needed this asap to recreate a new windows partition since my pc was crashing while loading. this part is speedy and nice. but i would probably encourage a bit more space, even if you only use it for your windows os.

They were cheap. Anything over 1000 speed not needed on r-pi. 3 years old now. still works like new.

    • Disappointing
Capacity: 128GB Style: 128GB
I use a couple of these drives for cache on my NAS and they work fine. So when I decide to purchase a large (2TB) boot drive for my laptop I decided to stick with the SP drive. I installed it and spent hours setting it up and a few days later it failed to boot. I tried recovery but no joy. So I removed it reformatted and ran some intense testing. The standard tests worked and speed was pretty good. So I wrote a script to copy a bunch of large file (750) and then perform a SHA256 and compare the results in my test eight of my files failed there integrity check. So maybe it’s just a bad unit, but I decided to go with a bigger brand for my critical data. I was surprised to see the drive ran quite cool sticking around 38C but my machine went through the battery faster with the large SP drive. Just some more data to help you with your choice. ... show more

    • Good for USB drive!
Capacity: 128GB Style: 128GB
Very useful as a portable external drive. I don't use this for anything else. I keep a copy of Linus installed on it with plenty of tools for troubleshooting PCs I work on.

    • Phison Controller a bad match with RPi5
Capacity: 128GB Style: 128GB
If you're looking at this for a Raspberry Pi 5, I recommend you keep looking unless you're fine with only getting Gen 1 speeds from it. It has a Phison controller that doesn't play well with the Raspberry Pi. Runs at almost 400MB/s instead of around 800-1000MB/s, and setting the configuration of the RPi to Gen 3 will change nothing. It's still faster and more stable than an SD, but slower than one would hope for--and a bit expensive for it's capacity. But it will work. And it is an improvement. ... show more
