I decided that I wanted to change up where & how I use my laptop. I bought a rolling table meant for use while in bed & this chair so I can wheel them wherever I feel like using my machine. It works for whether I want to get on it in front of our balcony door to watch the birds while listening to a podcast, next to my hubby's desk so we can share things we're exploring online or to take it into my daughter's room to watch a film with her on it; Brilliant if I do say so myself! My husband assembled this chair for me but it gave him a little grief. First, it's a little fiddly getting everything aligned to screw everything together. The instructions are simple & so is the task itself but it'd probably be easier for 2 people to assemble it than one. Second, some of the screws are unnecessarily long & the alen wrench it came with was made out of really soft steel so by the end of the assembly the chewed up alen wrench was messing up the screws due to slippage. My first impressions were as follows. At a glance it looks like a decent computer chair. Beyond that cursory inspection though, you can absolutely tell that this is something purchased on a shoestring budget. The casters, chair base & arms are all entirely made up of plastic. (Minus the arm/side section cushion pads, of course.) The piston that supports the seat is heavy steel & seems pretty firm. Still, I somehow doubt the validity of a 400 Lb person using this chair. I don't anticipate any 400 Lb people sitting in mine so it should be fine? My husband jokes that I have an (a word that rhymes with bass) of mass destruction. I can't really argue with him on that though since I can't count all of the chairs my behind has sent to the landfill or scrap heap on one hand! There are four padded components. One for each arm/side section of the chair, the seat & back. They're firm, so if you like that kind of thing, it'll be great for you. However if you plan to spend more time in the chair you might want to add a folded blanket under your tush & maybe drape a thick quilt over the back & arms. As for the functional components though, the casters roll great both on short carpet & on paneled floors. It is easy to adjust the height; Though I haven't had to change it since I set it to the lowest it will go. That's the perfect height for my feet to be planted flat on the floor. (I'm 5'3") I also have the reclining setting left at the stiffest it can be so it won't let me lean back. Due to my height, although it lacks purposeful support for the neck, it's perfect for me. It wouldn't work for my husband at 5'9" let alone our 6' son though. There are other chairs available on Amazon that offer purposeful neck support. If you want a "decent" office chair, don't plan to spend long periods of time in it & just need something basic though, this is the chair for you! If you're on a budget, you can make it work too, as I suggested above. However, if you want something that doesn't look too cheap, maybe is obviously more sturdy & plan to spend long hours in a chair? Maybe pick up something ... "more" here on Amazon or elsewhere.

My uncle had a chair much like this for 6 or more years of daily use. He gave it to me and it lasted about another 6 years of daily use as both of us worked out of our houses in front of our PCs. My next chair was some cheap ergonomic chair that fell apart in no time. When I saw this 400lb chair I wondered if it was the same company / model chair that I got from my uncle. I'm only 250lbs but I wanted something that would last. I ordered it and it seemed similar. I could immediately tell there wasn't the same amount of padding and the height adjustment mechanism really seemed really cheap. Since I owned my uncle's chair, I had also started using a laptop & tablet so I wasn't sitting in front of my office PC very much at all. Instead of 12 or more hours a day, it might be more like 8 hours a week or less. In just a few months of chair use, the padding on my mouse hand armrest flattened to nonexistence. I also needed to buy an extra seat cushion almost immediately. Within 9 months of barely weekly use, the "heavy duty high-end hydraulic gas cylinder" for height adjustment broke. I wasn't even sitting in it. I came home and my chair seemed low. I sat in it, raised it up and could immediately feel it lowering slowly. But golly gee I'm in luck! I see now there is an entire industry for replacing these things that used to last for decades and now only last for months. I wonder if Amazon's AI can predict when these will fail and have a subscription handy so I can keep buying this garbage again & again & again? For 35 cents more the manufacturer can make the part last for a decade or more. But instead they are intentionally making critical parts disposable.

I'm 80+ and sometimes it's hard to give up the 'old chair'...that was me!! I finally realized the old chair had to go! I searched and searched and I kept coming back to this chair. I put it in my favorites and as I'm still looking, I find myself coming back and reading it again!! Finally, I can't stand my 'old chair' another minute....I go back...check my choices and decided I had to have this chair and ordered it. It came really fast (like it knew how badly it was needed ;-] ) It was very easy to put together with just a little help from my son toward the end....so now is the moment!! I sit down in the chair...I can't believe how it feels! Absolutely FABULOUS!! I'm trying to remember why I waited so long! Well it's here now....I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT...AND SO DOES MY SON...AND MY GRANDSON!!! Thank you for a FABULOUS CHAIR!!!
