After reading the reviews, many of which complained of bent parts and poor customer service, I was a little hesitant to order this nice looking BBQ, but I made a leap of faith and did. When I received it, the packaging looked like it had been "tossed about" somewhat, making me nervous. It sat several days before I had the time to open it up for an inspection and assembly. When I got into it, the way it was packed looked good, and the outer tears of the box were only superficial. But once I started taking parts out, I did find some bent parts. They way they were packed, and where they were in the box, makes me think they had to have been already bent when they went into the box. The damage was minor, so with a block of wood and a rubber mallet I straightened them. None of the bent parts affected exterior looks, or brought up any performance issues. Whether I was just lucky or not, I can't say. I've had it up and running for a month or so now, so I'm ready to make some comments on performance. The first "issue" I have is the sear burner. It is not an infrared burner, but just a "normal" burner designed to put out more heat, so I'm hesitant to call it a "sear" burner. All other BBQs I looked at use an infrared burner for searing. Another "issue" is the spacing of the burners. When it was laid out all the burners were spaced equally, but spaced out far enough that the burners on the end are actually to close the the ends. This results in the "sear" burner not being centered under it's grate, making it harder to lay out your steaks evenly over it. Also, the diffusion plates over the burners are much to small for my preference. I as yet have not used the infrared rotisserie burner. (Infrared: as long as they have them, they should put one under the sear grate!!) Overall, taking the price into consideration it is well worth the money, but could be improved for not much more cost. ... show more

    • Hard to put together
This is one beautiful grill. It is so upscale it’s not even funny however, it says 70 minutes to put together try seven hours the most complicated thing I’ve ever tried to put together in my life

Easy to assemble and works great! We looked specifically for a grill with a rotisserie and they’re not easy to find. This grill is a good value for the price and features.

    • Low quality metal parts will rot very quickly!!!
Out of the box, I was very satisfied with the overall look and operation of the grill. However, after the first couple of uses, it was clear that this was a budget grill that you should probably pass on. The quality of the burners, the drip pan, and especially the burner covers, was complete junk. After a dozen or so uses the drip pan rotted completely through. And shortly thereafter, the burner covers and burners themselves began to rapidly deteriorate. I live in Florida and always keep my grill covered, but that didn’t matter. Now after 2 1/2 years, the grill is junk. Moral of the story: spend just a few dollars more and get something that will last a lot longer. ... show more

    • Love this thing!
While my first order was damaged in shipping and I had to hassle with Amazon CS to get it reshipped, once I received the grill, I was thoroughly impressed! Assembly, while a tad time consuming, was not as difficult as most reviews here make it seem. If you can assemble a Lego kit, you can assemble this grill no problem. About a 2hr assembly time solo by my estimation, not bad given the size of the thing. I've used it a dozen and a half times already and every single time it's heats evenly and quickly. The top rack gets a nice distributed heat that I've used to cook jalapeno poppers and stuffed mushrooms with great success. The grills are a breeze to clean, as are the drain pans. Overall build quality is great too with a few minor nitpicks such as a small dent on the side of the hood and the left side tray not snugging up as well as it should. In the end, I am very pleased with this purchase and will be recommending Royal Gourmet to my friends and family PS: haven't used the rotisserie feature yet but will update when I do. ... show more

    • Had to order 2 grills to get 1 in working condition
1st grill I recv'd had damage from shipping & or packaging (box arrived damaged). I ordered the "grill assembly" too & glad I did as the "assembler" did not want to proceed to put together due to the bent pieces. He took photos of damage & forwarded to Amazon & he also reported the damage. I then called customer service & they sent a replacement. After having to wait again for another grill & grill assembler (nice service), the 2nd assember also found some damage but minor & I didn't want to go the process a 3rd time. I then called to make arrangements for pick up/return of 1st grill. It was I that had to use my time & energy to put back a 100+ lb grill in the box & use my tape to return ship (all packed up finally)! Then the next day when I tried to use the grill rotiserie (on the 2nd useable grill) the rotiserie battery/plug box did not work. ALSO... instruction book says uses 2 AA batteries, after buying 2 AA batteries, the rosiserie box actually uses 2 D batteries. Now after buying 2 D batteries, STILL DOENSN"T work. I had to OPEN PRIOR SAID WRAPPED/ TAPED BOX to see if that Rotiserie box works (IT DID THANK GOODNESS). Now after RE-Wrapping/Taping box, I have to wait 3 hours at home for the pick-up service's "pick-up window time". A LOT OF MY TIIME WAISTED on waiting, buying batteries, boxing grills & phone calls. But it did make a very tastey turkey breast. Grill doesn't get picked up till tomorrow.... hope that at least goes smooth. ... show more
