  • Good Design
I am in an apartment so I wasn't too keen on drilling any holes into the wall. I looked around for some alternatives and saw plenty of recommendations for this rack so I decided to give it a shot. After assembling and using the rack, I have to say that the piece is well designed. The fit and finish of the entire rack is of high quality and the sturdiness of the tubing is reassuring. Even the powder coat on the rack is nice and even without the spotty finish you'd see on lower quality metalwork. The center of gravity on my bike is a little further back towards the rear wheel so it took a little experimenting with the positions of the arms to get even weight distribution on both of them. I was eventually able to find the sweet spot for my bike and am very pleased with the way the bike looks on the stand. My only concern was that the protective tubing on the mounting coil on one of the arms tore off after multiple readjustments. I was afraid that the exposed metal would scratch up the rack. However I was surprised to see that the covered portion of the arms are finished off with a smooth and rounded powder-coated edge. Major kudos to the design team for paying attention to details and not taking any shortcuts! TL;DR This bike rack is sturdy, attractive and is an excellent option for those who can't/won't drill holes in their living space or do not have access to any studs behind the wall. ... show more

  • Yes, It Works
Purchased this stand after lengthy research regarding 2-bike stands. I'll admit there was a little skepticism about how well it would work. Was pleasantly surprised as soon as I opened the box. The contents were well packaged. Individual parts were double wrapped for protection. The material is sturdy and the protective coating looks handsome. Assembly was easy, but make sure you have a partner to help. There's little margin for error when screwing the supports together. Screws require precise alignment and insertion, so a helping hand makes it easier. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the precision and resulting snug fit. The stand is now leaning against a wall in the garage supporting two bikes weighing a combined 66 pounds. It's sturdy and my initial skepticism has disappeared. Truly pleased with this purchase. ... show more

  • Quality
I have seen the older model of this stand and it doesnt compare to the updated rugged model. This stand is quality. Took me about 7 mins to assemble and if I had to make 1 complaint it would be that the strap in which you mount this stand to the wall is a little flimsy. BUT.. you could easily find something at your local hardware store to make you feel secure. (you dont have to mount it at all if you dont want to, but we did because our hardwood floor is old and uneven) My wife and I own 4 bikes in our 2 bedroom apt. We needed to get some bikes up off the floor and this did the trick. Additionally, this stand is technically in our dinning/kitchen area but is so stylish that it only adds to our decor. We have 2 straight bar road bikes on it now, but when we initally installed it we put her slant bar road bike on it and the arms are easily adjustable to accomidate any style bike. Very sleak and priced just right. If you are thinking about it, pull the trigger and buy it. ... show more

  • Good rack, but needs more clearance from wall
My bikes fit pretty good, one older Trek 820 steel hybrid/road bike, and a newer Trek Fuel EX 8 mountain bike. The mountain bike frame is a bit funky, so had to get creative on how I placed the arms, one under the seat nose, other under the bottom frame. The rack went together easy, good quality, looks nice, and it's pretty sturdy for a gravity system. I have confidence it won't fall over with my two somewhat big bikes, one a heavier steel bike. Only issue is that both my bike's handlebars hit the wall, I need about 5" more clearance (see pics). I could twist the wheels but then the tire hit the wall. I stood the bike rack near a window so my handlebars extend into the window frame (beyond the wall) for now, but this isn't a permanent good location or solution. I emailed the company and they say they sell longer arms but only 3" longer, so these still won't work for my bikes. I plan to mount something to the top back of the rack to give it 5" more clearance to remedy my situation, just not sure yet what I'll use so it doesn't look trashy. Company had good response to my emails, just don't have a solution for this issue. I think if you have traditional road bike handlebars (curled round), you ought to be okay, but for bikes with straight handlebars, beware! Still, I do love the rack besides this one issue. *Note: I did NOT receive a discount on this item for my honest review. I bought it for the normal price Amazon had it listed for, so you know for sure that my review isn't biased. It's a good rack. UPDATE 9 months later: Now that I've had the rack a while I wanted to update on the handlebar/wall issue. I decided not to attach something to the top back of the rack for stability purposes. I went ahead and bought 4 longer arms from the rack company... even though I had my doubts that they'd remedy my situation. But they do with a little positioning: I angle the back tires closer to the wall by swinging the holding arms to the outside, which allows the front of the frames and tires to be further away from the wall. My handlebars just barely clear the wall (within an inch), so it works. I also bought a pair of Park Tool HBH-2 handle bar holder that keeps the wheel from pivoting, which helps ensure it stays parallel to the wall (no tire twist). The 4 arms and handle bar holder increases the overall cost of this set up for me specifically, but figure it's the best way to go vs. other bike racks that I've tried out. I'm careful not to bump it, and I'm extra careful when placing and removing the bikes, or I'll have dings in my wall. Still love the rack! ... show more

  • Sturdy and secure
This rack solved everything for me. Townhouse without garage so I had my bikes in the living room and hallway. I wanted something that would get them off the floor for cleaning and reduce their foot print. This holds a road- and a tribike perfectly, no issue taking one off, and leaving the other. I bought a 100 lb drywall anchor to attach the strap, just in case. ... show more
