Description

The Skytech 3002 Fireplace Remote Control provides wireless thermostatic and timer control of a gas heating fireplace with the simple click of a button. The remote control transmitter runs on (2) 1.5V AAA batteries and features an LCD display that uses a user friendly interface, with MODE/SET/TIMER&TIME and two directional arrow buttons to communicate wirelessly to a receiver that operates on (4) AA batteries. The receiver connects to all standard millivolt valves, and can be mounted up to 20 feet away from the fireplace. Enjoy the ambience of a cozy fire, control the temperature of the room, and benefit from the use of a timer function without sacrificing the comfort of your seat using this fireplace remote control from Skytech. Partial plastic cover slides to cover buttons so settings aren't accidentally adjusted. Timer feature allows the user to set a desired amount of time the fireplace will operate; countdown timer can be set up to a maximum time of 9 hours. The Childproof feature allows the user to "lock-out" operations from the transmitter.

This is an exact replacement for our gas logs in the living room. The remote works great as it's supposed to; only problem we've ever had is they just don't last long. Have already now had to change it twice. The previous one lasted about 5 years. That may be a long time for some but I think they should last longer since you only use it a few months every year.     • Easy install, works great
I researched these wireless fireplace remote/thermostats and decided on this one for one major reason. It has the ability to set the swing temperature from the 2 degrees fixed on most down to 1 degree. This means it cuts off after the temperature exceeds 1 degree above setpoint and kicks on when it falls less than 1 degree below setpoint. With 2 degree swings you have to ride through 4 degree swings minimum which, in my opinion, is too much for a gas fireplace you are sitting anywhere near with the degree of radiant heating you get. The installation was as easy as it could be just disconnecting the bayonet connectors of the built in on/off switch and slipping on the built in bayonet connectors on the remote receiver unit. It even has connectors on the back of the remote receiver connections so you can piggyback the built in on/off switch on top of the remote receiver so, should you have the need to use it without remote you can. The build quality seems high and I am completely pleased with my purchase of this unit. It came and was installed in the late summer and I was thankful when our freak Halloween snowfall came this year and left us without power for a day including a cold night where my wireless thermostat kept the house warm without having to burn my entire tank by just leaving it on continuously. ... show more

    • Been a great investment - love the thermostat and timer features
Ordered in the middle of summer, so have only had a chance to do some cursory testing. It was easy to install and seems to work well. I like the remote, lots of info presented in a concise manner. Will post an update later this winter when it gets a real workout. 12/31/2017 Update - This seems to work very well with regard to temperature control, timer and ease of use. Been using it for a few winter months now and it hasn't hiccoughed once! Love the timer feature. Set it for a few hours from now and it shuts off automatically! Especially helpful when using in thermostat mode when you forget that the fireplace is turned on before bedtime. I still recommend turning it off before leaving it unattended, but it does act as a helpful safeguard when you forget. ... show more

Replaced our old remote with the same model because we knew it would work with our fireplace. New one works fine so far. The t stat feature is the way to go.
