Sabrent is a leading provider of innovative consumer electronics. We are committed to designing and developing products that provide the utmost quality, dependability, and value. Sabrent strives for excellence with each product we develop by providing cutting-edge features at affordable prices. Our company thrives on creativity, innovation, honesty, and integrity in all aspects of our business operations. SABRENT 8TB Rocket 4 Plus NVMe 4.0 Gen4 PCIe M.2 Internal SSD Extreme Performance Solid State Drive R/W 7100/6600MB/s (SB-RKT4P-8TB) The SABRENT 8TB Rocket 4 PLUS NVMe 4.0 Gen4 PCIe M.2 Internal SSD Extreme Performance Solid State Drive (SB-RKT4P-8TB) delivers all the advantages of flash disk technology with PCIe Gen4.0 x4 interface. Based on TLC NAND Flash memory, its performance speeds can reach up to 7100 MB/s (read) and 6600 MB/s (write) when using a PCIe Gen4 motherboard. Using a PCIe Gen3 Motherboard Speeds will reach up to 3400 MB/s (read) and 3000 MB/s (write). Power consumption is much lower than traditional hard drives, making it the best embedded solution for new systems. The SABRENT 8TB Rocket 4+ Nvme PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 Internal SSD was designed using PCIe 4.0 which allows for speeds of up to 7100 MB/s (read) and 6600 MB/s (write), significantly faster than PCIe 3.0. Note: In order to take advantage of these speeds, a PCIe Gen4 motherboard is REQUIRED. Otherwise it will be at pcie gen 3 speed at max of 3500MB/s. When installing any NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD directly onto a PCIe Gen4 Motherboard a Heatsink is required to dissipate the heat generated by the drives extreme speed levels to avoid thermal throttling and maximize performance. The SABRENT 8TB Rocket 4+ Nvme PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 Internal SSD is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0. Using a Gen 3 PCIe motherboard will enable the user to reach speeds of up to 3400 MB/s (read) and 3000 MB/s (write). Features: Package contents:

  • Longer term review
So I wanted to really get some mileage on this ssd before I wrote this review and I think that over two years of daily driving is a good indicator of how it will preform. First off lets talk about Sabrent they have taken the industry by storm lately and for good reason. They have been working closely with phion to produce some of the fastest drives on the market. When I bought my first m.2 drive it was no question that it was Samsung pro was the best money could buy but over the years Samsung has really dropped the ball and Sabrent was there to pick it up. Be it speed or capacity you could have your cake and eat it as well. This drive is a gen 2 pcie 4.0 device and really maxes out the available bandwidth. Other than benchmarks you are really not going to see these kind of transfer speeds as unless you have identical drives everything else will be your bottleneck. The only real projects that I work on that come close are image stacking where I combine hundreds of raw files into one image and there I am pulling from the ssd into ram and you can really see the speed increase. For games and most applications almost any m.2 ssd will keep up with the task where this one will give you a slight edge. To me though it was the combination of speed and the (at the time) highest density drive you could get. 4tb sounds like a lot and really for most it would be more than enough but for me it was enough to not have to worry every time I worked on a project if I was going to have to use slower drives a scratch space but not enough for my system to not have tiered storage spaces. So for longer term how has it held up? Well fantastically in short. I have used it as my main boot disk for over two years and have had no issues at all. Stability has been prefect and the performance has remained strong (note that I keep the drive less the 80% full). I even bought a second one for my new laptop and did some bench marks and the brand new drive was neck and neck with my two year old drive. So I am quite pleased. ... show more

  • Insanely fast
Size: 1TB Style: GEN 4
100% Recommend. Just arrived and installed this evening. I had been keeping my eye out for its release ever since reading about it. It just happened that I checked on Thanksgiving day and it was suddenly available. Not only was it available but it was the same price as the normal Rocket 4 drive ($199 for the 1TB) and was 30 bucks less than the competing Samsung 980 Pro. So I spent the difference on the available Sabrent NVME heatsink ($24) available on Amazon (if you are going to use one of these drives, you really should have some sort of heatsink to get optimal performance). Cloning my system drive was simple. Sabrent provides a version of Acronis but most any of the other popular tools would have worked as well. Reboot and done. As soon as I powered my machine back on from install, I noticed that seconds had been shaved off of boot time. It went from power off to Windows loading spinning and to a login prompt in less than 15 seconds. I had been using a Sabrent Rocket gen3 in that slot previously and it performed well but this another level. I checked the health and made sure all was good with Sabrent's Rocket Control Center and once everything looked good I ran my first benchmark (crop of the results above). It is simply crazy fast. It really has made a noticeable difference in apps opening and loading, large video files open nearly instantly and my next test will be VM performance but wanted to write this for anyone on the fence. While I agreed with the argument that PICE 4 Gen 4 drives would likely NOT really make a huge difference over a fast gen 3 drive, this new line of superfast Sabrent's, 980 Pros, WD sn850 drives ABOSULTELY offer real world differences in usability and performance. Coupled with the heatsink, at idle it runs 32C and under load has never broken 39C. As an aside, to see performance like this, you must install it in a PCie 4.0 compatible M.2 slot and most of these are currently found only on AMD x570 motherboards. Even on boards with 2 m.2 slots, make sure you choose one that is connected to the 4.0 BUS. Often, this is the slot closest to the CPU socket. More boards are coming with 2 m.2 slots and in many cases only one is PCIE 4.0. It will run in other slots but you will not see the speeds advertised. I have been working with PC's and in IT since before the days of PATA 33 drives and always kept wondering when we would see the days of instant boot times. Well, with this generation of drives, we are getting awfully close. Finally. ... show more

  • Wow, Its sweet and Really nice packaging!
Size: 2TB Style: GEN 4
Upon receiving the Sabrent 2TB Rocket 4 Plus in early December 2023, I was immediately impressed by the well-packaged product. The SSD came in a tin box that was easy to open, yet provided ample protection during shipping. Installation was a breeze, and I appreciated the simplicity of the process, as I didn't need to consult any additional directions beyond my motherboard's manual, which led me to this purchase in the first place. That and another performance SSD Company's issues with drive failures... Performance-wise, the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus has lived up to its specifications and exceeded my expectations. Running on a Windows 11 machine with no page file (as I don't use it to reduce SSD wear.), I've noticed a significant improvement in load times for games and virtual machines. They are now faster and more responsive than ever before. In comparison to my previous setup of a RAID 0 array with four 500GB SSDs on a RAID card for buffering, the Rocket 4 Plus puts that configuration to shame with its superior speed and efficiency. I cannot wait to do some video editing on this in the future. I find the potential for future enhancements exciting. I'm eagerly anticipating the release of motherboards that can support more M.2 drives at full speed. The prospect of configuring this SSD in a RAID 0 cluster, with a controller that unleashes its full potential, is something else I'm looking forward to experiencing. For those interested in the specifics of my setup, the machine housing the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus boasts the following specifications: CPU: 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-11900K @ 3.50GHz (Overclocked to 5100 MHz) Motherboard: MSI MPG Z590 GAMING PLUS RAM: 128GB Corsair DDR4-3200 (4x32GB) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB VRAM Storage: Sabrent SB-RKT4P-2TB NVMe SSD Displays: Three Dell U2412M monitors (24 inches, 1920x1200 pixels) OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Professional 64-bit In conclusion, the Sabrent 2TB Rocket 4 Plus NVMe 4.0 Gen4 PCIe M.2 Internal SSD is an exceptional storage solution that delivers on its promise of extreme performance. Whether for gaming, virtualization, or general use, this SSD is a game-changer that I highly recommend. ... show more

  • Well worth the Cost and MAC type packaging. I bought more, I was that impressed.
Size: 2TB Style: GEN 4
I originally bought these to test a NAS SSD server. They were so well packaged, Golden Tin container, pull tab and it just felt like you were buying a MAC product. I'm not a MAC fan, but what I am saying is these guys put quality into their packaging. I'm going to keep the packaging to hold my spares. The SSD itself is HIGH quality, I mean these were TRULY well done. I bought some more, and will now be buying from Sabrent, you won me over. ... show more

  • This is fast, but is it really faster than the 980 Pro? Well... sort of.
Size: 2TB Style: GEN 4
At time of purchase this is about $20 cheaper than the Samsung 980 Pro. And yes, it is faster... sometimes. It's also slower sometimes. At times, it's A LOT slower, but it's still so much faster than just about anything else that you'll never notice that it's slower. The benchmark results in the attached picture are both from immediately after installation. Sequential operations are both substantially faster on the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus (yes, I know the picture doesn't say 'Plus,' but I assure you that it is) than they are on the 980 Pro. (6996 vs 6871 MB/s for read, 6647 vs 5088 MB/s for write), and that's great when your drive is nearly empty... but when your drive is getting closer to being full it's the random operations that matter more, and that's where Sabrent is lagging: ~412k IOPS vs ~942 for read, and ~376k vs ~411k for write. Whether this is going to be a big deal for your situation is a question only you can answer. For my own purposes, it's not a big deal: my 980 Pro is the system and program drive; my Rocket 4 Plus is dedicated to project files for a couple of specific software packages where absolute maximum drive performance is of paramount importance but which are unlikely to ever take up enough hard drive space for random read/write speeds to become an issue. ... show more
