I decided on this product because it was a plug in unit, no hardwire installation needed. I received a nice looking sturdy unit, with a D-ring adjustable chain. It was easy to hang and plug in right out of the box. I'm disappointed in how little heat it puts out. I live in the desert and really only wanted this to take the chill out from under a patio. Throws a lot of light and very little heat, compared to 1500 watt infrared heaters I've seen. Works OK if you are under it or within a couple of feet radius. Forget it for nighttime use outdoors if you don't want so much light and relatively little heat. It's OK right above a table to eat at dusk when it's still light outside. After dark, you'll be be bathed in a warm, very bright orange glow. On low, this might work for you. ... show more

The only reason I didn’t keep it is because the metal is getting hot. Therefore is loosing hit, also because I wanted to place it lower and was not safe for the kids if would touch it. Other wise it dose a fair hit if is close enough and look 👀 is really nice!
