Description

The PowerDetect NeverTouch robot vacuum and mop system is designed to capture more, reach farther, and need you less (vs. Shark Matrix 2-in-1). Its five powerful cleaning technologies help to target hidden debris, stuck-on stains, edges and to optimize cleaning for every floor type, handling the toughest cleaning challenges. Whether vacuuming or mopping, the PowerDetect robot does the dirty work, so you don't have to. It deep-cleans and mops your floors, while the NeverTouch Base means you don’t have to worry about cleanup or maintenance for weeks at a time. After every cleaning run, the robot will return to the base to empty dry debris, refill the water tank, and dry the mopping pad so it’s always ready for its next clean. With NeverStuck Technology, the robot lifts itself over obstacles and across thresholds to avoid getting stuck. When mopping, it keeps the pad above carpets to prevent wet messes and deliver whole-home coverage. While the robot handles your cleaning chores for you, the bagless base with Anti-Allergen Complete Seal captures and traps 99.97% of dust and allergens (down to .3 microns, allergens refers to non-living matter).

  • Not perfect but it has saved me a lot of work. I feel it is worth the price.
Style: Wet+Dry & 30-Day Self-Refilling - Grey
Review after 3 weeks. We have the Shart RV2829YE robot vacuum. A little background: We have a 2400sqft single level house. About 50/50 between hard surface (engineered wood and tile in the bathrooms) and very good quality carpet about 8 years old. My wife and I are retired and we have a German Shepard (German Shedder) dog. Before buying the robot vacuum, I needed to vacuum about every 5 to 7 days. By day 3 we would start having "fur balls" lining our main hall and light scattering of dog hair over all the hard surfaces. We often would do a quick dust mop along the hall edges to tame the fur balls. I usually would mop after vacuuming. I found with using the robot vacuum nearly everyday, reduced my workload. I just did a manual whole house vacuum after nearly three weeks of letting the robot vacuum clean the floors. Real world findings are that we dramatically less fur balls along the hall way and much less dog hair scattered around. We also noticed that walking barefoot in the kitchen, we rarely stepped on the little hard crumbs that we would routinely encounter a few days after a manual cleaning. THE BOTTOM LINE for me is that I spend 5 minutes going around the house prepping for the robot to clean (chairs on tables, picking up odds and ends, etc (same thing I do to vacuum) and then I can go about my day. I have been doing that most days and we have a pretty clean house and (almost) no fur balls - it isn't perfect. PROS: - Everyday cleaner floors overall - not perfect, but better without a lot of work on my part. - Reduced workload for me. - No more fur balls - including fewer fur balls under furniture. We have a hallway table that when I vacuumed after 5 to 7 days would always have significant fur balls under it. I have not seen any since using the robot, including today when I did a whole house vacuum (after 3 weeks of all robot cleaning). I don't have an explanation, it is just my experience. - While doing a whole house vacuum today (getting ready for a herd of family members for Easter), I had the robot mop the floors as I finished vacuuming. That was nice and saved me some work. It did nearly as good a job as I would have done. The dog tracked in muddy paw prints and the robot cleaned all of them. - Reasonably quiet. We don't run it at night in our house but if we had two or more floors, I am sure it would be quiet enough. - It has only gotten stuck once - under the dinning room table with all the chairs on the floor. We have a wooden HVAC vent in the floor and it got hung up on in between a table leg and chair leg. If I put the chairs on the table it does fine. CONS: - As you might imagine, it does the least satisfactory job along the edges and in corners. Long straight walls, ir works well, nooks and cranny's, not so well. - On the carpet, I estimate the robot gets about 40% to 50% of the fur compared to a manual vacuum. But it gets it every day so I think it is a good trade off. - It struggles in our home office. We have two desks that it can get under (which is good because it cleans an area that is impossible to get the manual vacuum into. However, our rolling office chairs seem to baffle it, and it can seem to get lost trying to find a way around them. I have not found a solution except to move the chairs into another room. I could make the desk and chair areas NO GO AREAS but that defeats the purpose... - You can have it vacuum individual rooms / areas or mop individual rooms/areas. If you want to vacuum and mop, your only choice is the entire mapped house. That seem like an easy fix in the app. - It maps the entire house as one floor plan. You have to go in and draw lines in the app to separate rooms (i.e. bedroom from hallway). The apples does not make that easy to do with a fat finger... A stylus might work better. TIPS: - It is critical to prepare your house for the mapping exercise. I mapped twice and may map a third time as I keep learning and observing it work. I have learned to put all of the chairs on top of the table, the kitchen stools on the breakfast bar. We have a piano bench and we put that on an easy chair, pick up shoes in the closet, etc. The more stuff you get off the floor, the better the map job will be, Once it is mapped, if it encounters a shoe or a chair, it simply works around the obstacle. But if the obstacle is present during the map exercise, the robot may never vacuum there. Same thing with throw rugs. It will map the position of a throw rug. It will vacuum the throw rug but it will not mop the throw rug. But if you pick up the throw rug after mapping and then ask it to mop, it will not mop the area the throw rug sits. However if you pick up the throw rugs during mapping, then ask it to mop that area, it will mop the area the throw rug normally sits or will avoid mopping the throw rug if it is present. Speaking of throw rugs, we have an assortment; bath mat type with 1''x1/8th" long soft fibers, and normal soft rug and a smaller lightweight but thick bath mat. The lightweight, thick bathmat is the only one to cause an issue. It is thick enough that the robot bumps into it and then pushes it around instead of moving on top of it. I just pick it up. The raised transitions between the engineered floor and the tile batch rooms are not an issue EXCEPT that is does not get the doghair that is right next to the transition strip. I have less room around the dock that is recommended but it has never been an issue. ... show more

  • Make The Switch
Style: Wet+Dry & 60-Day Self-Refilling - Black
I've been an iRobot member for years, but honestly it was getting crazy expensive for what you were getting with them, and so I knew when I moved it was time for something new. I was looking at something that would actually scrub the floor and also vacuum, but had more sensors and was smarter than iRobot, because those Roombas are just kind of not that intelligent, let's be honest, especially for what you pay for them, but this one was just way, way, way better, even after a day having it. I can tell you the way it maps and cleans is highly superior from a Roomba device. So if you're considering it, at least do your research, but after being an iRobot member for years, I can say I'll probably not get that brand again, but at least Shark has been very impressive. ... show more

  • RUN AWAY - Serious quality issues with the mop water buckets - constantly leaking and cracking.
Style: Wet+Dry & 60-Day Self-Refilling - White
UPDATE: my initial review was 5 stars and opinion of this robot was quite high. However, after 4 months of ownership, I’ve started to have nothing but problems with this unit. The clear water containers used to hold the mop water have serious quality control issues. I’ve had the base mop reservoir replaced under warranty due to random cracks that formed in the plastic on their own, constantly leaking water into the base. Soon after, the robot kept giving error after error, not running as expected, always giving an error stating an issue with the flap (error number 9), and again leaking mop water from the robot. After an inspection, I found more of these cracks in the clear plastic on the mop reservoir for the vacuum itself, one of which actually caused an entire screw mount to completely break off causing the flap to not function — so this component also got replaced under warranty. Now just a couple weeks since my last base reservoir was replaced under warranty, I have cracks yet again forming in the plastic. I’m not doing anything crazy here. I have hardwood floors. I replace the water when it runs out. Mops twice per week, vacuums once per day. Nothing out of the ordinary at all. There’s a serious quality issue with whatever plastic materials Shark is using for the clear components. And here’s the best part — now that I’ve had to call numerous times for this very obvious defect, Shark customer support has told me THESE PARTS ARE NOT UNDER WARRANTY. WHAT?! Apparently they only cover the “base” and “robot” itself. Nothing for these water tanks. So I guess they think these are consumables? Either that or Shark is very aware that these components are junk and are just trying to charge their customers for them at this point to recoup their costs. If you push back on them, they’ll eventually offer a free part, suggesting a goodwill effort, but still make you pay for shipping. Honestly insane. I purchased the product. I expect the product to function. I should not have to bear the burden of any additional expense because of defective parts. I’ve had to escalate this issue through Shark’s support to their head offices. I think they’ve got an issue leading all the way back to their manufacturers. Until this is clearly resolved and addressed, I cannot recommend this product to anyone. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Performance The vacuum and mop functions work exceptionally well, especially in a home with a dog. Running the vacuum daily and the mop every three days keeps my floors nearly spotless. It handles 90% of the floor cleaning effectively, leaving only 10% of edge and baseboard areas for occasional manual cleaning. Convenience The self-emptying vacuum and self-cleaning mop make it a “set and forget” device. During a full clean, it typically returns to the base once to empty dust and refill water. Navigation is excellent—it finds its way back home without issues. My 1,500 sq ft main floor uses just over 50% of its charge for a complete vacuum and mop. Obstacle Handling The robot handles most obstacles with ease and navigates tight areas efficiently. I’ve only had to rescue it once when it picked up a clothes hanger left on the floor. Mopping Efficiency The mop pad agitates back and forth for a thorough clean. The spot-cleaning mode is particularly impressive, as the bot moves incrementally and spins to ensure deep cleaning in the designated area. App and Voice Control The app communication can be slow and unresponsive. Once an action starts (e.g., spot cleaning), you’re locked into the sequence until it finishes. This can be frustrating if you make a mistake, like selecting the wrong room or cleaning mode, since there’s no way to interrupt or override the command mid-process. Alexa integration is disappointing—most commands are met with confusion or failure to execute. Noise Level The vacuum itself is quiet, but the base is quite loud during the self-emptying and pad-cleaning process. You will not want this running while you sleep because the self empty is going to keep you up once the vacuum gets back to base. Maintenance Switching out the mop water and emptying the dust bins is simple and only needs to be done every other week. Summary Overall, this Shark robot vacuum mop cleaner excels at automating daily chores, though the app and voice control could use significant improvement. If I could knock the review down a half point for this, I would. However, its performance and convenience outweigh the minor drawbacks, making it a worthwhile addition to any home and warranting a 5 star review. Easily one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time. ... show more

  • Great helper for busy persons
Style: Wet+Dry & 60-Day Self-Refilling - White
This was worth its money as it helps on keeping the floor clean between proper mopping. It is louder than I expected and bigger than I expected, but does an excellent job at cleaning the floor. I would recommend stopping midway and changing mopping pads if you have a large floor surface to cover. I wish the bottom tray would come off to clean out the sentiment that accumulated over time. The app is pretty straight forward and easy to set up. All in all I would recommend this. ... show more
