This flash drive is very, very fast. Of course at 1TB it will store a great deal of data. It is Windows compatible and DOES NOT require any downloads of software in order to make it work. They say it is metal; it doesn't feel like metal. It feels like heavy plastic. That is o.k. because the housing doesn't really bother me. The USB plug-in storage is good as well as the size of the unit. The little blue processing light is almost impossible to see. Don't rely on it to tell you anything. This thing gets H-O-T! It is not enough to burn you or melt your equipment but just beware that it will be quite warm then you remove it after using it. I really do not know why this SSD stick would get so very hot. The setup is easy but "goofy" (at least to me). If you setup the vault/security/password system be prepared for some strange procedures. There is no instruction book/explanation that comes with the stick other than what you see in the opening downloads. It would be a good idea for SanDisk to provide one for computer "lay people" so they would know what to do. I have processed documents, pictures, downloads and videos to this stick and it works perfectly and is very, very fast. I would recommend for the lay person to go online and watch several videos pertaining to how to setup and use the stick. I would be very helpful. Don't be worried, it is really easy to use once you get the "hang" of it. The price is great! I called my friends about this stick and price and they are going to purchase one also. Buy it. I bought a few other 1 TB flash drives and they all suck. This one is fast and doesn't corrupt files when I transfer a lot of them in one go. The thing does get hot though, even when there is nothing being transferred. I unplug it and never just leave it plugged in. So yeah the heat is weird. Trying to follow written instructions with SanDisk was a total failure - received error messages - finally called them and talked to an individual I have difficulty understanding - you know what I mean - after 1/2hr+ on the phone learned that I didn't need to format it for a MAC but I had to erase the file on there.
