    • No fan to blow heat around.

It doesn’t have a fan to blow heat around because a person have to sit very close to feel the heat. I’m disappointed about it not having a fan because the heat output is not there. I’m trying to figure how to pack item back up for return. It’s pretty to look at but that’s it.

time will tell. The Bad: 1: NO assembly instructions. It was not too hard to figure out. But for some people it might be tough. Two people would make it easier to put together. I did it by myself by leaning the unit upside down into the corner of the room with carpeted floor to protect the top. Minimally the drawing they supply could be better. 2: There is no grab point or handle on it to move it around easily once it's assembled. It's heavy. 3: It's expensive. The Good: 1: It is well made as it should be for the price. 2: Operation is smooth and quite. 3: I haven't had a chance to use it on cool night yet. It seems to kick out a decent amount of heat. So hopefully the heating element is of good quality. I'll report back when I have used it some more... ... show more

Looks great, heats quickly and evenly. As others said, the instructions left a lot (mainly, labeling of the screws) to be desired, but assembly wasn't actually that bad. You'll need two AAA batteries and a screwdriver (not included). I'd recommend laying it horizontally across two chairs to assemble rather than upside down, and have a second person handy to hold the weighted base in place while you screw it on. Also, tips on the screws/bolts: the black ones go with the black plastic cover at the top. There are 4 sets of silver bolts for the base. The very short wide silver bolts go on first to attach the first small plate. Save the long skinny silver pair for last. You'll be left with two sets of larger silver bolts, one slightly longer than the other. Use the shorter of these two next, to attach the black bar to the first plate. Then use the longest of the large bolts and the two washers to attach the weighted bottom plate. Finally use the long skinny silver bolts to attach the small plastic "camping board" that holds the electrical cord in place. Also make sure to remove the foam pieces that are cushioning the glass bulb inside before turning it on! If any of them arrive stuck inside the metal grate (second picture), I found a pair of tweezers did the trick to finangle it out. All in a high quality heater that looks great, with a small footprint. Just what I was looking for. ... show more

Having a remote controlled heater with a timer is nice. I also like the modern design. Unfortunately, it's not as good at producing heat as I expected. It comes with 3 settings. 500 Watt (Low Heat) - This setting is pretty much useless. 1000 Watt (Moderate Heat) - This is the minimum I would use it on. 1500 Watt (High Heat) - It's okay. Can heat a small room slowly. In my opinion, this product consumes too much electricity for daily use. Base board heating is more efficient for indoor use. I suspect central heating and gas heating are too. I recommend limiting this product to occasional outdoor use in close proximity to a seating area. Also, strangely enough, a cover is not included to guard against insects and spiders. Beyond that, assembly was difficult with unclear instructions. It will take trial and error to put together as it's not clear which screws go where. The instructions don't state it clearly, but be sure to take the foam pads out before use. Also, don't make the same mistake I did of putting the base on backwards. It was such a chore to put together, that I refuse to take it apart to try again. Good luck! ... show more

Very easy to put together. I used this on a rainy night outdoors and it gave enough heat to keep everyone comfortable. I am happy with this purchase and am very happy with how the functionality of this heater. It is slim enough and lightweight.
