OVERVIEW Smooth, nearly silent, and perfect for my needs. I am not a hardcore cyclist, and I don't have others to hold up for comparison. But I am very happy with this bike. I needed a way to get some real exercise, despite a bad hip and two bad knees. For whatever reason, I can cycle with zero pain. I set the resistance high enough that I work up a sweat and breath pretty hard, and then it's smooth sailing. The cycle is so quiet, my wife when watching TV in the same room says my breathing is louder than the bike. SOME SPECIFICS Below are some specifics about the various features: • The cycle feels sturdy. I'm a heavy guy, and it doesn't wobble or "give" in the slightest when I get up onto onto it. • Assembly took a little while but was not difficult, as the instructions were clear and there aren't too many parts. • Two "mods": I got a wide "comfort" seat, and I got a contraption to support my laptop, so I can check the news, email, whatever (I've reviewed that contraption, too). So I'm a happy camper. • One very minor issue: the knob to control the resistance is kind of sloppy relative to the digital readout on the console. It functions fine, but it could feel a little more precise. Sometime you have to flip the knob a quarter turn this way or that to get the resistance level you want. You also have to reach down to change the resistance on the fly. Again, it functions fine, but it could be more ergonomic. • I was able to adjust the seat height and angle to support me in a cruising posture (well, almost—it still wants you to put some weight on your arms), but it seems to be designed to allow riding in a racing posture, too. So it's versatile in that sense. • The resistance scale is 0-100, and at just 30 I work up a sweat. I expect that number will bump higher as I get stronger and build stamina. It was very important to me to get a good workout and have some room in the resistance scale to move higher. For the money, it's very well worth it to me. I needed a piece of equipment that I could use any time, in the comfort of my home, to get some real exercise. I do NOT need fancy subscription exercise routines.

Well worth the investment, user friendly, easy and challenging all in one

WOW! let me start with I would have given this a 4 1/2 stars but...wanted to let you know this is a 5 star bike! My reason for 4 1/2 stars...the power attachment is on the lower left of bike is on the floor.. I have this in my garage and tripped over the power cord several times...So I used zip ties-re routed power to below seat and then used a one plug extension cord to plug in on garage ceiling...Now the bike.. I had a felt resistance bike for 5 years and that felt wore out and I decided I wanted to upgrade. So I researched and thought "Pelton" and other bikes with "attached"screens, However most bikes stated "warranty void if used in garage/or outside" as I would understand because the delicate screen..I also determined IF I had a screen issue in the future I would have a useless bike...and I also determined those bike with attached screens can ONLY be used with THEIR purchased apps... I began an in-depth research into this bike and learned you CAN access "Pelton" (I know spelled incorrect) app at a reduced price than if you bought their bike! I think 12 buck or so compared to their 39 bucks..I also learned there are several other apps that this bike can access and run...(via bluetooth with a tablet..ipad) I had an ipad and thought the delicate screen-the ipad- can be removed when not in use. and I didn't like the idea of "being locked" in to only 1 app-Pelton- only...I didn't think I would like a person "motivating" me along the way...so after weeks of thought I bought this bike.. I assembled it..pretty easy...I tried it out and it was on level "30" initially after assemble. I thought to myself "oh boy...no resistance..this is too easy.. I may have made a mistake" Remember I had a felt resistance bike prior with no readout so I did not know that "level" of resistance... So I increased the resistance and was very happy to see this went up to 100......I of course set this to level 55 and went to town....that was brutal after 20 minutes! I ride 20 miles or more on my street bike in the summer 10 days a month, I rode my felt resistance bike for 5 years 15 times a month-sometimes less- so I'm not "out of shape" thinking this was hard at level 55....so I got my ipad out went to utube and found some concerts I wanted to watch...connected my ipad to my stereo and jammed out! I have not tried any "apps" yet..but will this fall when I'm concert out..most all apps have a free trial....What I like about this bike is the looks,the sturdy feel, the spot of a tablet, the fact it is magnetic resistance......what a difference from felt resistance...the magnetic resistance is constant and consistent...I like the read out info.. I like it came with a heart monitor...that sort of took some googling to see how to connect..you start the bike in awake mode...press the bluetooth button on the bike computer and then press and hold the heart monitor button several seconds until it flash's pink..then start pedaling the bike..the heart flash's and your connected! then press and hold to shut off monitor when finished. Many reviewers stated the pedal becomes loose and starts to "click" I bought a small tube of loctite at the car parts store and assembled the pedals with that on the threads and had no issues..I bought this bike In april 2021 and I have rode 15-20 miles 3 times a week and it is still fun! I have no issues or concerns! It comes with attachments for "cleats"? shoes... I used the cage wraps....I ride in my slippers....attached garage. the only other issue....while the handle bar is shaped nice and has a weird flat spot for you hands/which you will love..is I am gong to get padded bike gloves..the handle bar is the same consistency of a sprayed in truck liner...not bad, but adding foam or bike gloves will make it perfect. And...my felt resistant bike was chain driven...I thought that was quiet..this is belt driven....it is silent... although as you can see in my pics/vid that the noise level of this bike didn't matter to me. I know there is no "one size fits all" but this met all my expectations and is a great workout for me.

Assembly was a breeze... watch a video and do it yourself

I ordered "used" so the packaging was awful. But that was part of the bargain so I wasn't upset about it. Single mom budget so saving a few hundred and getting the bike I really wanted was a HUGE plus. The bike seemed brand new and all of the pieces were present. I am guessing the package was damaged at some point but the bike was still brand new. Not a speck of dust or a scratch anywhere. Original plastic packaging/bags were still in place. I watched a YouTube vid and followed along so assembly was a breeze. Honestly, if I can do it so can you. Save yourself the $150 and assemble yourself. The bike works beautifully. On the 2nd day I noticed some squeaking in the pedals but again I just you tubed and there was a helpful video that showed you how to grease the screws in the pedals. Make sure you pay close attention when screwing in the pedals, the left one goes the opposite direction that what you think and doing it wrong could cause damage. Use a pedal wrench if you have one, but the tool that comes in the box will suffice. Make sure you screw things in very tight, but don't overdo it. I have been riding for over a week and NO issues. Love it. Whisper quiet. A peloton would be better if you really need to have exact cadence, speed and HR on your app but there are work arounds for that. The screen on the IC4 gives you an estimate of cadence and the bike comes with a HR monitor but I just set my apple watch to indoor bike and that woks fine for me, for now. I might get a wahoo cadence monitor later. The resistance is NOT THE SAME as the peloton, so if you are using the peloton app make sure you learn the conversion scale, otherwise you might burn out too quickly. For example, resistance 25 on Peloton is about 5 on the Schwinn. It's beautiful and sturdy! Everything is easy to adjust. The seat is SUCH good quality for this type of bike. The pedals have cages but on the flip side there are clips if you prefer to clip in. Two water bottle holders and weights right up front. I hear if you are over 6ft your knees might hit the water bottle holders but I don't have that problem. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I guess if I had to say one thing about it that I don't absolutely love. It's that the tablet holder isn't adjustable, but it's really not that much of an issue. I rigged it with a hand towel so my iPad screen was at the angle I preferred. I wish I would have made this purchase years ago instead of wasting time stressing about finding the best deal. Having one of these at home is one of the best investments you can make.

Smooth Ride!

I’ve had this bike for about a week and a half now. I had wanted to switch away from my friction resistance bike to magnetic resistance and did a lot of research, finding that this was highly rated indoor bike. I have to say that I am not disappointed. It rides incredibly smoothly. Like a dream, in fact! One of the only reasons I didn’t give it five full stars is because you have to plug the bike into the wall for the console to work. Which I didn’t realize when I purchased it, though maybe I overlooked that. But that’s really not that big of a deal. Some reviewers said that this item required two people to manage and assemble it. Well, let me tell you I’m a single woman and I work out in my basement. I was able to partially unboxed the bike upstairs and easily navigated the frame with flywheel attached down my basement stairs. If you are weak or have back issues, then you might want someone to help you if you need to navigate stairs, but it was not that hard if you are reasonably able-bodied. Beyond that, assembly was a breeze. Quite honestly, the most frustrating part was attaching the saddle. This is another reason I did not give it five stars. There’s a handle you have to attach to fasten and secure the saddle and it is a long lever. It takes a great deal of finagling to find a way to secure the seat without the handle sticking out to the side of the seat where your thigh hits on it while you’re riding. But with a little tinkering, you’ll be able to figure it out like I did. I thought that I would want to purchase a different saddle for the bike as my bum usually gets a little sore riding. However, the seat is shockingly comfortable! It has a little hole in the point of the saddle for, I honestly don’t know, getting some air to your personal bits. :) Super comfy. It also comes with a bowflex armband heart monitor, which I did not realize either. Much like many other heart rate monitoring devices, it is not incredibly accurate, but it does give you a vague sense of your effort level and something to work with during your workout. Likewise, the console does not take into account your age, weight, height , etc., which would give a more accurate calorie expenditure. But it does give you a general idea of where you’re at. I love that it shows a digital read out of your resistance level as it gives a tangible sense of progress in the development of strength. The bike is supposedly compatible with membership apps like peloton but I just use free YouTube videos. Overall, it’s a fantastic bike and I would highly recommend it! If you’re worried about how you’re going to get it into your house or manage it on your own, it’s not as bad as you think. Potentially. :) truthfully, when the Amazon delivery men arrived, I asked them if they could walk it the three steps up my front stoop and set it inside my living room and they very kindly did. I of course tipped them, but it was very kind of them to do me that service. It’s also simply very attractive! Great bike! I hope it holds up.

Good peleton alternative!
Style: Schwinn IC4 Indoor Cycling Bike
I bought this bike years ago during Covid as a way to get in some movement without buying the Peleton and I still love it! It’s magnetic so it’s easy to adjust the resistance. It was easy to put together. I did have an issue with one of the pedals squeaking so I sent the company a video and they sent me a replacement right away! It fits in a small space in my home gym and looks good too. The only thing I didn’t like is that the RPM display is hard to see the exact number your hitting (when I’m trying to follow a work out video) but then I found the app Kinetic and I was able to connect it via Bluetooth. I love that I can use regular shoes or biking shoes too.

this is an incredible indoor bike. well engineered, well thought out, whisper quiet, easy to put together, smooth pedaling; not a great seat , not great pedals. i threw away my pooboo, which was absolute junk!

Great Machine well thought-out

It is solidly built and relatively easy to put together. It took two of us about 45 minutes to assemble it. The console is clear and includes all the metrics that I use on my road bicycle — speed, distance MPH, pulse,etc. I track my pulse on my iPhone workout app, but this product also includes an arm band that transmits your pulse rate to the console. The resistance is easy to adjust with the turn of a knob conveniently placed. I highly recommend this machine as an alternative to a Peloton, which costs about twice a much.

Great quality & fun to ride!

So I am a busy working mom and I was working out at a gym and with a personal trainer but the scheduling was just not working. I decided on a bike back in the fall and spent about 5 months researching. I was going to get the peloton but at the last minute decided on the Schwinn. It was really bugging me that I’d be tied up with only peloton content and have to pay a costly monthly fee. I was also looking at even cheaper bikes but i wanted to stick with a good brand name, and I love that it has the monitor so my husband - who doesn’t care about classes - can just hop on and ride and see his metrics without additional screens, etc. Over a week in and I am so happy with my choice! I was going to use the peloton app or apple fitness, but it turns out there’s tons of great cycle classes on YouTube for free! No need to spend extra at this point. I can also use my regular sneakers so that’s a huge plus for me too! As far as delivery and assembly - I had it delivered the next day after I ordered. It was a huge heavy box but I was able to slide it into my garage and take everything out. I carried it in pieces to my basement and put it together with the help of a YouTube video in about an hour and a half. Mind you, I’m a 5’3” 113 lb woman. I did it all by myself. Yes it was heavy and awkward to carry myself, but I did it. It went together mostly easy, but the biggest issue was some of the smaller screws didn’t want to go in on the monitor. After messing with them for a bit I got them in. Once I got it all set up I tested it out. It is so smooth and a quiet ride. When my husband got back in town and saw it he noted how good it looks and he can tell it’s good quality. So far, I love it!
