I bought this 3 tier cake stand to present a wedding cake that had separate small, medium, and large layers to be set on the 3 platforms. The stand was affordable and looked presentable in the picture, and hence I picked it. It came with clear assembly instructions, was easy to assemble, and was very sturdy once assembled (although see below). Note that the 3 plates on the stand are clear molded plastic, not glass or thick plexiglass. Also, it's a bit hard to see from the product photo so I'll note that the 3 plates don't overlap each other above and below - they're fully offset so you can put things on them that are taller than the height between them. Overall the stand did turn out to be clean looking and presentable. For the formality of the wedding reception we draped it with white linen napkins, but I would definitely use it undraped at home for desserts or appetizers at a less formal party. My only complaint is that one of legs was missing the notch needed to stop it from slipping through the slot in the base (the bottom large silver circle you see in the product photo) that holds all 3 stands together to form a stable platform. I didn't have time to deal with it before our event so we jury-rigged it with tape and it worked great; I've since called Wilton's customer service, which was friendly and helpful, and they're sending a replacement leg now, no questions asked. So if you're looking for a nice-looking, sturdy, inexpensive way to present desserts or other things I definitely recommend this product.

They look nice and for home use would be perfect. I actually use them commercially 2-4 times per week all year long, they last about a year in that setting (constantly assembled/disassembled. One of the leg holders broke off after a year, I tried to saulder(sp?) it back on but it wouldn't reattach. So, even for commercial use, I just reordered another one knowing that things naturally have lifespans. To be fair, I bought 2 initially, one is still going strong, and only one of them broke as noted above. All that being said, I bought a replacement because they are handy for what we do and still a great value. But, that's why it's a 4 star review instead of 5.

The cake stand worked well and served as a great way to display separate layered cakes without having to go through the hassle of "constructing" a true tiered cake. The stand was easy to assemble, once you read the instructions. Overall, the price was much more affordable than other cake stands and it suited our needs perfectly. I was disappointed, however, in the condition of the product that I received. The clear plastic trays that served as the base for the cakes were all noticeably scratched, although the product was supposed to be new. Because the event I was using them for was only a week out, and because they would be covered by cake boards, I did not return the stand, but I did feel like I had perhaps been sent a product someone else had used and returned.

This little stand is one of the best investments I've made so far in cake decorating. You can do almost anything with the tiers. I used it many times already. Once I out an 8" cake on one tier, and then cupcakes on the others, the next time I made a 6" cake and put it on one tier, then a flower pot with fake flowers on the other tier and some cupcakes on the third tier. There's no end to the creativity. And anyone who says it's hard to put together I have a suggestion for you: Color code the little legs and the holes. I put mine together in less than 5 minutes now. It is sturdy. Sturdy enough to support a stacked 8"x 3" cake plus 12 cupcakes and a rather heavy flower pot (I filled it with clear stones and put the flowers in the stones).

This stand is great. It gave my dessert table a very professional look. I was a little worried about it being strong and sturdy enough to hold my largest cake, but it was awesome!!! It cleaned up well and is ready to go for my next event.

This was great for my needs. I used it for a bridal shower and placed a 8 inch cake on the top then I added cupcakes on the next and finally cake pops in the last. The display was beautiful and everyone commented on it. It will be great to use with cheeses when having other affairs. It has many uses and not just for cakes. I would recommend to anyone who does a lot of entertaining. It repacks beautifully in the same box it came in and the directions were good.
