  • This TV has so far worked great for me so far
This TV has so far worked great for me so far. I hesitated to buy it as so many other reviews said the sound was way to quiet to the point you can hardly hear it. The volume is on a scale of 1-100. I've never had it higher then 25 and that's only because I have a personal fan right by my head. Without the fan I might go to about 12. So I don't know what they were expecting. Or they just have hearing issues. For me this is a bedroom TV. So I'm not looking for a massive home theater experience from this hence the 24". If you need more sound get a sound bar. But the sound levels are more than sufficient for me and what I would expect from a 24" TV. DVD player works fine. No issues so far. Only thing I wasn't happy with and the reason for going down a star was the remote. All remotes should be easy to use in the dark by feel. Especially a bedroom TV which is what most people are doing with a 24". The buttons are very difficult to find in the dark. Just rows of small square buttons all the same size. So the only way to use in the dark is to memorize and count. Play = 4 down 1 over. Sleep = 2 down 3 over... So I usually have to use my phone light to look at the remote. You can find volume and channel easy enough but it'd be nice to find the basic DVD buttons much easier. ... show more

This is a bit early to be writing a review on this TV [ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ITNPI56/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0 ] since I only received it this afternoon and have used it only about an hour. However, since it has not been previously reviewed, this may help someone. I purchased it to replace my very small 12 year old TV we use in our RV. I tried to give it as thorough a test as I could in a short period of time. I live in an area of very weak TV reception where most TV's receiving their signal via antennas have those antennas on 20-40 foot towers and use signal amplifiers. Of course the antenna on my RV is not that high. I found that the reception was superior to that of my old TV (The ability of my old TV to pick up weak stations was quite good -- it was the size of the screen that was it's only deficiency.). It played DVD's (and audio CD's which, I believe, the info at Amazon.com does not mention ) quite well. The picture quality I would count as excellent. I did not think to test viewing from extreme angle, but at reasonable angles, it was great. Sound is about as good as one would expect from such a small TV: Not super high fidelity, but we had no complaint for ordinary TV viewing. On many TV's of this type, reviewers complain that the volume is inadequate. I believe the volume is sufficient to be heard over most ambient sounds like air conditioners, etc.] I will be taking it out in my 5th wheel trailer next week for a few days. If I anything causes me to change this assessment, I will update this review. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. For the money you juat can't beat it, good picture and the sound will do but could be a bit better. Using this for our camper so it'll work just I think. The only issue I found was like others have mentioned and it's saying it's vesa mount ready but the mount holes are 4" x 8" so I had to make a way to adapt to our vesa mount. ... show more

  • Use an external speaker
So far so good...just got the tv today...took it out the box and was able to use within 10 min. Very easy setup. Was very nervous about the volume...I was outside with a big shop fan going and I could hear the tv fine, although it was all the way up to 100. Another reviewer suggested using an external speaker, had a cheapo speaker from cvs and that was more than enough. I also tried a good external speaker and only had to go to around 15-18 on the volume. I will be using this outside camping, an one of those campers that like a tv on when sitting outside. ... show more

  • Bad quality + 0 customer service
Horrible, non-existent customer service from SceptreCS@sceptre.com. I could accept the horribly staticy sound of this cheap TV, you get what you pay for, BUT the remote quit working...even after replacing batteries. I've used this TV's DVD player a handful of times and the remote is essential in playing my DVDs while I'm working out, to select what to watch (episodes of my favorite sitcoms). If remote does not work, I can't select & play the DVDs; making this entire purchase useless. I have emailed Sceptre 3 times and have not heard back. It is infuriating. All they need to do is send me a new remote. Their claim of "priding themselves in their customer service" is laughable. They have NOT provided any assistance and have in fact simply ignored my emails. I am so over this trashy company and their blatant lies. Do not buy this TV ever!! It is HORRIBLE QUALITY ALL AROUND plus YOU WILL BE IGNORED if you contact company. The company and every person working for them, are a joke and should be ashamed of themselves. Disgusting experience. I guess I will have to go buy a universal remote to try to watch DVDs. Thanks for nothing Sceptre. You all suck and I wish you go out of business ASAP. ... show more
