ordered this and the Permasteel Lp to NG conversion kit. First off the Grill (made by Permasteel) was shipped very well, lots of protection for normal non abused shipping. It was actually very easy to assemble including the conversion kit, and the instructions could have been a Little better in certain steps, but overall i took my time and re-read the instructions before i moved to next step. it has a side burner and the gas burner its self came broken (faulty tack weld) needless to say i contacted the company directly and they immediately sent me a replacement within 5 days of originally contacting them. the grill works excellent using NG and overall i am very pleased. I will note i converted the burner orifices before i fully assembled , which seemed like it saved me some time. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. My dad passed down his old Kenmore grill to me a few years back (had no clue they made grills), and it lasted about ten years between the two of us. Was always impressed with how well it cooked, so when it finally gave out, I knew I would end up buying another Kenmore. Was hesitant to order this particular model based on reviews of damaged/missing parts and a tedious assembly process, but I pulled the trigger anyway. Simply put, the grill looks immaculate and everything works like a charm. Have yet to cook on it yet, but the blue flame and effortless ignite is a great sign. The assembly isn't for the faint of heart, but it's not impossible. Just need some patience and a good tool set. Took me a little over two hours to fully assemble and I'm pretty mechanically inclined. Can't imagine most grills wouldn't be any better though, so don't let it keep you from buying the grill you like. Will update once I get some steaks on this bad boy, but overall, I highly reccomend this grill. ... show more

This is my second of the exact same grill. Use it quite a bit. My old one the guts were starting to fall apart so instead of buying parts to replace I just grabbed a new one. Always Cooks good, burners are in sync.

Pending reply from Permasteel (the manufacturer to whom the manual says to address any questions - and they're only available M-F 9-5 PST), so this review may get upgraded. For the moment, however... Severely disappointed in the build quality. This seems to be described and designed identically to the barbecue we finally wore out after more than a dozen or so years. But repeatedly we found that the threads pressed into the sheet metal had been incompletely drilled and in some cases painted over to the point that we were entirely unable to fit the fascia to the side-burner assembly, as well as the side-burner assembly to the barbecue itself. Worse, Kenmore is no longer a Sears product. Permasteel's customer service line is staffed only 9a-5p PST. So, no celebratory steak on the new barbecue any time soon, if they choose to send us a side-burner assembly that can, indeed, be assembled and attached to the barbecue. Stay tuned for updates. UPDATE as promised: In answer to another potential buyer who asked if the burners heat evenly, I responded as below. "Unknown. We have not been able to use the grill. Poorly manufactured side-shelf assembly had been painted/coated after threads had been cut into the metal, making it impossible to finish assembly. Contacted Permasteel (NOT truly a Kenmore product, by the way, just purchased the brand name for their use, apparently) for assistance. They sent parts of the assembly, but having been manufactured in the same manner. Their further instructions were to hire someone locally to figure out a way to finish the assembly since they do not provide further assistance at this point. So...heat distribution? I'm FULLY steamed over this purchase." Anybody know a metal fabricator or really savvy handyman in Salinas, California? ... show more
