  • Fantastic. Can’t beat the price.
Style: Manual-Adjust (Classic)
Does this have a fancy screen, an app, and a crazy set of displays and options? NO! But it’s a great workout. I got it for $200 during last years PrimeDay if memory serves me correctly. It was quite easy to put together and it works great. It’s a smooth glide, you can change resistance, and it has an old school battery operated basic screen to show speed and stuff like that. Is it a Peloton row? No, but it’s about 3300 cheaper and gives the same workout. Only criticism, not worth losing a star over, is strapping in your feet. The little Velcro strap and pedal design isn’t the most efficient. And if you have a gut like me, that initial strapping in is your first workout. But once I’m in I’m good to go! I use peloton app which gave me some good tips and form and posture. I’ve gotten almost a year out of it so far and it still works great. I can throw it away and get a new one every year for 17 years and it’ll be cheaper than one high end model. Save your $ on others and get this. Especially if you’ve never used a row machine and you’re unsure if you’ll like it. ... show more

  • Just what I needed!
Style: Manual-Adjust (Classic)
I've lost 70 lbs in the last two years, largely thanks to walking or running - sometimes outside, sometimes on a treadmill. Moved from a house to an apartment & the although the complex has a state of the art gym in the clubhouse, this is year five of working hard to not catch C19, and I don't want to use it. Yes, I could mask, but didn't love the thought of running with a sweaty mask or having to do trial & error to find the best mask for that job. I'm on the top floor of my building & am not the kind of neighbor who'd wake the downstairs neighbors with an hour of me thudding away on the noisy treadmill. I tried step workouts in a carpeted room, but found myself holding back. I can lift weights or use a rebounder or yoga/pilates, but nothing was really working for cardio. I started pricing ellipticals - that's basically running, right? Only no impact and no shaking the rafters for the neighbors? There's a huge price difference, and many of the budget-friendly ones either looked flimsy, or had reviews about parts coming loose or not lasting long. I went to YouTube and found a guy who did a whole How To Not Pick A Sh(odd)y Elliptical. LOL. And he gave a list of half a dozen things to look for before committing and said there was good & bad to be found at all of the price ranges. So I came back to Amazon a little more prepared about what I was looking for. It seemed like I'd have to spend $350-ish and hope mine would not die after a year. Honestly I don't know how I went from ellipticals to rowers. Maybe a "People Who Look At These Crappy Ellipticals Also Buy..." suggestion? IDK. At first glance, shopping felt similar to ellipticals. There was a huge price range & varying reviews. I did notice that there were fewer complaints about quality, stability, or durability. I went back to YouTube hoping for another How To Buy A Decent Rower video. I didn't exactly find *that,* but I did find several unboxing videos. I watched rower videos for a few days and noticed that a lot of the positive reviews/unboxings kept mentioning Merach by name. I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes, so I went googling to see if Merach made an elliptical. LOL. And then I shopped for their specific rowers. It seemed like $350 was going to have to be the budget either way. I was still leaning elliptical for decibel level alone. Some of the rowers were really loud even in the videos. I got a notification that one rower I'd been looking at was on sale & marked down from $399 to $250-ish and there was a $50 coupon. I went to the reviews, which were almost all positive, and one man said his wife likes to work out early in the mornings & that he could not hear her even in the next room. No electricity required was also a huge plus. I decided for $200, it was worth the gamble & hit Buy Now. It took maybe 30 min to assemble by myself & would have gone faster if I had trusted the R/L on the pedals, but I put those on backwards the first time. (That's on me - it's imprinted AND marked by a sticker AND in the instructions, but I thought I knew what I was doing. hahahaha) It really is darn near silent. It's a belt and not a chain, plus I didn't get a water model. (I'm told those are louder.) Does not need external power. It is really sturdy. The seat glides easily and even that does not make any noise at all. If the display matters to you (it does not to me), you'll probably want to have 2 AAA batteries on hand. They include two cheapo/trial batteries that the instructions say won't last long & will need to be replaced. (Seems like a weird thing to cheap out on, honestly, but whatever.) Personally, I put my ipad on the ledge in front of the display and throw on an Apple Fitness rowing workout. I noticed something after mine arrived, and that was that a 3rd party delivery like Amazon voids the warranty. I don't know for sure that I have no standard company warranty, but I would have asked before purchasing. I did add the extended warranty. Maybe that will help if I need it? One nice surprise. I expected it to be sturdy while rowing. I would have returned it if it was not. But it is also sturdy when upright to be put away. I don't have to worry about the vacuum knocking it over or anything. It's sturdy, balanced, and solid. And quiet! A dream! Really happy with the purchase. Now to lose the rest of the weight. Almost to my goal! ... show more

  • Well Worth the Money!
Style: Manual-Adjust (Classic)
It's fairly easy to put together. I did it alone in about an hour, and I was taking it slow. There was one minor hiccup: The instructions call for you to use a #32 flat washer when you're installing the front foot piece, but there is no #32 washer. It actually means the #30 flat washers. This typo might lead some to believe they're missing parts. Once I had it all put together, I tried it out on the heaviest setting (which is how it arrived from the factory) and I did about 3.5 minutes! I was expecting to do 30... It's pretty intense for a beginner. But I set it at halfway and did another 5 minutes, focusing on proper technique. I love this machine! I expect I'll want to upgrade to something with more weight in 6 months to a year; but for now, this is perfect. ... show more

  • Smooth, Quiet, and Great for Home Workouts
Style: Electric-Adjust (Plug-in)
The MERACH rowing machine has exceeded my expectations! It was easy to assemble, and the build quality feels solid and stable. The magnetic resistance is smooth and nearly silent, which makes it perfect for home use — I can row early in the morning without waking anyone up. It offers a good range of resistance levels, so whether you're a beginner or more advanced, you can get a solid workout. The sliding motion is fluid, and the seat is comfortable even during longer sessions. The built-in digital monitor tracks time, distance, strokes, and calories, which helps keep me motivated. I also really like the MERACH app integration, adding variety and structure to my workouts. If you’re looking for a compact, quiet, and effective rower for cardio and full-body training at home, this one is a fantastic choice — and at a great price point too. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Great rower for the price
Style: Manual-Adjust (Classic)
I can only compare this to my other value rowing machine. It was packaged well and very easy to assemble. The first noticeable difference is the noise. This rower is much quieter. I used to have to turn the volume of my other rower way up to hear, but this one is nice and quiet. The seat padding is good and the track is noticeably longer than my other rower. The timer screen folds back so it's not in the way when you tilt the rower up for storage. Overall the quality seems good and it's not wobbly in any way. Your posture is lower, and I feel like I'm not pushing on the foot pads as hard as my previous rower, which is what failed on that rower. In the end, this seems like a good value rower for starting out. It has good basic features and should fit almost everyone. My only complaint is that the wheels on the front for moving it aren't tall, so it drags on the carpet a bit. If you have a hard surface this won't be an issue. ... show more
