The Schumacher FR01335 is a fully automatic battery charger and engine starter designed for use with heavy duty farm equipment. With 150 Amp (6V) and 200 Amp (12V) engine start options and 40A boost mode, this unit delivers results when you need it most. Microprocessor controlled to automatically adjust the amperage rate to charge and maintain, with multi-stage charging for added precision, safety and battery life. Includes float mode monitoring to automatically maintain optimum battery charge, as well as reverse hook-up protection with an LED light indicator that prevents the charger from operating if the clamps are reversed. I had one just like it that got burned up in a vehicle fire. I liked it so much I ordered another one just like it. I have a bulldozer, backhoe, and several tractors. I can hook it up to any one of them if they won't start, and in less tha 5 minutes they will start.

I have been using it on numerous vehicles. Sons corvette, my camper that has a large battery bank and my diesel pickup. Works great and has many options. I found it very helpful to read the manual. People complain about the cheap plastic handle. It seems fine to me and that being said. Its plastic so it doesnt conduct electricity. I have used it to hold the clamps in the past and I works well and because its plastic....No arcing! I recommend it. ... show more

I love this charger! I have had two Schumacher Farm & Ranch charges before. They both worked great, and my new one does, too. The paper manual is not too good, but the front panel display and controls are very intuitive to use.

    • If you use it to power a 12 volt system it will not work!

we use a battery charger to power a pump on our fuel storage tank, This charger can sense that there is no battery , so no current. We now have to have an old battery out there hooked to the pump for this thing to work. With that said every thing else about it is well build and looks durable.

Let me start out by saying Amazon did refund my money with no hassle at all and I do not believe this to be an issue with Amazon but more a concern with the manufacturer. The packaging is poor their is loose hardware rolling around inside the charger. I was hopeful that this was going to be a quality product but the workmanship is definitely lacking. ... show more
