  • Big enough for archives, small enough for a drawer.
Size: 256GB Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I bought two 256GB drives to archive photos and videos. Flash drives are ideal for this purpose because they are small, convenient, inexpensive, reliable, and have plenty of memory for thousands of photos, etc. I purchased USB 2.0 drives instead of USB 3.0 because my computer’s output has 2.0 only. You can check which you have on your MAC, for example: apple/about this mac/system report/USB. Two things to keep in mind: 1) Although read speed is decent, write speed is VERY slow. If you intend to write files to the drive often, you might be better off getting a stand-alone external hard drive instead. For archive use, write speed shouldn't present a problem. 2) If you are going to load individual files larger than 4GB, you need to reformat the drive first. Formatting is a fairly simple process, I found instructions for doing so via Google. After formatting, the large files load with no problem. NOTE: format BEFORE you start loading any files, because all data is erased in the process. ... show more

  • Not a good idea for any important files or mission-critical data
Size: 128GB Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
We purchased about 20 of these SanDisk drives over the past three years, and about half of them have failed. I purchased again in October 2017 thinking SanDisk had fixed these problems, but the newest drives I've received also have failed. Either I get a "you must format the drive" while browsing files, or the contents just randomly disappear and the drives are inaccessible unless unplugged and replugged, and the same failures occur yet again. Overall I am disappointed with the purchases and have had to spend a significant amount of time and money replacing these drives with our clients. We have had much better luck with PNY drives, but even with spotty failures there I am switching over to 500 GB Toshiba portable hard drives, as it appears flash drive technology above 32-64 GB is simply not dependable yet. ... show more

  • 32GB labeled as 128GB
Size: 128GB Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Extremely disappointed. I received this flash drive and had been using it to upload pictures over the last week. I was shocked to receive an error message that the drive was full and only had 31.9GB of total space. I double checked the back where the details are printed and it does say it's a 128GB drive, not a 32GB drive. I'm way past my window of return as I didn't start using it until recently and only checked upon receipt that it worked. I never expected that I would have to make sure that SanDisk was actually selling me the size I paid for and not a smaller one disguised as 128GB. This really sours me on SanDisk products. After owning 5 other SanDisk drives over the past years and not having any trouble with them, I thought they were a reliable product. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY. FAKE ITEM
Size: 128GB Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I attempted to put 36.8gb of photos and videos in it but it said there wasn't enough space available. I was however able to fit 29.8gb. It is most likely a 32gb with the outside showing 128gb and the computer reading 128. However, when you try to use more than the 32 you get an error. Crazy how amazon allows this. ... show more

  • Really good thumb drive
Size: 256GB Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
This thumb drive has a high capacity, of course. When copying large folders onto it, it can take 15 minutes, which I suppose is probably to be expected. It also comes with an encryption program so you can place files into a "vault" and encrypt them. However, I don't use this program because using it has caused my CPU to reach 100% usage, which sometimes causes the program to stop responding. This makes me worry that files may become corrupted when using the program, and this worry, combined with the performance issues and the much longer amount of time needed for encryption puts me off from using the encryption program altogether. But as far as the thumb drive itself is concerned, it's what I needed and I'm happy with it. ... show more

  • A Quick 40 Hours Of OTA DVR Storage For Your AirTV 2
Size: 256GB Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
If you've ever attempted to setup the OTA DVR for your AirTV2 device, then you may have run into an issue or two. The USB support for AirTV boxes (flash or USB hard drive) is very hit or miss. Referring to the AirTV support website yields only a handful of compatible USB flash drives & USB external hard drives. And this list is just for the "ORIGINAL" AirTV units. The AirTV2 doesn't even have a device compatibility list. However, the original AirTV device list will work for the AirTV 2 as well. Unfortunately, this list is very short (& incomplete). An example being that only the 128GB version of this flash drive is on that list. Well, don't waste your money on the 128GB version. Buy the 256GB version instead [ SanDisk Cruzer 256GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (SDCZ36-256G-B35) ]. This drive WILL work! And make sure to get the USB 2.0 version! USB 3.0 is NOT supported. The USB 2.0 is the same model that I'm reviewing here. You will get 40 HRS of fast DVR storage for under $35.00. Don't bother with slow, clunky external hard drives (unless you really need 100's of hours of OTA storage). Opt instead for the faster flash storage of the SanDisk Cruzer. I don't think that SanDisk manufacturers a larger version of the USB 2.0 Cruzer drive. So this may be the largest USB 2.0 flash drive that is known to work. I haven't experimented with a larger capacity drive, so I can't confirm or deny results. This USB flash drive detects without issue & will automatically be formatted by the AirTV2 unit. Takes all of 5 minutes tops & you can start setting up your recording schedules immediately after. So, if you want a quick 40 hours of AirTV2 DVR storage for under $35.00, grab this little guy & save yourself a ton of hassle! ... show more
