I have been very pleased with this stick vacuum! It is lightweight and very versatile between cleaning hardwood and carpet. It also does great with stairs and getting into crevices and below furniture. The attachments are minimal, but well selected. A crevice tool, small roller brush head for furniture, and the wider rigid tool are all I need, in addition to the primary head. The cord is a bit stiffer than I would prefer, but it does not impede my ability to vacuum the floors in my home. I was keen to get a corded vacuum to avoid potentially losing power with a dying battery or being down due to charging. So I would gladly trade consistent vacuum suction for a stiffer cord. Something I really appreciate is how easy it is to disassembly portions of the vacuum to clean and/or maintain. The filters are easy to remove and clean, which helps maintain the aforementioned suction consistency. I had one instance where the suction was falling short, and I found a little door on the bottom of the vacuum head and upon opening found a blockage. That was easy to remove and I was back to full power. All in all, I think this is a great stick vacuum and well worth the price. ... show more

I like the upgrades in this Shark vacuum cleaner from my last Shark. They kept the duo clean system along with the self- cleaning brushroll to eliminate the dreaded hairwrap. I really like the return of the 30 foot extension cord from the 25 foot cord on my previous Shark. The additional 5 feet makes a big difference for me. The floor detect technology is awesome as it automatically senses the difference between hard floors and carpets and adjusts the brushrolls which is great when I am cleaning a hard floor with area rugs. Another plus is the ability to switch to a manual surface mode for hard floor or carpet where it stays on the type of surface you choose. I like that it is self-standing when the vacuum head is on the wand or the head can be detached and set on the storage hook like previous Sharks. The only negative is the odor cartridge which has a disgusting perfumy reek. You can adjust the amount of odor released or just remove the cartridge completely. I think I will just keep the cartridge in and set it for the minimum intensity setting and never replace it so it will eventually lose it’s smell. The precision duster attachment has a smaller nozzle with an attached brush that has a more controllable suction than a regular sized nozzle. I like Sharks because of their cleaning performance and this style which is light and easy to maneuver and they keep improving it. ... show more

I like the weight, easy to carry up and down stairs. The suction is good. Works well on hardwood and low pile carpet. The only complaint I have is with the cord. I bought the corded version because reviews complained about the battery life of the cordless. But this cord is too stiff and cheap. It is hard to wrap when putting it away. It is hard to maneuver the cord. The second time I used it, the cord got sucked up by the vacuum and now I have a frayed cord. If the cord was better I would have given it 5 stars. Maybe it will loosen up with age but I am not optimistic. I will keep it for awhile then try something else. ... show more

I have to admit i was leery purchasing this with some of the reviews. But now that I've had it i like how easy it is to maneuver and light. The handle is comfortable. It really has good suction!! Easy to empty the bin. The tool storage isn't horrible although the bottom one pops off from time to time. I like how it selects hard floor or carpet. Idk what everyone is freaking out about with the cord in the reviews. I like that its a ribbed cord as it wont tangle as much. Sure its a bit stiff when you get it but it loosens up. I love that i dont have to worry about replacing batteries ever for this stick! And the best part is how easy this is to take apart to use as a smaller vacuum in two different ways. It isn't often that both my wife and I get excited about the power and effectiveness of a vacuum but with the Shark Power Detect Ultra Light Corded Stick Vacuum we did. It has everything you could want in a vacuum especially if you don't have acres of flooring to clean. It picks up so much dust, dander and dirt from your floors including carpet, wood, and vinyl, has a more than enough power, super long heavy duty cord, the head is easily maneuvered and it is easy to empty the dust cup and clean and change the filters. It has two rollers and the unit adjusts the rpms of them automatically when the vacuuming surface changes. Just perfect. ... show more

I was saddened to have to return Shark's auto empty cordless. I loved that vacuum's features. It just wasn't practical as the high powered mode only lasted 10-15 min that required 6 hours to charge! I even tried charging it for 1 hours then tried to finish the kitchen and it auto shut off. This corded version doesn't have all the same features like the auto empty dock and the edge detection. But it is very powerful in terms of general suction. And it still auto detects hardwood vs carpet. The amount of fine dust it extracts from the carpet really went to show how inferior my old $100 vacuum performed. This vacuum is very lightweight and the hair collection comb design combined with the easy small collection cup is awesome. What's also great is how easy it is to transition from full wand mode, to stair mode, to straight wand mode. Also in terms of storing,if you have a shorter closet, the top handheld motor part can detach and be hung securely on the lower part of the wand, essentially making it half the height during storage! ... show more
