This portable vacuum is powerful and useful for cleaning our couch. Not too noisy, it's very easy to control and maneuver, it has a strong suction and it's easy to empty. We don't have pets, so I can't say definitively if it works well on pet hair, but based on what I saw it should be perfect. We used to have a Shark handheld vacuum that we used when we had pets with long hair, and it worked great. I'm assuming it works at least as well as that one. The small brush attachment cleans my wood table, getting in the lines in the wood. The crevice tool gets in corners and cleans ledges. Great suction, easy to use, small and handy. I took a chance on this, found it on sale, read good reviews, and had just bought a Shark upright that I am very happy with. But 6 hours to charge? Maybe this is typical, I have never bought a handheld vacuum? Maybe this wouldn't be so bad if it had a docked charging station to live on. And full charge lasts only 12-14 min with continuous use. Pros: Good suction (a big plus), worked very well to vacuum out my car, just as good as drive-in vacuums at the car wash with the bonus of being cordless, lightweight, easy to maneuver, and with a variety of attachments. Easy push-button to empty the bin. Cons: Only 12-14 min on a full charge (although suction was strong right up until battery died), and full charge takes 6 hours!! This was long enough to vacuum out the cabin of my car that had not been vacuumed for quite some time, which was good, but battery died before I could get to the trunk/cargo area, so had to save that for the next day. Also, no docking bin. The 3 attachments are great, but you have to find a way to organize and keep track of them. I wish it had a docking/charging station (esp given long time to charge) that also stored the extra attachments. ... show more

Just bought another one of these hand held vacuums, the other one I had lasted(and it still working just not as mighty) over 10 years. The Shark brand is the best hand held vacuum I ever had and the newer version that I got is even better. I originally gave this 5 starts, but after less than 90 days I have to change to 1 star. I'm a huge shark girl. I have owned 2 Navigators over the last 17 years, I have the steam cleaner, and several other products. I only owned 1 handheld vac prior to this one and we loved it it was a Bissel Pet one that lasted 8 years and used and abused regularly. It finally lost suction so I tried this model. I don't like it at all. I'm better off lugging my Navigator lift-away out.!! This hand held has subpar suctions. It tends to blow or spit out what you try to pick up. The dust cup is terrible. I have a hard time opening it. It doesn't release very well and it's a struggle. To make matters worse once you get it open you have to reach in and pull out the hair and particles that are behind the 2 yellow filters and stuck on them. Then you have to roll it over to get what fell into the cup lid. There is now dust and dirt everywhere and all over the trash bin and my hands. The more I use this the more I am disappointed. It does not pick up fine dust, in fact it tends to blow it out all over the side of the vacuum. It really doesn't suck very well. You need to angle it just right for it to pick up. The crevasse tool is not effective. It does not pick up anything. I can't tell if the suction is that poor or if the the plastic is too thick and the tool is too narrow. This model doesn't even pick up a plastic bag. It is very long and awkward to use. I've had no charging issues, but it's done after 10 minutes of usage. This model is also very loud. When I use it on my couch it doesn't even suck up the upholstery let alone dust. We recently we through construction and my furniture had a thick coat of dry wall dust on it. this vac only drew lines in the dust from the side of the plastic. I wish I didn't buy this product. Iā€™d say itā€™s pretty rare that I get excited about buying things like vacuums, but this has been one of the best purchases Iā€™ve made lately. It was a bit of an impulse by I really didnā€™t want to take too much time to look at 1 million different versions and compare all the reviews. I decided to just take a chance on this and Iā€™m glad that I did. Itā€™s very easy to use and it does have a small trash container. It allows me to use it for small projects without having to empty it multiple times. The best part is how easy it is to use. Itā€™s convenient to be able to pick it up. walk around with it and get into small spaces. A charge doesnā€™t last super long but again this is something that is just gonna be for tidying up in small quantities. it would work well for cleaning your car and the charge would definitely last long enough to clean your car a few times I guess depending on how gross your car is to begin with. Overall, it has great quality very decent suction and it comes with a couple different attachments if youā€™re into that kind of thing. I tend to really only use the basic nozzle. If you do plan on sucking up a lot of hair or anything too thick it can get stuck and you may need to touch the inside of the trash receptacle to get it out. But for the most part, you can use the button on the side to empty it without having to touch anything that you just sucked up. Iā€™ve never been this excited about a vacuum, but it has made things much easier to get into smaller spaces which a regular vacuum canā€™t always do.
