I use flash drives daily. They work great but get pretty hot while in use. I've noticed that this drive doesn't get nearly as hot. Perhaps because it is based on the M2 style of chips rather than normal flash drive chips. The speed is good but varies depending on the USB speed of the motherboard. Not all are equal. It has a lot of capacity, it is reliable, and I feel like it wil last longer than the traditional flashdrive. The case is aluminum so you won't break out the lanyard hole. Whatever machine I am on, this drive has faster transfer speeds than a high end version of the traditional flash drive. They aren't cheap by any means, but if you are serious about your data's safety, I think they are worth the investment. ... show more

With all the travel I do, it was a necessity to find a reliable way to backup my files just incase my laptop went haywire. I've tried a ton of usb drives, with no success, until I found the SanDisk 1TB Extreme PRO USB 3.2 Solid State Flash Drive. This drive is super fast and has been able to handle thousands of photos and extremely large video files, as well as documents and presentations... and it hasn't skipped a beat: no corrupt files, no installation problems and attached to my keychain, I haven't lost it yet. The performance and massive storage space is phenomenal for its price. I will be buying more in the future, to backup my other gadgets. The SanDisk 1 TB flash drive has been great, so far. This thing is fast and convenient. I got this to transfer a game from one PC to another as I have slow internet and didn't want to download such a large file (days...) and it worked wonderfully. Like, in minutes. It does get really hot though.

Extremely fast speeds on every Extreme PRO I buy (I've tried 128gb and 1tb). These are amazing. Super fast USB 3 speeds when writing, and works great in USB 2 devices. One example being, I use this to transfer large amounts of game ISOs via USB 3, that I then use with Daemon Tools on my Windows 98 retro computer over USB 2. I get the best of both worlds, fastest USB 3 speeds to write, and fastest USB 2 speeds to read on a legacy device. I've tried a lot of USB drives. Many get a small fraction of their supposed write speeds. This one does exactly what it says it should.     • THIS IS A "HOT" DEAL!

This flash drive is very, very fast. Of course at 1TB it will store a great deal of data. It is Windows compatible and DOES NOT require any downloads of software in order to make it work. They say it is metal; it doesn't feel like metal. It feels like heavy plastic. That is o.k. because the housing doesn't really bother me. The USB plug-in storage is good as well as the size of the unit. The little blue processing light is almost impossible to see. Don't rely on it to tell you anything. This thing gets H-O-T! It is not enough to burn you or melt your equipment but just beware that it will be quite warm then you remove it after using it. I really do not know why this SSD stick would get so very hot. The setup is easy but "goofy" (at least to me). If you setup the vault/security/password system be prepared for some strange procedures. There is no instruction book/explanation that comes with the stick other than what you see in the opening downloads. It would be a good idea for SanDisk to provide one for computer "lay people" so they would know what to do. I have processed documents, pictures, downloads and videos to this stick and it works perfectly and is very, very fast. I would recommend for the lay person to go online and watch several videos pertaining to how to setup and use the stick. I would be very helpful. Don't be worried, it is really easy to use once you get the "hang" of it. The price is great! I called my friends about this stick and price and they are going to purchase one also. Buy it.
