Need grab bars for stability, when stepping out of shower to the floor. Just installed it. Too soon to rate long term performance. Red and green suction indicators are common sense necessities on a movable safety device like this. Pleased overall.

I don't know if I'll ever fully trust a suction grab bar, but if you hold on to it knowing that it isn't actually permanently attached to the surface, it's a good help to keep you stabilized, I'm a little wobbly first thing in the morning when I step into the shower right out of bed. It definitely needs a completely smooth surface, ANY type of textured surface will result in a suction cup which is NOT securely fixed. I tried this thing in one of our bathrooms with a fiberglass stall that is "almost" perfectly smooth, but not quite apparently. It stuck and held on very well...for about 5 minutes, then it just fell off of the wall. I'm fairly sure it would hold on very well when used on actually smooth surfaces as long as you keep in mind that it is not permanently attached and could...possibly...fail to hold at any time. It also has uses other than the shower, near or on stairs, beside your favorite chair or bed (if there's a smooth wall surface close by) It's a very simple installation that doesn't damage the surface that it mounts on and the little Loofah, self adhesive hook to hang it on, and shower drain cover are nice little bonuses and maybe they help justify the somewhat high price as there are similar grab bars considerably less expensive that, from reviews, seem to work just as well.

This product is just the right size if you need an extra grip for balance. The power of the suction cup is much stronger than I expected it to be. There are indicators on each side showing green for good seal and red as needing adjustment. I really like this feature since it lets me know to not depend on the grip if it is red. There are also a few small gifts included that are nice and unexpected. One of those scrunchy pads to soap up with and a silicone drain cover to keep things from going down your drain. I didn't need either, but it was a nice touch. The handle itself is sturdy and feels very well made. The two latches that create the suction are firm and tuck in nicely once engaged. I did not test it with my full 225 pounds, but I would absolutely trust it to help me regain balance if I slipped in the shower, or needed some extra balance while bending to pick something up. Overall, this is a winner that does its job well.

I needed to find a shower handle that didn't suction over the gap in the tiles, and this handle is it! The more popular handles tend to have larger suction cups and a shorter handle making it difficult to adhere to certain surfaces, but this fit between the grout lines perfectly. The handle is also incredibly strong and withstands 300+ pounds of pull.

This is a relatively minor point but the box is labeled “GARB BAR”, not “GRAB BAR”. Other than that, this is a less utilitarian, more stylish, easy-mount grab bar. My older, more utilitarian grab bar is on the left; the new, more stylish bar is on the right in the photo. Initially, I was concerned that the safety “telltales” (red/green indicators) would not be very visible but, in fact, they are fairly visible from the side (photo). Like any suction-mount grab bar, you have to make sure you install it on the correct surface and, periodically you will need to remove it if the red indicator is visible or re-install it if you find the grab bar on the floor. The good news – you do not have to drill holes in the walls. PROS • Easy to install, suction-mount grab bar. • Red/green safety indicators. • A little less utilitarian and more stylish. CONS • Sizes longer than 12inches (30 centimeters) would be nice.

I highly recommend this grab bar. My wife is physically challenged and needs assistance with her mobility, a grab bar is required in several areas and this one works great. I have purchased a few of these in the past and found some were not as reliable as others. This CXEVGBN Grab Bar was shipped quickly and arrived in a couple of days. As you can see from the photos it is well packaged. Installing is simple and easily removed and reinstalled if you are not satisfied with the first placement. This is the first grab bar I've seen that has a mechanical device to quickly detect if the suction cups are securely in place. If the indicator shows any red, then it is not seated correctly and needs to be reseated until a fully green indicator is seen. With this simple device, there is no guessing if it is on right. The handle also has finger intentions on the underside to give additional support for your grip so as not to slip off. It also comes with a rubber drain mat to easily catch hair or other debris you do not wish to go down the drain. In addition, the grab bar is supplied with a very nice Loofah or shower pouf for using body wash along with a hook with an adhesive back to hang it from. This will be my go-to grab bar for future purchases.
