We got this bike and it’s cute and all, but how am I expected to ride this with one pedal?? As you can see in the picture, the crank arm is t even threaded for us to screw the pedal into. So now we are left searching all over town for a bike shop that is able to help. Or order a new crank arm (which we had to do). Highly disappointed in the manufacturing of this bike! ... show more

I was a little nervous about buying this online as there a reviews stating their bikes arrived damaged. This isn't unforeseeable since this is a pretty heavy bike in a cardboard box. The box was damaged when it was delivered - the front forks had punched through the box and the bottoms of the forks were a little scratched up. The driver gave me the option to refuse delivery which was nice but unnecessary. My main concern were the fenders, but those were fine. There are a few reviews complaining about the fenders being bent and not on the bike straight. You need to tweak the fenders to get them in line with the wheels. It took me less than 3 minutes to get the back fender lined up. Tip: loosen the two screws on the bracket that holds the brace to the fender, move the fender to where it should be, and re-tighten the screws. Done. If you have no experience putting together a bike, are not patient, and/or not even remotely mechanically included you might want to think about going to your local bike shop. Overall a great bike and definitely do-it-yourself assembly friendly if you have patience ... show more

My husband and I like to take leisurely rides on Rails to Trails, and I didn't need anything too intensive. We live in a hilly area, so this isn't the best option for me to cruise around town unless I want to be walking it up a lot of hills, but I knew that when I picked it out. Some other reviews have complained that it was difficult to put together, so I took it to a local bike repair shop, who assembled it for me for $40, a cost I consider well worth the preservation of my sanity and marriage. ... show more

I have to admit that after reading a few reviews concerning the amount of damage some these bikes sustained during shipping, I thought about not making the purchase. I thought surely these negative reviews must be a small sampling, so I took a chance (mainly because of the GREAT price) and I’m glad I did! I received the bike in 4 days and in perfect condition. The great care that as given in packaging this bike was exceptional! Not a dent and not a scratch! It actually took a little time getting this bike unpacked, that’s how secure the packaging was. It’s an average bike…I expected more from Schwinn so I’m disappointed ~ the quality is a little flimsy, so guessing it probably won’t last long. Also the back fender (other reviews mentioned) was scratched but not dented.
