4 Stars... not 5 because the packing for shipping is not the best. Not 3 stars because customer service shipped out a replacement part quickly. I like the idea of this grill because of the two different tops. I used to have two large grills, one normal and one flat top, but they take up a lot of space. So I downsized. I thought people complaining about the packing were nit picking but let me tell you they were not! I had to straighten a few pieces so they bolt holes would line up. When I opened the box, which wasn't showing damage, the Styrofoam looked like snow because some of it was destroyed. The flaw is the packing of the flat top. That thing is heavy and it wasn't secure in the box. Thankfully it was not damage. Putting it together is pretty easy if you don't consider bending things back to shape. Took me about 30 minutes. There was only one piece that has a broken weld and that was the bracket that holds the dip pan. I emailed customer support with pictures. They responded within 12 hours and after a couple short back and forth, nothing bad, they put in the order for the part, of course at no cost. The part arrived 3 days later. Now using the grill is nice but its not like my bigger grills in terms of heat. Steaks take a little longer to cook and the flat top does take about 10 minutes to get nice and hot (not like my dedicated flat top I had). But that is ok, it will just take some getting used to. Once recommendation is to get some sort of cover/dome for cooking to help keep the heat in if you like to cook with the grill cover down as this grill is wide open. Overall, nice grill. If you want the flat top and a regular grill, this is something to consider. ... show more

WOW do I like this combination, made very well, easy to put together and I’m 73, the griddle is already seasoned, this is bigger then I thought it would be, their is nothing cheaply about this grill or griddle. My only disappointment is that you can not convert it to natural gas that I’m use to using for the last 30 years and don’t understand why they do not have that option for us that don’t go to tailgating parties any where. Also I bought the Blackstone cover recommended by Amazon and it don’t fit this Royal Gourmet so now I have to buy the correct grill cover, wasted monies because my husband cleaning up after me cut the box up in small pieces for the garbage..... Very fast delivery and packaged extremely well but still had a bad cut on edge of shelf, very sharp & could get cut so Royal Gourmet replaced it for me and their c/s is very kind and helpful. Okay peeps read carefully please. This grill/griddle is fantastic. The grill works great as designed and the griddle is awesome as well. The combo of grill and griddle opens the door for so many more options of food prep and ideas. Probably going to purchase another one for the house. However it will NOT be from Amazon. I had to ship the original back for a replacement because the first one was damaged pretty bad. Well then the second one showed up worst then the first one. I personally dont feel that Amazons Customer service did what they should have but they did do something. Typical American right never enough. Not the case. The second grill was damaged more than the first and axon only wanted to refund me 70 bucks towards keeping the product and me repairing it. Was hoping for half back atleast but they would not do that and I did not have time to wait for another grill at that time. ... show more
