I have not use the paddle yet but I have demoed one from my tennis club and I liked the demo that’s why bought this. It gives me better control and better power. The description said it’s for an intermediate player which I am not! I am a beginner still taking lessons but I feel this paddle has the right weight which in turn gives me better control! The grip is good and just right for my two handed backhand! I think it’s a good price considering how expensive paddle are these days! Overall I hope this paddle will perform like the one I demoed! I only gave this four stars because I haven’t used it yet! I will use this paddle and may come back and give it five stars!

First, Selkirk product - they know how to make paddles. One of the top contributors to the sport. Now, on to the paddle tech & performance. Grip: Very solid octagonal grip that feels very comfortable in your hand. 4.25 circumference - pretty standard. Also, this is an elongated grip - thus if you like your two-ee - this will work! Weight: The one I got was 8.0 ounces. But still felt balanced thus not heavy in your hand. Sweet Spot: Since this is a "wide body" design, your sweet spot is going to be a bit larger than the elongated when you hit in the center of the paddle. It's more round than oval shaped. Btw, if you're mostly into doubles - the wide body paddle is something for you to look into. Power: Carbon fiber face and the dynamic fusion core helps give this paddle some precent decent pop. Not on the higher end of pop, but ok. Spin: The grit and face of this paddle does allow for decent spin. Control: You will get a lot of control out of this paddle. If you're looking to improve you net play, this paddle will help there with it's expansive sweet spot and it's being a 16mm paddle will give you the softness when you need it. Overall, this is a new gen paddle which the performance of these newer paddles just continue to raise the bar in how much you can improve. And if you're looking for a longer handle for that 2nd hand, this checks that box too. I can see this paddle covering from beginners all the way up to advanced players.

I'm pleasantly surprised on the power and pop I got from the widebody shaped Era. The sweet spot is super generous and the grit allows me to shape the ball over the net with tons of spin. My main paddle, right now, is the Joola Agassi Pro in the 16mm and I find the widebody Era surprisingly satisfying. I normally gravitate towards elongated but hearing that widebody is fantastic in kitchen battles, I decided to give the widebody Era a try. While it took a few games to get use to the shorter length, I truly enjoyed the wider shape for even a larger sweet spot. What's unique about this widebody is that its a widebody with a long enough handle to do two handed backhands. It's plenty of power and feel out of the box but adding some lead to the sides helped with stability and increased plow through...but only marginal as I feel like this Era paddle can easily be played by many without needing additional weight. In summary, this paddle is fantastic for anyone looking for power but also control. The power is great, the spin is fantastic and not much weight is needed to make this paddle sing. I'm a 4.0 rated player and I would feel comfortable taking this paddle to tournaments.

I love this widebody Pickleball paddle from SLK because it really lets me put spin on the ball and it just feels good in my hand. I’ve been playing Pickleball for about 2 years now and my skill has outpaced my old paddle. I never imagined how big of a difference a premium quality paddle could make. I’m just as surprised as my fellow players were. The paddle weighs 7.8oz. , which is pretty standard. The raw carbon face of this wide paddle gives me fantastic control of the ball. I can generate power and spin in ways my old paddle couldn’t come close to achieving. I was asked if a fellow player could use it while I was sitting out a match. They were just as impressed as I am. I fully expect to see her with this same paddle the next time we play. This paddle is worth every cent they’re asking for it. I wish I’d have upgraded long ago. I never imagined what I was missing. If you’re into Pickleball, treat yourself to a paddle that lets you be the best you can be. I strongly recommend this paddle and I would order another if needed.

This paddle reminds me a lot of the Joola Scorpeus in design and function. Similar to the scorpeus, it has a very square shape, which is nice for making the sweet spot big and centered on the paddle. I have two other "elite" level paddles, Joola 3 Perseus and Joola 3S Scorpeus. The 3 Perseus was banned for being "too powerful". But tbh, all 3 of these paddles feel equally powerful. They all use a polypropelene honeycomb core as the heart of it's power. Aside from excellent power and sweet spot, this paddle has a ton of friction. When wearing one of my athleisure shirts from Vuori/Lululemon, I can just hang the paddle off my chest vertically from the friction. I am a tennis player who learned pickleball, so I play with a ton of spin...and even more than the power, I rely on spin, and this paddle delivers! Excellent paddle. If you even think you want this paddle, go ahead and add it to your cart because it's fantastic.
