I don't know how I went without one of these for so long. There is no smell, I am able to control the air freshener with my phone, and the cats weren't afraid of going in. It's small enough to fit in a smaller space and is easy to set up with the app.

Update: All of the input from my original review still holds. For the most part, this self-cleaning litter box is fantastic. Here is the issue: when it is time to wash the barrel the process is not easy. First, it is nearly impossible to get all of the cat litter out of the barrel. The automatic function for that helps, but it does leave litter in the barrel. Owing to the barrel design, it is even difficult to try to shake it all out. Secondly, if your cats urinate on the wall or edge of the litter, then the vent can get wet litter in it that is hard to get out and the urine can also seep behind the silicone litter holder. On mine, I saw where it had seeped through a seam in the barrel. Third, there does not seem to be a way to access part of the barrel between the comb and where the bag attaches. Fourth, there are numerous places where litter gets trapped that are nearly impossible to get it out, particularly if it has been wet. It probably took me an hour this morning trying to clean the barrel and it was the same situation in the past for cleaning as well. Because of this, I am changing my rating from five stars to three. That way, it is an average of what I really like about this litter box and what I don’t like. Original Review: I set this litter box up yesterday and so far have been pretty happy with it. Setup is super easy. It also has an app, but the app is not required. The app does provide for convenient control of settings though and can also send notifications on litter box use. The front panel has icons to indicate function status, WiFi connection, and other information. The inside of the barrel has marks for the max and min litter levels, which is really helpful for filling and keeping an eye on litter amount. After adding litter, the unit will level it. The self cleaning mode sorts the waste from the litter and dumps it into a bag. The bag is easy to access and can be replaced when full. The bag is also easy to attach although there are no instructions. When cleaning, the barrel rotation is quiet. The UV sterilization is silent. The only possible issue that I can see at this time is for cats that urinate just outside of the litter. Then, the litter sticks to the side of the barrel and needs to be scraped off (like sticking to the side of a regular litter box). I have not yet pulled the barrel off to clean it so don’t yet know how difficult that will be.

We LOVE this litter box! It really makes cleaning up litter and taking care of that part of cat ownership super easy! Very easy to set up the litter box straight out of the box, and I had the hardware set up in just a few minutes. The included app functionality is really nice as well and the included instructions were clear on how to get it set up and I was able to get that part done relatively quickly as well. I could tell the English translation was not done by a native speaker, but rather by a translation program, and not checked because it seemed a little "funky". It's not a bad thing, but just something to note. The ability to set up specific timers and receive notifications when the box needs to be cleaned, when the cat is done with his business, and even the cat's weight so we can track if he's sick or anything is so nice to have and helps me stay on track of keeping his litter clean so we don't have any more accidents on the floor or anything. The only thing I may suggest is making the barrel slightly larger to give the cats more room when using the litter box. We don't have a large cat at all, but he seems to have very little room to maneuver when using the little box so it would be nice to find a way to make that part a bit larger to accommodate larger cats, but it does work very well for us.

While I’d love to give an honest review of this litter box after seeing it in actual use, I can only review what I know so far, and what I know is that this litter box has been sitting next to another litter box for almost a month and so far: nada. It’s definitely smaller than I thought it would be, but is still big enough for even our Catty McFatty…if only she’d go in! I’d like it even more if our 12 year old would try it. She tends to poop and go, not bothering to cover up. Unfortunately her litter box of choice is the LR box. Needless to say, we’re all quickly aware every time she goes. If she were to start using this automatic litter box, we might get some relief without having to immediately jump up and empty her litter box (like I’m about to do right now, ironically…). Anyway, I set it up…after I found the instructions, power cord, and extra bags hidden inside the top of the unit (see photo with arrow). It would have been REALLY helpful if there was SOMETHING hinting that I should look there first, having never had an automatic LB before. Once I found that, things were smooth from there. I would say that there’s really only one thing to NOT do: overfill. You’ll only waste litter. After I plugged in the LB, it set itself up. I filled it up, watched it run a cycle, and was pretty satisfied. Now, if only our cats would USE IT!!!! It keeps showing that it’s $500, but I’ve never seen it for more than $400. Since I’ve never owned/purchased any other automatic litter boxes before, I have nothing to compare it to price-wise, so you’d have to do your own research. What I can say is that this does not take up much more space than a large, covered LB does. If you’re looking for one of these litter boxes, but are concerned about space, you might want to consider this one.
