It's perfect for what it is. The griddle is just big enough for a family of three. The gas grill side is great for sausages, hot dogs, and chicken as well. Basically the best of both worlds. Excellent for the price. Not for windy, unprotected areas since strong winds can affect heating. Used next to exterior wall helps a lot. Make sure to use the supplier cover to protect from money dew and rain since metal and iron parts can rust easily.

I purchased this Because it was within my budget and everything I wanted in a grill & griddle combo at least I thought. 2 major downsides to this grill & griddle combo. #1. Because the grill side has no grill lid to close you really can't get the grill up to higher temperatures to sear meat fast without overcooking the meat on the inside first. Sure you can buy a hand held lid cover that just covers your burgers to melt the cheese. I do not recommend this grill for cooking steaks, especially “Medium Well Steaks” and if its cold outside for get it, it won't cook steaks. We did have to buy a handheld stainless steel cover to melt the cheese on the burgers and to cook the steaks the way we like them. #2. The ceramic coated griddle is a complete joke. After 3 or 4 months, the ceramic coating is starting to flake and wear off in small pieces leaving the metal exposed to rust. No matter how much oil you use on this griddle, it is going to rust and nothing will stop it, not even with the grill cover or griddle mat. So instead of throwing this in the garbage and buying a black stone with a cast iron griddle and spending $500 We found a replacement griddle top on Amazon from another company that is made from Stainless Steel and fits this grill perfect Guaranteed not to rust. Check out “Stanbroil Stainless Steel Griddle for Royal Gourmet GD401 GD402 GD403 Griddle Grill Combo, Flat Top Griddle Replacement Top for Royal Gourmet 4-Burner Gas Grill and Griddle Combo” If this grill had a grill lid and even griddle lid with a cast iron griddle top or a stainless steel griddle top it would be (🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟).
