  • Pros and Cons
Color: Silver
I like this lock, after evaluating through many other competitors I chose this one, however, my husband is still judging it from his perspective. Below is pros & cons: Why I like it? Last night our old password e-lock battery died without any notice, my mom and I were locked out from house in a dark and cold night, with grocery’s on our hands. We were in a big trouble not able to get in our own house. After this incident, I realize I want a lock with key features: 1. Backup physical key available. 2. Battery level notice 3. Easy to replace battery. 4. Password button is solid - our old one the button started to disappear after 5 years. 5. Flexible ways to change password. 6. Morden quality design with a handle level. For the fingerprint functions, I am not relying on it much because living in a suburb, I know it creates a huge security issue that someone could knock you out and force your fingerprint to open the door. However, I still bought one with this feature because I may change my mind. After getting it and install it with easy, I am happy that it has many ways of opening the door: swip cards. Especially happy that we can have recording of the door opening time. I feel the flexibility of this app gave us. Now the Cons: One big issue we found it we disabled the fingerprint functions, however it still detects fingerprint. And the lock has an auto-lock after several failures. We didn’t find anywhere to change this auto-lock after failure. So what we believe is the other security bug here: it is very easy to put wrong fingerprints for three times and trigger the door locked. There should be a way to disable either the auto-lock functions or fingerprint reading functions. We may even return this if this function cause us not be able to enter the house when we need to rush in, but the fingerprint issues locked the door. Image if there is a fire, and we were locked out. We can gave our codes to firefighters, but any dummy tried their fingerprints on our door may locked the door! Indeed, the self-lock function will be reset after a few minutes. But in emergency, every minute counts. I also read other reviewers said the fingureprints don’t read and they were locked out. The biggest issues are this is a great product, it tries to do too much. Like the guest swipe cards, because if our guests lost the swipe cards, it may be hard to get a replacement.. for the reasons above, my husband is more inclined to get the Google one which does one thing but it works. However, I choose to stay with this, for the biggest pros: The PRICE is great! ... show more

  • Easy install and to use
Color: Black
I've installed a few door knows over the years and this one is one of the easiest I've ever installed. The steps are labeled on every bag, plus a large easy to read instruction sheet. It took about 20 minutes to install and another 10 minutes to download and register on the app. The app is pretty easy after your notice the register button is on the top right, instead of being under the user name and password. . Everything after that is fast and easy. We will buy another in the near future. This is a great product at an even better price point. There are non smart locks for more money. You can't beat what you get for the money. You can enter by: eCard (includes 2) Physical Key (includes 2) Key Pad Or By the app, remotely ... show more

  • Great smart-ish lock
Color: Silver
It's been 2 months since installing the Sifely Smart Lock. We installed it on our Pantry door to control my kids from feasting on everything without permission. We tried some keyless entry locks in the past that relied on typing in a code but the kids would shoulder-surf and figure it out. We configured the Sifely to use the fingerprint scanner for my wife, myself and a handful of visiting family. We also use some of the keyless tags to give the kids access temporarily if we don't feel like unlocking through the app. This thing works great, is 100% reliable, and designed very well. The installation was simple - they walk you through step-by-step. Absolutely recommend. Only knocked off 1 star is it isn't compatible with Home Assistant or Google Home (need to focus more on your integrations). ... show more

  • A good solution if your goal is a cloud-controlled door lock. Absolutely worthless otherwise.
Color: Black
Build Quality: Seems moderate to good. No issues so far. Others have said that the supplied latch was of questionable quality, but it seems pretty standard, so it could definitely be substituted for another latch. (Standard square hole, like you'd typically find on a door knob.) Installation: Instructions for physical installation were honestly very good, easy to understand even if you've not ever installed a doorknob before. I am happy to say they did a good job with these! Appearance: Looks nice, no issues there. Honestly surprised at how good it looks for the price, expected it to look cheaper when installed, but it doesn't. Keypad illumination is visible at all times of day or night, though my test installation was under my door leading to a covered porch. But honestly, unless it was in absolutely direct sunlight (difficult to achieve if the user was standing in front of it to use it), it should be visible. I do kind of hate how smudgy (think touchscreen smudge) that the keypad area gets, and you can sort of notice it in daylight... Sorta would have preferred physical buttons. Usage: Finger print reader is 'meh'. Doesn't work every time, but that's to be expected. Codes (once programmed) work fine all but one time.** Wireless key tags work fine (once programmed, the lock does not come with these key tags preprogrammed, you have to add them via the App). Bluetooth functions work fine if you're within ~5 feet of the lock. Otherwise I found them spotty. **I did have one instance where, after being not home all day for ~12 hours, the lock failed to 'wake up' when I tapped on the keypad. I did not try very many times / for very long before pulling out the wireless key tag from my pocket, and holding it to the lock, upon which time the lock did appear to 'wake up' and unlock. I have yet to replicate this issue, but am a bit concerned as to if it would have been possible to wake the lock without the key tag, had I not had it in my pocket! "Gateway" functions: Nearly flawless, honestly, except for when I managed to generate enough EM interference to affect the gateway's communication with the lock's BLE transmitter. Then it failed to 'get the lock status'. I am a bit confused, though, why I cannot use the 'unlock' feature in the App via the gateway, and actually have to be within range of the lock with my phone's Bluetooth turned on. :/ Weird. I would like this changed, as it seems like a simple feature addition, and silly no to have a 'remote buzz in' type feature on an internet-connected lock, in the age of doorbell cameras, etc. :/ "No Connection" operation: Fine, but this lock CANNOT be reprogrammed locally without an internet connection to the phone you're using to program it. See more details in the next section. Sifely, /what the absolute $*%#/? Otherwise, the lock does store the credentials locally and such, so it can unlock the door when presented with a code or wireless keytag, despite no connection / Bluetooth / WiFi / etc. being present. Privacy Concerns: This is honestly where my impression of Sifely and their product falls through the floor. This product is not a 'Bluetooth programmable lock with cloud features', this is a 'Sifely-cloud-server controlled door lock'. The application (when running) literally appears to be a Bluetooth-to-network gateway for the lock, and a web (browser like) interface to tell Sifely's servers what to program the lock. The app (even after initial setup) CANNOT work without a data connection. Aside from the obvious issues of areas with spotty cellphone reception, etc.; this raises SERIOUS privacy concerns for anyone intending to use this lock in a 'local only' capacity. Sifely's servers WILL know your PIN codes, the wireless keytag ID codes, etc.; there's just no option for them /not/ to, as it appears (from my testing so far) that EVERYTHING goes through their servers, even if you're using your phone's Bluetooth to program the lock! I do hope Sifely reads these reviews. All it would take for this to be a 5 star review was actually making offline programming of this lock feasible, so that no data /has to/ be transmitted to Sifely's servers if the user doesn't want it to be. I know this is a 'smart lock' product. But 'smart' doesn't have to mean 'no privacy or security'. Please, Sifely, fix your software. Fix the issue that for some reason, you have your servers 'middle man' everything. :( ... show more
