I rarely write reviews on Amazon but if I could give 10 stars for this product I would. We have carpets everywhere so that our dog can run zoomies safely. She is the zoomies queen. 3 different kind of carpet: Berber wall to wall carpet and rugs with irregular surface for high traffic areas and high pile rugs for living and dining rooms) AND we have a (Lab) x Husky x Gt Pyrenees mix - her fur has no Lab genes in it, as I always say she sheds only once a year but it lasts 365 days. Comes May, after 3 days our house looks like a yeti has moved in. AND I have chronic elbow issues so pulling and dragging the heavy vacuum daily is no longer an option. This Shark is super light weight, very easy to maneuver, very powerful, not noisy, it even has a light in front of it, 2 settings (for hard surfaces and carpets). We were looking for a tool to do a quick efficient effortless vacuuming so that our house looks decent every day and THIS is definitely the one. Value for money is top. (We had tried an expensive robot before and it could not handle Husky hair on carpet at all). This Shark is large enough and small enough. Also it is super easy to assemble. I'd recommend this vacuum for anyone

Well, I rarely write a review, but this time I thought I should. About a year ago I bought a Shark Vertex Pro Cordless Stick Vacuum. It was great, but I have arthritis in my hands and recent surgery that affects my arm strength. So after a month, I put it in the hall closet and gave up. I had seen the Shark Freestyle Max Cordless Upright Vacuum (this one) but was worried that it's size may not have enough suction power. But I was wrong! It worked amazingly. It rolls like a dream. It picks up dust, cat hair and kitty litter so well! The weight is carried at the bottom so vacuuming is a breeze for my shoulder. I'm embarrassed to say that a month later I bought a second one. Not because I needed a second, but because I was worried what I would do when it finally gave out. All the newer styles have the battery and works at the top and I wanted to have a backup that is easy on my hands and shoulder. It would be nice if there were attachments, but I have my corded vacuum for that. Secondly, it would be nice if you could buy a second battery to swap out when needed. BUT, I have never run out of power! So that hasn't been a problem. I would not hesitate to recommend this vacuum. Especially if you have stiff hands or shoulder issues. Love the easy use, stands well recharges easy the suction works great. We have two dogs who shed it works well on our vinyl flooring with area rugs. The head allows for easy access around furniture I also love how easy it is to empty and clean. We needed to find something that was high quality but easy to use, it’s quite lightweight. This SHARK is Sharp!!!

Sharp in design, performance, and quality: Customers should know that this Shark Freestyle Max ...is what you want. How can I say that? Well, #1, I had a smaller upright vacuum by Bissell which was pretty good for its size and abilities. But one thing prompted me to find another. I wanted the advantage of having LED lights at the bottom of the head. And I found it!! And am I happy with it!! Yes!! But that's not all. The noise lever is lower than all others I've had. The design with the Hard floor to Carpet to Off & On are all in one place on the head. It is very stable, easy to maneuver and ....get this....It picks up debris, hair, etc. better than my other vacuums. And it's pretty ( ahhh:-) The price was reasonable, especially since I'm "very" satisfied with it. If there's anything different I'd want it would be to extend a little more length between the canister and the head so that the head could go further under furniture, cabinets, etc. Not a major concern, however. No one paid me for this review. I appreciate Amazon's "Write a Review" feature. It helps me a lot. Hope this one will help whomever reads it. September 1, 2026- I'd like to add that the recharge plate upon which the vacuum is set has proved to be more easy and appreciated than having to find the charger and set it up. After it's use short or long, I always set it on the charger for the 'quick' start in vacuuming again. Also, the head can be next to baseboards & such & can suck debris up rather than me picking up the crumb under the cabinet. :-) I still have yet to remove & empty canisters, but the design looks assuring in doing that. ... show more

Overpriced, but checked all the boxes I was looking for

Battery lasts just long enough for the 2 rooms I do everyday. Picks up dog hair good without clogging. Very portable and lightweight. I like this design better than all the other cordless stick vacuums where the motor is on top. Seems durable enough, but I paid $150 at the time and I don't think it's worth more than that. I like that the charging base is on the floor and not mounted to the wall so it can be moved. There aren't any other affordable cordless vacuums with this design. It also has lights on the front which is a must have for me. Ive been using this daily for a couple on the and the battery is still lasting, I hope it continues to. The button to change the 2 power modes sometimes sticks and you have to push it several times to change it. Overall, Im happy with it. ... show more

First shark device i'm not enthusiastically impressed by.

Diaclaimer, or maybe credentials? I'm a huge shark fanatic, and have been since i bought one of thwir early vacuum offerings many years ago (10?) Which is still going strong without needing anything other than minor maintenance. I'm also mildly obsessed with vacuums in general, i have more than one Kirby, dyson, multiple wet/dry vacs. (dysons use absolute garbage tier plastics and seem designed to break as often as possible, dont recommend a single model and i've used, disassembled, repaired, and thrown away almost all of them.) This was purchased to replace Dyson stick vacuum with we've had long enough for the plastic to just start randomly cracking and falling apart (about 6 months for them) it had gone through multiple repairs, a head replacement with a dirt cheap chinese version (that lasted 3x as long as the original). But i digress... I was originally... really disappointed. I opened the box, spent 30 secomds or so "assembling" the thing, and was shocked, and a bit worried, at just how light this thing is. It was offputting considering its styled after a traditional upright vacuum, just smaller. It was so light it just felt cheap... But i pushed down my fears, charged it up, and turned it on. Which is when disappointment #2 hit... this thing is QUIET. Light and quiet are the opposite of what my brain has come to expect from a quality vacuum. 2 strikes now, but still, does it suck? (dirt) or in our case, hair ... we have way too many dogs, among them, a husky german shepherd mix, and a very large german shepherd, so our carpets are more hair than carpet. And i breathed a sigh of relief, this thing does, indeed, suck. It actually seems to pick up more hair faster than the dyson did. So the "light" and "quiet" concerns were pushed out of mind. But then, after about 30 - 45 seconds of vacuuming, i found a legitimate complaint. It was absolutely packed full of dirt and hair, so much so that it was in the upper chamber as well, which requires a bit of extra effort to clean out. The bottom chamber has an issue as well, if youre sweeping a good bit of hair in that it has sort of an enlarged "spool" attached to the swing out door on the bottom which makes anything other than small particles absolutely refuse to fall out into the trash. I basically have to reach in and dislodge the hair and dirt by hand, every single time i empty the canister. Granted if you dont have pets, or a house full of girls (who also apparently shed) this might not be an issue. TL:DR, Shockingly light, shockingly quiet, great suction dirt, hair, and small debris pickup. Great shark ingenuity i've become accustomed to, and what i love about them (easy maintenance, access to brushroll, etc.) Dust bin is MUCH too small in my opinion, constantly needs emptied. Really seems like this would be great for a small mess pickup vacuum, but thats it. Its the first shark anything i've had that honestly feels cheap and kind of flimsy. It works, but it just feels like it was maybe the beginning of corporate bean counters wanting corners cut to shave off production costs and drive up profits. 3.5 stars for now. ... show more
