on time and immediately contacted the seller because UPS put delivered well they only delivered half or as I was thinking that was it. So I contacted them because I did not have another tracking number for the rooftop unit. They responded very quickly giving me the tracking number and did received it the next day.… Panicked a little I guess. Installation was very quick and easy after I remove my dish bubble on top and then take the cover and fan out. It is a perfect fit. (took the fan in kitchen out to put this) so I now have a 3 ac on the roof. I work away from home and this is my home. The other two just weren’t keeping up I had to add in a portable unit that vents out the window and took up so much space and had one issue after another with it I bit the bullet. After I got it up and running it started cooling down almost IMMEDIATELY to where I unplugged my portable 14,000 btu roll around. It has gone from 97° because I did have the roof opened up and had the other AC’s off till I wired it in but in 36 hours give or take I’m down to 75°° and I have never had it that cool in here before. Especially when working in the Texas and Arkansas heat in a tin box. Very satisfied and extremely happy. Great value for the $$$ can’t tell you on the energy efficiency but I’m sure it’s gonna be better than that roll around. It’s pretty quiet, quieter than the 2 originals and puts out more air and some really cold air too. If you’re on the fence about getting one… Go for it you won’t be sorry.

Let me start off by saying the unit works well. The negatives are it's not quiet at all even on low speeds, the seal that came with the unit was too thick, therefore the bolts were not long enough. I ordered a CAMCO seal that worked. The compressor seems to cycle a lot. The temperature sensor inside the unit doesn't seem to be accurate, causing the compressor to cycle.

Used this 15,000 Turbro AC to replace the vent in my 2000 Winnebago 35u motorhome, had to run AC power to it but I was able to use the 12volt that originally powered the fan, for the 12v that powers the control and led lights on the Turbro AIr cont. Air conditioner installed was much easier than other brands I have installed in the past. Love the ability to control it from anywhere as long as it has wifi connection. Remote control is great for use when I am in bed and don’t want to get up to change settings. It is full of great features and even has heat that is pre installed. Has timer functions, Auto and manual control functions. I also installed the Turbro soft starter to this AC which is a great addition. Their customer service is exceptional. I would highly recommend Turbro products, as we are loving ours, keeping us cool in the 100 degree Florida temperatures.
