This is a great grill, easy to clean, with great features. But, the "portability" of the lift-off feature is questionable. This thing is HEAVY. There's no way I'd attempt lifting it off or carrying it by myself, and it's heavy and awkward even for two grown men. Only on special occasions would I attempt to carry it with me. It's almost cumbersome enough for me to just get a second, smaller, more portable grill for such occasions. I don’t give out a lot of 5 stars! But this I have to!!! I bought this before Christmas and dam I am glad I did. Used my wife’s account, and I am doing the review! This Pit Boss is the best thing I ever cook on in a while. It is so easy to use I do not even have to put anything on it to cook with. I done pancakes, beacon, Italian sausage, eggs, Carnitas, quesadillas, Philly steak Sandwich's, smash burgers, French toast, and a whole lot more. Even the cheese comes off with ease! I do see where it does have a little blemish on the griddle. But so far that has not affected my cooking! After every cook, all I do is pretty much wipe it down with some water and a few paper towels. Then finish it with just paper towels to dry and wipe. This is an amazing griddle! I love it. I will be trying new things, I have a hell of an imagination! lol. ... show more

I wasn't sure what to expect, I had never cooked on a blackstone or similar griddle. I went out on a limb and decided to move in the griddle direction and don't at all regret it. I've cooked eggs, bacon (works awesome and fast), pancakes, vegetables, Fried rice, and have noticed how much better it is than cooking on my stove inside. Haven;t tried my onion volcano yet, but it'll happen... Its freakin huge and cooks everything evenly. The griddle seems extremely solid and the idea that its more maintenance "free" compared to the blackstone appealed to me. Only time will tell if how it holds up, but so far its been great. I was impressed with assembly. there were only two screw that I cursed getting installed, which is still about 90% better than other assemblies. took me about 2 hours I think to get it all together. Its solid, well designed, and cooks great. I'm not going back to a standard "grate" grill anytime soon. The only other item of note is that the griddle requires soft utensils (no metal). i've already destroyed one plastic scraper using it while the griddle was too hot... lesson learned. Highly recommend the switch from grate to griddle. ... show more

Griddle arrived in damaged wet box. Looked okay until I opened up. Pre assembled legs on griddle loose and missing one bolt. Bad assembly from factory. Packing was not usable at this point for return so I just went ahead and straightened out everything I could. Bent leg brackets for the stand and the bottom shelf (bent during shipping) in the end for $550 the griddle cooks good but looks like xxxx. In the end I was whammied by shipping and manufacturing on pit boss end. Hopefully someone steps up and makes things right. ... show more

I recently purchased the Pit Boss 4-Burner Griddle, and it has completely revolutionized my outdoor cooking. This isn't just a griddle; it's an outdoor kitchen workhorse that makes cooking for the family or a crowd incredibly easy and fun. The surface area is huge! With four independent burners, I can easily manage different heat zones. This means pancakes and bacon on a lower heat on one side, while searing smash burgers or fajitas on high heat on the other. No more juggling pans on a traditional grill! If you get the "Ultimate" model with the ceramic-coated griddle top, cleanup is an absolute dream. After a big cook, a quick wipe with a spatula and paper towel, and it's practically spotless. It's truly non-stick and a huge time-saver. (Note: The deluxe/rolled steel models still cook great but require traditional seasoning/scraping). This griddle feels solid. The construction is robust, and the fold-down side shelves are incredibly handy for prep and storage. The built-in wheels/casters also make it surprisingly easy to move around the patio. The heat output from the 62,000 BTU burners is more than enough. It heats up fast, and the heat distribution is impressively even across the surface—a must for consistent cooking. From a full breakfast spread (eggs, hash browns, French toast) to killer cheese steaks and stir-fries, the Pit Boss handles everything. The cooking options are truly endless, and every meal comes out fantastic. After much research, I found that the Pit Boss Ultimate is a bit less maintenance and cleanup, compared to other griddles. So, we thought we would give the Pit Boss a try and we love it! We've done multiple meals on it and the non-stick is great and cleanup is quick and easy. We like everything about it, except the large, clear rubber wheels. I wish those would swivel like the ones on the other side. So, maneuverability isn't the easiest, but that is the only fault we have found. ... show more

Not at all what I expected…. This griddle is beyond expectations. I think it was important that I read other reviews before purchasing. Important to know this is a non-stick ceramic surface so care is different than other griddles. That said, there was an issue with one of the lights not working, but considering it shipped half way across the country, I get it.
