This vacuum went beyond my expectations. It has great versatility from designing it to where the canister, and hose can detach from the floor unit to vacuum things like curtain valances, upholstery, and places where a mfloor attachment cannot get. The motor creates powerful suction with out being loud and noisy. When attached to the floor attachment, you can regulate the rotary brush using the on off switch, so if your vacuuming hardwood floors, you can turn the rotary brush off. Then, when you go to vacuum carpet, you can turn it on. Another feature is that it is steerable, making maneuvering a breeze. It has a HEPA filter to remove dust, and the canister is large enough to be able to vacuum a 4 bedroom house without having to stop to empty the canister. This is an awesome vacuum. ... show more

My old shark was 12-15 years old, and I felt it had lost some oomph. I got this as a replacement and, it is a little smaller but, that is a plus b/c it is more lightweight. I love the color. I love the attachments. It cleaned up what my old vacuum left behind and, it was shocking! I got it for a great price as refurbished. The vacuum attachment holder was missing, but I found an official one for this model on e-bay for about $12 including shipping. Fits perfectly. I love this vacuum. It literally propelled itself and picks up more than I expected! I had no idea there was so much in my carpets! The only problems are minor. There is no where to put the attachments. I'm not sure if that's because I bought it refurbished and it just wasn't there or it didn't come with one initially. The cord could definitely be longer. Honestly those two very minor issues are the only things that I don't love about it. ... show more

Gift for my daughter. Great suction. This model is refurbished and came with an extended warranty. Shark is a great vacuum. My problem is that the suction hose that attached to the unit is held on by a piece of plastic with a clip. Because the clip broke you have to hold the hose with your hand to the unit.I had no idea it was such a poor design. Paid good money ! So now I have to deal with the manufacturer. Not pleased at all. I had a shark for six years before upgrading to this one. I loved the ease of use, it's lightweight, it gets into corners, the pop off piece for doing the stairs is awesome. But I got it in March and yesterday when I rolled it across the living room and put it in the upright position to plug it in, it completely broke in half at the pivot point. The seller is refusing to help me, so beware of buying refurbished goods from this seller, apparently they're not doing very good refurbishments or standing by them. ... show more

I have two West Highland terriers that shed quite a bit. To steam clean, the first step is to vacuum to pick up debris and hair. In the last 10 years, I haven't found a vacuum cleaner that effectively picks up the hair, as evidenced by the amount of hair that accumulates on the steam cleaner roll brushes (usually requiring cleaning the roll brushes three times per room). I got this vacuum cleaner, and when I steam cleaned, I did not need to clean the roll brushes once because the vacuum cleaner picked up all the hair! That is soo amazing! ... show more
