I was a bit skeptical but decided to go for it and get it. While mapping, I was even more skeptical. I will say after the first run through I was pleasantly surprised. The battery surprisingly does go down a lot while running. If you have bigger rooms, I would clean them on different days. It cleans well, better than what I was going to give it credit for. Do not buy this machine. It is the first time I have ever encountered a product that appears to be designed to be stupid, dysfunctional, and useless. I owned a previous version of Roomba which mostly worked well until the tires wore down to the point that it affected its functionality. Despite my best efforts and multiple attempts, I have never been able to purchase new wheels that actually permit the robot to rest properly on the floor and vacuum effectively. In frustration, I bought this new machine to replace it. This is actually a worse product that the robot it replaced. It spins around pointlessly. Doesn’t dock well. It recharges constantly, stopping jobs incessantly to go back to the dock, and literally does a barely competent job of vacuuming. What I think is most painful about this item though, is that the software/app which accompanies the robot, or which is designed to work with the robot, is actually terrible. It actually contains less useful information than the original product from Roomba, is harder to use, and is less reliable. The failure of this machine is actually impacting my marriage. My wife has OCD and will sweep even when the floor has been vacuumed by a robot that is competent. But she will vacuum less when the robot works well. Since this is a useless machine, she is having to sweep our entire floors for what seems like an eternity to get them squeaky clean. Do not buy this. I would give this zero stars if I could. Buy another machine, preferably from another brand, if you can find a decent one. But do not waste money on this. ... show more

I like this new Roomba very much; I would give it 5 stars if it weren't few a few problems. When I first got the Roomba, I did a test clean after having it map out my house. It did a very good job, but when it was done it didn't empty the bin like it was supposed to. I called iRobot tech support and they degermed that for some reason the bin and Roomba weren't talking to each other like they should. So, the tech support sent me a replacement. When the replacement got here, I set it up and all seemed to be good and I setup a schedule cleaning for Tue, Thurs, and Sunday at 9 am. Then at about 1 am I woke up to the sound of a vacuum running. I'm what is going on the Roomba shouldn't be running yet. But I got and sure enough it was cleaning at 1 o'clock in the morning, 8 hours before it was schedule to clean. Then 9 am rolled around and the Roomba didn't start at 9 like it was supposed to. So, I called iRobot tech support again. After doing some trouble shooting, they decided to send me another replacement. So, the new one showed up and it too was starting 8 hours ahead of schedule. So, I called again, and they said they were going to move it to a higher-level tech. I said OKAY and waited to hear from the new tech, and they sent me an email telling me that this is a known software bug and that the software engineers are working on a fix. And then after that they would just send me emails that my ticket would close after 7 days if they didn't hear back from me. I tried asking if there was an ETA on when this fix would be ready and they couldn't give me a timeline. So, it works great, and I really do like it but just know if you one and you schedule is off the offset is 8 hours. So, if you want it to start cleaning at 9 am you will need to set your schedule 8 hours ahead of time. so for 9 am set the schedule for 5 pm. We do have a German Shepard who sheds a lot, and the iRobot does a good job of picking up the fir. As for now if you don't mind setting the schedule off by 8 hours until the software team gets the time bug worked out I do recommend this iRobot, it really does a great job. ... show more

I've only used the Roomba for three days, but I'm already impressed with how convenient it is. I wasn't sure what to expect since this is my first time using a robot vacuum, but it's been really easy to set up and use right out of the box. It does a great job picking up everyday dust (see pics), crumbs, and hair, things I didn't even notice before. I don't have pets, but I still fell like my floors are noticeably cleaner. It moves smoothly around furniture and gets into corners better than I thought it would, check out the pics. I also like that it returns to its charging station on its own when it's done, it did it once during a scheduled cleaning, and the maps of cleaning is super helpful on the app. Did I mention, I can schedule it on my app, picks zones (rooms) and give different schedules. It does the mapping once and it gave an accurate map the very first time. One thing that stood out is how much time and effort it saves. Instead of dragging out a vacuum every day, I can just let Roomba run while I do other things. It's not very loud either, which was a nice surprise. Even in just few days, I can see how helpful it's going to be for keeping my place clean with minimal effort. If you've never tried robot vacuum before, this is a great way to get started and you don't have to clean behind it, it auto dumps into a collector (check pics).
