While my first order was damaged in shipping and I had to hassle with Amazon CS to get it reshipped, once I received the grill, I was thoroughly impressed! Assembly, while a tad time consuming, was not as difficult as most reviews here make it seem. If you can assemble a Lego kit, you can assemble this grill no problem. About a 2hr assembly time solo by my estimation, not bad given the size of the thing. I've used it a dozen and a half times already and every single time it's heats evenly and quickly. The top rack gets a nice distributed heat that I've used to cook jalapeno poppers and stuffed mushrooms with great success. The grills are a breeze to clean, as are the drain pans. Overall build quality is great too with a few minor nitpicks such as a small dent on the side of the hood and the left side tray not snugging up as well as it should. In the end, I am very pleased with this purchase and will be recommending Royal Gourmet to my friends and family PS: haven't used the rotisserie feature yet but will update when I do. ... show more

Absolutely fabulous grill. Assembly took me, a girl who's moderately handy, about 4.5 hrs to finish. It ignites beautifully. Sturdy yet still stylish. Burner on side works great along with the rest. Very impressive looking grill. The rotisserie feature is fantastic too. My only issue is that the pieces didn't come numbered on the packages to indicate which were what. You have to eye it to figure out which piece is what. Besides that, assemble was lengthy but still pretty easy. Very Very satisfied with birthday present for my Dad.     • Great Grill but the Rotisserie........
I love this grill! Heat is even, sears very well, the back burner for the rotisserie is excellent. It was easy to assemble albeit a long process. But... the rotisserie shaft bends very easily! It is impossible to roast 2 chickens as it bends the shaft down to the grill grates. Also, if you manually support the shaft, there is not enough clearance (birds were trussed).     • First one arrived very damaged second one was a fire hazard
The grill came in an undamaged box but the grill itself looked like it came from a car crusher. Ok, not that flat, but damaged on every large piece. It was returned without too many issues and a new one was sent. See my review about the replacement. Apparently I cannot write a separate review about the replacement so here it is. The replacement arrived with a couple of dents in it but we were able to put it together without too much trouble. It looked nice and flamed on when propane was added. All seemed well until I tried grilling. The burner controls were very erratic and unless I stood there with the top open and watched it every second, the food would burn on one end and barely cooke on the other. After putting up with this for several months I was going to donate it to the metal recycling truck but decided to give it one last try. I put 4 hamburgers on and went into the kitchen to get a utensil when I just happened to look out the window to see the entire grill engulfed in flames. The grill was on my wooden deck, under the eaves, next to the brick house. I ran out, pulled the grill into the middle of the deck turned the tank off and doused it with the garden hose. Luckily the house did not catch on fire. After it cooled down I opened the cover and found that 2 of the burgers were still raw. That means the outside of the grill was what was actually on fire. I did not contact the company or amazon because it was past the return time frame. The burner regulators were bad as I had suspected from the start. It went to the curb the next day with a huge sign that said FOR SCRAP ONLY!!!! ... show more

    • Unique but be prepared to spend a good amount of time.
I don't write a lot of reviews, but I wanted to share some quick points on those considering to purchase this grill. The first thing is that I believe may be the most critical to those who are value shopping is that the features provided for the cost (side burner, sear section, rotisserie with burner) is really outstanding. Also, the available colors make it unique to the cooking cutter designs available at your large home supply stores. Another note is that the metal thickness is basically on par with other grills in this class. I would like it to be a thicker gauge, but this seems to be the norm. Now the issues that most buyers will have: Quality control needs considerable improvement. The carton protection needs improvement and some of the inner parts (framing) was bent. A small pliers can help here, but this is a QC issue, which leads me to believed that they wanted to rush the product out of the factory (made in China...like most products). Also, if you can put it together in the 45 minutes that is described, then you are a super DIY warrior. It will take more than 45 minutes just to get the initial parts you need from the box to start the assembly on the lower base frame (provided it is not bent as well). The printed manual is decent, but it is best to download the manual from the website. This way you can enlarge the print to see all of the details missed from the printed version...particularly the assembly of the weight on the rotisserie spit rod. The final result is that if you take a few hours and patiently bend back any parts that the QC overlooked, you will have a unique looking grill with as fair amount of features for the price point. After I finished my assembly and hooked up the gas, all sections lit up on the first go, which for me is the most critical point. No sense having a nice-looking grill that does not light. I hope this helps anyone who may be considering the purchase. ... show more
