Very pleased with this vacuum. So far, I only have pros, no cons. Here are the pros. * Excellent suction. * Very manuverable. * The detect feature is a great boon. I don't have to wonder if stuff on the floor or carpet has been picked up, the sweeper adjusts to get everything. I do watch the lights to know when all has been removed. * The dust bin empty feature is a wonderful addition. I prefer to empty a dust bin after each use but disliked doing that. Now, I hang the vac and presto, the bin is empty. It's not too heavy. * Given it's many features, I doubt it could be much lighter. * The battery lasts while I do everything I want to do. The battery lasts much longer than the other brand that's highly rated. Very pleased with the purchase. Two weeks later and I'm still delighted with this vac. I do have some advice. The filter system on the motor is very effective and captures large amounts of dust. I was surprised when I first checked on it and discovered it was so full. With other sweepers, I've found that allowing a vacuum filter to get too full decreases the vacuum's suction. So, now I'm looking at that filter system far more often. This is by far the best purchase I’ve made this year. We replaced our cordless Dyson with this because the Dyson started falling apart after about 8 months. Every time we’d vacuum with it, we’d lift the vacuum off the floor to empty it into the trash can and everything we just vacuumed would fall out of the brushes, even after cleaning the vacuum and checking for clogs. This Shark does everything we wished the Dyson would’ve done. Against edges, it automatically powers up and sucks harder to suck things from under the baseboards. Going from hardwood to carpet is amazing. No switching heads like the Dyson. It automatically engages the rollers down on carpet and sucks much harder. Back to hardwood it automatically knows and goes back to hardwood/tile mode. Dust debris started to build up a bit in the dust bin on the Shark, but taking it apart and washing it is so easy. The weight of the vacuum is very light and easy to manage, but still has a very sturdy, strong feel. The automatic emptying design is the best I’ve ever seen. The battery life is awesome. It doesn’t even use 1/4 of the battery when we vacuum our 2200 sf home. The way it doesn’t clog with pet hair is the best designs we’ve used. Never a clog and we vacuum a ton of dog hair from our yellow lab everyday. I highly recommend this vacuum to anyone that’s nervous about switching brands. I rarely write reviews, but this Shark vacuum deserves a standing ovation. After years of battling pet hair, dust bunnies, and the occasional cereal spill, I finally found a vacuum that doesn’t just cope—it conquers. Suction Power: This thing is a beast. It pulls up dirt I didn’t even know existed in my carpet. I vacuumed a “clean” rug and filled the bottom of the dust cup. It’s oddly satisfying and scary! Pet Hair Slayer: I have two dogs, and this vacuum handles fur like a pro. The self-cleaning brushroll is a miracle—no more cutting tangled hair out of the roller. Lift-Away Feature: Genius. I can detach the pod and clean stairs, upholstery, and even ceiling corners without lugging the whole unit around. It’s like having a handheld and upright in one. If you’re on the fence, just go for it. Shark nailed the balance between performance, price, and thoughtful design. This is an excellent vacuum. The power and amount it pulls out of my carpet is incredible. I love the look of it and the bright lights. I love the auto empty and the fact it is always charged. It’s so strong I have to question if it’s cleaning dog hair from my rug or literally pulling out rug fibers. I had to return it for a few reasons. First is the weight. I am a physically fit young person and switching from a canister Miele to this was a huge shock. I am returning this 18lb beast for a 6lb off name. My mother who is also fit but has arthritis in her hand can NOT use this vacuum. Second, I have baseboard radiators and the size of the head does not fit under them for easy access. I could vacuum my whole house and then go back under half the walls with the hose attachment… but for the money I spent on this thing I am not doing that. Third, the side suction is good, not great. I spilled some sugar under the cabinets and while it got most, it did not get all. Lastly, for the best vacuum on vacuum wars and the price, it should come with more and better attachments. I miss my Miele hair duster attachment. Also, you give me 2 attachments and only space to hang one?! I attached image of some of the issues I mentioned. Overall I am really sad this amazing vacuum is just not going to make sense for my family. I got it on prime day for $399, which also hurts cause I hate losing a deal. ... show more

Amazing vacuum. I use this at my commercial studio and it’s just hands down the best cordless vacuum I’ve used and this is coming from a Dyson vacuum owner for years. The vacuum has a base that has a tank that empties out the vacuum every time you put it back to charge. The vacuum itself has great battery life and 3 different settings—normal, eco, and turbo. The head of the vacuum has a censor so it knows when to switch from hardwood to carpet on its own. It picks things up quickly and efficiently, it’s powerful enough to not leave anything behind because unlike the cheaper vacuums.
