Purchased for parent who had too many remotes and was new to internet television. Simple user interface with effective programming to television for control of mute, volume and power. The voice search and control was not considered but since it was included, it was tested. Excellent feature that saves a lot of time doing a letter by letter search at Roku home or on the various channel groups.     • Still my most favorite streaming service.
Moved back to mainland from Hawaii this past year and had to get rid of our Roku tvs. Getting to mainland I bought a google tv because Roku tvs were out of stock and I was impatient that day. This is the living room tv. It’s ok. We were given a Toshiba for our bedroom and we were using a laptop and hdmi cable to be able to use streaming planforms in the room for about a month before I caved and got this. Couldn’t decide about buying a stream bar or the express 4k. So far it’s been good and works the way it is supposed to! My fiancé likes the way the remote feels, very slick and nice. I love the sound buttons on the side and the way it can sync to your tv so you only have to use the Roku remote the majority of the time. This technology needed to have existed in the 90s when every house hold had 5 remotes for 1 tv. I’ve been using Roku since it came out back in 2015 or 2016 and I love how they’ve kept their programming simple but similar throughout the years keeping up with trends and advancements. 5/5 for me. ... show more

I disconnected my cable tv service because of the excess pricing and I only watch about 6 channels anyway. I got my own router. (That is reviewed elsewhere). I have 2 televisions hooked up with ROKU. One is a smart tv, the other is not. This work well on both of them. And the remote is nice because I don't have to first turn on the tv using the TV remote. It also has voice control on the remote and a volume control.This set does not have a remote control locator so, I stuck an extra "Tile" device on the back of the remote so we could find it easily. The remote is rather small and easily disappears into seat cushions, etc. The only thing I have not figure out yet (and so far this has only happened with MAX) is that ROKU kept disconnecting from the internet. I have a new modem and a new mesh router, so I may have to change settings with those, or it could be my ISP. I was able to reconnect via the ROKU app, but eventually had to pull out the TV to control to reconnect and finally had to restart my modem. So, to be fair, I do not know if the disconnection problem was with the modem, the router, the ROKU or the ISP. (ISP said I was getting service to the modem fine - but they always say that.) ROKU has the "Home" base to use. I could take everything off that was a pay for service app, except the ones I wanted to leave on. There are so many apps and so many channels to choose from that it is quite overwhelming. I was not really that interested in most of the ROKU "live" channels, but you can easily get to Amazon Prime, MAX, etc. from HOME, once you set it up, then set up your favorites in each app. The only thing I have bad to say about the ROKU device is that I wish it was a little bigger and had a couple more buttons to program for certain apps. Another thing to know is that when I disconnected my cable television, they did not cancel Disney+ and I could not transfer it to ROKU, so I had to cancel it on the Disney+ web site, then restart it under ROKU.     • Mostly a good purchase
I own a few Roku devices and TVs. This one started working fine. For some reason it apparently burned out the USB port in the back of the TV it was attached to rendering the USB port non functioning. Then Inow responds sporadically. It was able to completely control on/off/volume etc. but now I can only get it to run apps and control volume and mute. I no longer will turn the TV on or off. I have run the syncing or matching with the TV several times but still no luck. From when it was initially matched and working perfectly with the TV, no power or other connections have be changed before it started faulty performance. The remote, however, still works perfectly with other Rokus and the phone, which also worked perfectly, doesn't turn the TV on or off. ... show more
