  • Honestly not a huge fan of this chair, but for the price, it works.
Color: Black/Grey Style: Microfiber
Decent desk chairs are expensive, period. This one was on sale for a good price, Serta is a brand I recognize...and most importantly, it was the ONLY one with a payment plan option, at the time that suited my needs. I simply don't have the cash to drop off $200+, all at once, so this was the only one that fit my situation. The padding in the seat might as well be non-existent. My back/hips hurt within a few hours of sitting in it. I've had to install a pillow in the seat, and use a throw blanket, to make it comfortable enough, for daily use. I'm not even finished paying for it, and already it has weird squeaks and pops, as if it's 5+ years old, instead of 5 months. While it was easy to assemble, it also needs the screws re-tightened, every month or so. Look, I won't pretend I'm not a bit overweight, and maybe people like me need to just spend more on chairs, in order to serve that need. But I am not morbidly obese, and I don't treat furniture like it's playground equipment, so I expected more out of the chair. It works, and hopefully will for at least a couple of years, before needing to purchase another...so I guess that's as good as it gets. ... show more

  • Cheaply made, plastic, uncomfortable seat - only made for tall people!
Color: Black/Grey Style: Microfiber
UPDATE: 3/11/18 I bought this chair 9/1/18. I had my doubts about it at first, but have raised my initial 3 star rating to a 5 star! Read my last update below for more info, but I am still using the chair to get around the house some of the time although I am beginning to walk a few steps here and there again since my severe injury back in November. I really thought that the wheels were going to give out since they aren't designed for how I've been using the chair, but they are still fine! It's still very comfortable, and I've had no problems with it. If you spend a lot of time in the chair, I'd recommend after a few months going back and tightening the screws that hold the arms to the base and the back. I did that last month and they had loosened a bit from when I first put it together. I'm keeping the allen wrench that came with the chair in my office close at hand so I can keep checking their tightness every couple of months or so. VERY happy with this, so well worth the money! UPDATE: 1/31/18 I've now had this chair for nearly 5 months. I decided to keep it since I could not find one I liked better, and needed a chair ASAP. I'm significantly more impressed with it now than I was when I first received it! My initial review was three stars, I've now increased that to four stars. Over two months ago, I tore a ligament in my foot. Major issues with getting around! I ended up grabbing my office chair here, and using it to sit in, using my good foot to push myself around the house. I've been doing this for two months, and it has been so extraordinarily helpful! I am a bit concerned that the wheels might be starting to give out, but then again the amount of wear and tear I've put on them in the past two months is significantly more than one would normally rolling office chair around. I have adapted to the shape of the chair, and find it so much more comfortable now than I did at first. I love how soft the back is, I've adjusted to the seat being harder and tilted a bit. The padding on the arms is an extra bonus. I would bring this up to five stars if I weren't so concerned still about how the arms attached to the seat and the back. Still concerned about longevity. ------------------------------------- I received this chair yesterday (9/7/17). It was not nearly as easy to put together as the listing makes it seem, it would be much easier with two people. Finally have it together and using it. First off, most of the parts are plastic. Very poor quality. Not sure if I will keep this or send it back at this point. I purchased this because my very old previous desk chair fell apart recently, resulting in a frightening neck injury. The arms are held onto the seat by 2 screws each, and the back is only held onto the arms by another 2 screws on each side. The back does not directly attach to the seat at all. I'm feeling very concerned about it breaking like my old one did (although that one had been used for several years first!). I'm also very disappointed that the seat doesn't go any lower. I'm a 5'3" woman with short legs. I can't come close to touching the floor with my feet, even with this on the lowest setting. Seems ridiculous to me; I know many women who are much shorter than I am! Dangling my feet in the air like a child is not conducive to working at my desk or feeling remotely comfortable. There is also a lack of comfort in this chair. With padded upholstery, I expected to have a bit of a cushy feel in the seat, and it is quite hard. The fabric itself is soft, but you definitely don't sink down into the seat at all. I also greatly dislike how the front of the seat slopes downward, which is really uncomfortable in any seated position. Makes me feel like I'm going to slide off of the chair, and if it were slick like leather instead of microfiber, I probably would! The seat is also not as large as I expected it to be based on the measurements given; plenty large enough for sitting regularly with feet on the floor (which I can't do with this), but I'd wanted to be able to sit in it cross legged and it's definitely not wide enough for that. One more note: you cannot tilt back at all in this chair as most office chairs do. You can only sit up straight and swivel. About the only two positive things I can think of about this chair are that the fabric is super soft, I love that the arms are padded - the arms on my old chair were wood over metal and were very hard and uncomfortable. ... show more

  • Love the design but...
Color: Beige Style: Microfiber
The chair is lovely, comfortable and affordable; the assembly was relatively easy until the final screws, which were nearly impossible to align and secure the chair back with the arm rest. I eventually got it, but it was very frustrating. Now that it is together, I am enjoying it.

  • Comfortable but needs more cushioning
Color: Black/Grey Style: Microfiber
Overall I'm happy with this chair but I did add cushions to the seat and back for comfort. I was surprised it didn't have more cushioning since it is a Serta product.

  • Decent Chair, But it has One Unique Setback
Color: Black/Grey Style: Microfiber
I decided to wait a year until reviewing this product so I could give an accurate testament to it! On a budget, this is a pretty okay chair to go with! It's still held together after a year, so no complaints there. I wasn't expecting any kind of support on the cushion, so comfort is pretty okay too. I haven't had any pain issues on my back or otherwise since using it! I think my favorite feature of this chair are the soft armrests. They are very nice, and sit at just the right level, even if they aren't adjustable :> Okay now for the cons :'D After maybe three or so months, the chair started squeaking quite a bit. So just be aware that if you have a roomie or s/o who hates squeaky sounds, then maybe go with a different chair (luckily my s/o is totally fine with the noise haha). Its just the sort of thing that happens with cheaper chairs, which is alright if you're on that budget. Secondly, although the microfiber covering feels really nice you need to beware if you live in an area with dry air (like Southern California, for example). I didn't realize it at first, but if you live in a dry climate and have a carpet floor this chair becomes.... scary. Why? Because if you touch any metal surface when you stand to get up out of your chair, you will get a BIG electric shock. I'm 100% serious on this--and it really startled me when it started happening! Sometimes the shocks would get so big, I could actually see light coming from my fingertip. It can be a little painful if you don't remember to discharge the electricity somehow (i.e. I touch the wall to get rid of the static buildup after standing up). I wear socks all the time, so this also factors into the static buildup. I have metal parts in my desk that I use this chair with, so unfortunately shocks are frequent for me. Just something I gotta live with until I get a new chair or a cover I guess! That being said, I'm still fine with purchasing this chair. I really needed it at the time, so I appreciate the price it was going for. tl;dr - the major setback this chair has is static buildup it makes due to the microfiber cloth its made of ... show more
