  • Works very well
I just recieved the 1/4" sewing foot. I make a lot of quilts/wall hangings and exact1/4" seams are critical. If you use straight pins to hold the block pieces together during sewing, be aware that you will have to change to direction of pinning. There is a flange on the outside ( right side) of the foot that runs along the raw edge of the fabric. Nothing should be in its way. I normally placed my pins on the right side of the sewing line, points heading inward. Because of the flange, I had to change so the pins are on the left side of the sewing line, points heading toward the raw edge. That way the foot can run over the pin points but they are out of the way of the flange. I did have a consistent 1/4" on my completed blocks. Also, my machine is a Brother GX37. I had to readjust the needle position slightly to the left because the 1/4" foot hole is placed differently from the previous foot I was using. Just play with your settings a bit until the needle is positioned correctly. This foot fits several different types of machines. Scroll down the descriptions to see if your machine in is listed in that group. ... show more

  • Does the job
This is just perfect for sewing perfect 1/4” seams. Easy to take on and off. I use it on a Janome machine.

  • Worthless
I am doing my next quilt project at our other home, on a Singer machine I only use occasionally. I like to use a quarter in guide foot with the "bumper". I ordered this one, thinking it was exactly what I needed. I sewed the first stitch and the needle was broken and the foot proved itself useless. The hole the needle should pass through was too small, or off-center or something. The needle struck the plate on the left edge. Then, when taking this foot off and reattaching it, the little snap-on bar broke off. In 50 years of sewing I have never dealt with such a piece of junk. ... show more

  • It may fit your machine but…
This fit properly on my machine, but there is a guide indention on my faceplate exactly where the guide blade runs, so fabric would slide under the blade. I have a fixed stitch Baby Lock machine so could not avoid this problem by moving the needle, and there are no alternative unetched faceplates.
