Top Amazon Reviews

  • DO NOT confuse with Sandisk Extreme
Amazon has a mistake in their reviews. They have mixed reviews for the Extreme Pro with the Extreme. The Extreme Pro is almost twice as fast as the Extreme. The Extreme Pro has only been out a few months so reviews from 2018 are for the Extreme. The Extreme Pro is slightly larger than the regular Extreme, and will NOT fit in the cases Amazon suggests under "Customers also bought". You can easily identify which is which. The Extreme Pro has an orange metallic band around the perimeter, the Extreme is solid black. The Extreme Pro (using in Macbook Pro USB-c port) is wicked fast. Ideal for storing / transferring GoPro video. ... show more

  • About SanDisk Extreme PRO SSD 500GB; read speed up to 1050MB/s** (NOT)
I was previously using SanDisk Extreme SSDs (1TB and 2TB) and then purchased this Extreme PRO SSD of 500GB capacity, thinking I would get around 1000MB/s read speed, but it's not. Surprisingly write speed is more than the read, 913 MB/s write against 886 MB/s read. Made it extreme portable using USB-C to USB-C 3.1 gen 2 flex cable and slim mouse holder. You can get both here at Amazon: Cable: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PRLJKJP Mouse Holder: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SRZMN48 ... show more

  • Photographers perspective
Similar to the 550mb/s drive. This one is faster but not by a huge amount. The main difference is that with transfers over 70gig or continuous use - like with an Xbox etc. it has a better heat dispersion. So there is no speed throttle after longer use. It maintains speed throughout the transfer and doesn’t drop once it warms up. For that reason alone I recommend spending. With regular chronosync sessions it won’t take more than 3 minutes for a full 75 gig session. Epic. ... show more

  • I though it's gonna be 1050MB/s
So i bought a Sandisk Pro which advertised to be 1050Mb/s. After i plug in and drag the first file i notice it was pretty slow. So i ran the test shown in the picture. I don't know why my product act like this i saw there's also few other people in the review section experienced the same problem. I tried with other USB port still about the same result, I test the speed of my PC SSD drive it gave me couple hundred Mb/s means the test is accurate. It's a shame I have to return and look for another one. ... show more

  • Great Device. Horrendous Customer Care.
I use this with my iPad Pro 11 and it is amazing. I am able to edit large video files for long periods of time without eating up my on-board storage. It does heat up quickly when in use but only to a point then it maintains its that same temp for at least a couple of hours. That is the longest I have used this continuously. If you do run into any problems (not that you will) you are better off researching it and figuring it out on your own though. Their customer support is absolutely useless. Don’t let the complimentary flashback offer influence you either. It is a gimmick to try and get more money from you that doesn’t work anyway. Get the device, just skip the customer service and Flashback offer. This is just a very capable piece of hardware for you to use with no real support. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars. ... show more

  • Pretty decent speed for USB 3.1gen2, however QC could be better
Review for "Sandisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD 500GB E80": + Speed is pretty decent for this price point (reaching ~970MBps in both sequential read or write) + Not overheated; temperature under heavy use during benchmark still acceptable + Compact form factor; similar design to the previous model (E60) but with additional metal trim around edges + Two cables supplied instead of USB C to A adapter (1 short cable C-to-C + 1 short cable C-to-A) - QC from manufacturer could be better; item is factory sealed but trim around the logo looks chipped and faded in several places - Price is almost 50% higher than previous model (E60) ... show more

  • NOPE
Worked like the best external hard drive i ever had until it crashed on my computer. Both MacBook and SSD are six months old. SSD froze crashed computer and never recovered or was recognized by laptop. Troubleshot with apple, no luck. Sandisk software also didn't help....they are replacing it but I've lost all of my photos and videos for the last 6 months and I'm a professional photographer. ... show more

  • Best SSD in 2020!
These are great looking SSD, very light to carry around. Liked the looks better than Samsung and other brands. Above all, this is my first SSD and I wanted it to the best in the market currently. The reason why I chose Sandisk over Samsung T7(Fingerprint). Sandisk is weather-resistant, rugged, better warranty. Samsung T7 is prone to scratches and dents, whereas Sandisk is Also T7 comes with Fingerprint, lots of electronics on it, any day it could stop working. So I chose Sandisk over Samsung. Cons: -Wish they had a light indicator -Only with USB 3.1 Gen 2 you get the full read/write speed.(POINT TO NOTE) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note for people who are new to Sandisk SSD: There are two variants of SSD's from Sandisk 1) Extreme - Read/Write is half of this product 2) Extreme Pro - Read/write is 2x than Extreme(bit more expensive) I would recommend Extreme Pro and it is future proof. Recommend this item. ... show more
