Bit heavier than I imagined. Poor instructions. Arrived with battery dead. Customer service 10 stars! Walked me thru everything. This is 1st Gen of this product, so you may have questions. Separate charging cord NOT YET AVAILABLE, but port is in place. Mine is not self emptying....but that cout be operator error and require another phone call. This picks up amazingly small (kitty litter, sand) items. Dust bunnies, cat and dog hair disappear. I bought it only to get under furniture (I'm really old). Absolutely dumbfounded at it's ability. I must add it's not so good at picking up dog and cat kibbles or cheerios.....but I certainly don't care. Oh, also it's simple to bend the handle and at a good spot for me at 5'2". Yes, I would recommend and buy again PS. The light is amazing

After using this vacuum at home, I had to buy one for the cabin. I’m handicapped and this cordless vacuum is lightweight and easy for me to use. I’ve had other brands but they have a problem with constant plugging up.

It took me awhile to figure out if I like this vacuum or not, or even if I wanted to keep it. I threw out the box immediately because I dumbly assumed I’d love it. I love my Shark upright corded vacuum, and this cordless one gets fantastic reviews, so my assumption seemed safe. But I still had to figure out how to use it to suit my purposes. I bought it for quick cleanups on my hard LVP floor in the evenings to get up pet hair and crumbs under the dinner table and stray cat litter particles around the cat box. I was very disappointed when it wouldn’t pick these tiny particles up. Instead it would just push a lot of the dirt forward and backward into neat rows of dust the width of the head. Even on the high power setting it didn’t do the job. My broom and dust pan picked up MORE dirt AFTER I’d vacuumed the space. Finally I found the troubleshooting section on the Shark website. It had me take out the filters to check for dirt. The filters were absolutely caked with dirt, which makes me wonder if I’ve been sold a used vacuum. After reassembling I had to do some experimenting because its suction power was still not great. Better though. I figured out that I must have it on the high power setting for it to work worth anything at all. The other two settings are kind of useless. Also move slowly, which isn’t a big deal in the small area I use it on. The battery is short-lived if it’s on high the whole time. If I want to, I would not be able to do the rest of the house. Also, before turning it off I have to let it sit stationary for a few seconds to suck up what’s left in the stick. If I turn it off immediately the particles fall down the stick out onto the floor. NOW, if I follow these “rules” it works for what I need it for. I will say it works nicely on my small thin area rugs, though even with that I have to let it sit at the far edge for a few seconds, otherwise it will fling dirt forward at the edge of the rug. It doesn’t adapt to the change in floor surfaces well (rug to hard floor) in the same pass. I like the emptying feature on the stand. To be honest, I have not tried the attachments or the hinged feature on the stick. The head itself is small enough that it gets underneath the dining room chairs without needing to bend it. All in all, I would say that this vacuum cleaner is not worth the $499 I paid for it. The frustration with it in the beginning and the “rules” I follow would put it as worth $200 at the very highest. If a guest wanted to use it I’d probably have to explain how to use it. Three stars is probably a little generous, but it does do what I need it to now that I’ve “fixed” it.

It's top heavy so it can't stand by itself in the upright position. You have to bend it in half with the multiflex wand, and then it's hard to reach the button to set it to the upright position again. Not convenient to walk away for a minute while you're vacuuming. Directions are not clear. It took me an hour to assemble it. I regret buying it.

OK, this vacuum vastly exceeded expectations. My wife despises vacuuming, but has started vacuuming again because of this unit's ease and convenience. I was very skeptical, but it is a serious contender against full-size vacuums, and the convenience justifies the high cost compared to other options. Shark has another winner! We have a Shark Navigator and several stick vacs that I absolutely love. I had low expectations for this vacuum cleaner as our primary carpet cleaner because of its size. I typically prefer a Navigator or a Hoover Pet vacuum to really get a lot of dirt and dog hair out of our carpet. This little thing is amazing! It did just as good a job on our carpet as the Shark Navigator and the Old Hoover Pet Vac did. I can't believe it actually has that much suction and cleaning power, considering its weight and that it is cordless. I love the New Bristles that are self-cleaning, as I am tired of cleaning hair out of our old vacuums. The vacuum is well-balanced and easy to maneuver, with a decent lighting system. I haven't needed to use the bending elbow, but it would be convenient for some use cases. The self-cleaning stand is what my wife bought and replaced our primary vacuum. It sits quietly in a corner, is fully charged when you want to use it, and empties the container when you put it back on the stand. When emptying the container, it goes through three cycles, and they are all pretty loud. It spooked our dogs the first couple of times, but now they're used to it. We should be able to get 4 to 6 vacuums in before needing to dump the base station. The unit is light and well-balanced enough that you can use it to vacuum upholstery, spider webs, and curtains with ease. I was expecting it to be much heavier and harder to use than our corded Shark stick vac, which has excellent suction. I didn't need to get it, as this unit was a little heavier but just as easy to use. It carries a premium price tag, but it's an excellent value for what it provides. You are getting a seriously powerful vacuum that will handle most jobs, work on carpets and bare floors without needing adjustments, and offer convenient power and cleaning functions. The LED display is very easy to read and offers clear modes depending on how you plan to use it. My wife keeps it on auto all the time, and it seems to be adjusting perfectly when she switches between hardwood floors, area rugs, and carpet.

I have two dogs on a hardwood floor and carpets with a bad back. Thank you I bought the first cordless shark when it came out, but because it doesn’t have any kind of tower placement tower I always had to keep them apart, kind of a pain in the butt to keep in one place without it just falling on the ground. I have a corded shark and no really good place to keep it, but I found myself looking for something that’s cordless and more powerful when I saw this. It’s perfect because it can stand on its own and provide a place to at least keep part of the remnants to where I can just maybe once or twice a week maybe once a month dump it in my hair bag for the dog hair and other vacuum debris. When I bought it, I put it together didn’t use the instructions. Didn’t think I needed them because it was very self-explanatory and I was so happy and when I charged it up it it sounds like it’s powerful and I love the light. The light is awesome. the blue light how it changes from the blue to the white light if you’re on the carpet or the hardwood floor and it would be great if it actually sucked up more… let me explain… when I even slowly go along the hardwood floor. There’s still dog hair and it’s tracks so I’m having to go over the same spot several times but ultimately I’m just gonna have to use another system to get the hair up with another product and I’m very disappointed with its performance on the carpet… so I am keeping my shark corded vac and will be using this vac every night and then just every two weeks. I’m just gonna use my other product that I can spray on the floor and will manually pick up the hair from my dogs. Because of my back issues, I’m not returning it because it is the best type of utility situation that I can access without having to really hurt myself too much because when I vacuum, it doesn’t take long for my back to start giving me issue no matter what I’m using… I’m glad I bought it on sale for the price that it was because I don’t think I’ve paid what someone else said they paid almost $500 for it… it’s not worth that amount. In fact it’s probably worth maybe $300 but you know it is what it is… clearly I can see what needs to improve is the little brushes need to be longer; they need to be longer so they’ll actually pick stuff up because these brushes are just too short. They’re just entirely too short. They need to drag the debris to the suction hole….not that I’m an engineer or anything, but the engineers need to engineer a little bit better in my opinion. The power of the actual accessories are a lot more powerful than the vacuum head, which kind of blows me away but then again I’m not going to spend hours and hours lining out hardwood floor the carpet just to make sure everything comes up… so it is what it is and I’m keeping it for its utility for someone with a bad back.
