I have 2 small dogs that constantly mess on the carpet and I bought this so that I can shampoo the carpet and rugs frequently and efficiently. I have not found anything negative about it. It is lightweight, easy to use, does a great job, and is easy to take apart and clean. I don't have a laundry tub, so after I take off all the parts to clean separately, I lift the entire machine up into my kitchen sink and rinse the lower half off. It maneuvers very easily around my house. With just 2 settings to work 1) shampoo and vacuuming up the water 2) vacuuming only it is so easy to use. The dirty tank ends up looking like black thick mud water once I'm done, so I know it's doing a great job and my carpet looks clean after. With the extra vacuuming function run over the carpet after shampooing, more water gets pulled out and the carpet dries quickly. I bought a refurbished model and I wouldn't have known that it was not brand new. I recommend purchasing refurbished models for much less than brand new and you can always do what I did; purchase the insurance on it for a bit more. The price is very good and even when money was tight, I was able to purchase this when I was desperate to clean my carpet and actually get to keep shampooing my carpet when I need to. I am very happy with my purchase for what I spent on it considering that a rental is 1/3 of the price I paid to be able to use my own weekly. My house no longer smells or looks like a barnyard.

Perfect. The cleaner that comes with it is fresh smelling without being overpowering. This is easy to use and definitely gets the job done. I liked that it isn't so heavy and bulky that it was easy to handle. Despite my vacuuming good before using, it managed to find my cat's hair embedded in the short knap of my rug. It kinda bunched the wet hair up in clumps but just picked it up by hand. It was nice it didn't block up the shampooer. Carpet dried completely within a few hours maybe sooner --I waited to be absolutely sure. Very pleased with the price too.

I found the machine easy to use and light to push around. It worked great and I liked the dryer button made the rug dry so fast.I rented machines that did not do as good as this one. I am 72 and do not want to work so hard this machine was just like vacuuming dis not break a sweat

It's worth the price... and easy to clean .. and has a weight to it so it helps getting deeper in the carpet with the weight .. but it's not heavy .. as mY bissle is lightweight and has all these components you can get to, to clean .. with the Shark .. you're able to detach the dirty water bucket area from the filter and junk to make it work .. and so you're able to empty out all of the gunk.. the carpet cleaner picks up ... and it made my carpet look brand-new.. fluffy and smells good with out any smell left behind .. but cleaner .. Ohhhh it also has a dry mode separate from the deep clean so it takes half the time to dry .. I also have shark lift away ...vacuum.. and highly recommend Shark .. I also use to be a professional cleaner and we always just went with Shark.. because it's quality structure wise..

I wasn't looking to spend a lot of money because I only have 2 runners that I need to keep clean. I ordered this shampooer based on the reviews and the price. It arrived nicely packaged and included a small bottle of cleaning solution. The only thing you need to do is unbox it and put click the handle into place. Once I read over the directions I added the water and solution and powered it on. There are 2 buttons for use, one does the shampooing and the other helps to dry the rug. It didn't take long to do both of my runner and I can't even tell you how surprised I was to see how well this worked! The water was black! I did have to empty the dirty tank one time (the vacuum actually goes into a different mode and won't continue working when you need to empty it). The tank was very easy to empty and put back in to finish the job. After I was finished I took out both tanks and emptied them and also took off the base piece, which covers the spinning brush to thoroughly clean it. The ease of getting to the places to clean is great! I actually used this on wool and it did pull up a lot of it, but in a good way...the rugs look brand new! The vacuum isn't overly loud and is pretty light weight to move around when it isn't filled with water. The only complaint I have is the smell of the cleaning solution, I hate it! I had to open doors and put on fans to get the carpets to dry to get rid of the smell. I think from here on out I will make my own solution to use instead.

I really like Shark products because they are easy to clean and troubleshoot. I can't say I have tried a ton of carpet cleanings but the ones I have tried have all suffered a fairly quick death in the presence of my dogs. I could vacuum an hour, then run a carpet cleaner and have dog hair in the bristles. It doesn't take a lot of imagination to realize that if you do that a couple times, you could have a real problem on your hands. Even though I clean my carpet cleaners the best I could, most simply didn't allow access to really clean out all the parts without some special training or something. Shark's modular design makes it EASY to take things apart and clean them. After each use I can do a complete cleaning and have it work as well as new each time. Even when my son uses it, and doesn't clean it out, not worries I can go back and make him clean it later and its no big deal, even after a few uses.
