  • A Surprisingly Comfortable Big Screen Experience
Color: Blue
I decided to try these AR glasses out of curiosity and they work as expected. The viewing experience feels similar to having a personal screen in front of me. The image is clear enough for watching videos and browsing content. I mainly use them for casual viewing and light gaming. They are lightweight and do not feel heavy on my face. I can wear them for a reasonable amount of time without discomfort. Setup with my phone and computer was straightforward. I like that I can watch content without using a TV or monitor. The glasses stay in place well during normal use. The experience is consistent and does not feel distracting. They are useful when I want some privacy while watching videos. The design is simple and blends in without standing out too much. Audio and visuals stay aligned during playback. I find myself using them occasionally instead of other devices. Overall, they do what they are supposed to do and meet my expectations. ... show more

  • Rokid Max AR2 Glasses First Impressions. Very impressive and worth the investment
Color: Black
My first impressions of the Rokid Max 2 AR Glasses. Why I purchased the Rokid Max 2 is because it is designed to deliver a high-quality augmented reality experience, so I would like to highlight what I think makes it stand out. Key Features of the Rokid Max 2 AR Glasses High-Resolution Display: The Rokid Max 2 features a 1080p resolution per eye, which is pretty impressive for AR glasses, in my experience it has crisp, clear visuals that do not disappoint. The glasses also offer a 53° field of view, which is great for immersion. While there are other options with a higher degree field of view I found this to be more that adequate. Immersive AR Experience: The glasses are designed for an immersive AR experience, letting you interact with virtual content overlaid in your real-world environment. It is refreshing and in my opinion blends nicely between the two. I found It’s great for any media consumption like YouTube and other streaming services, gaming, and productivity which I plan to use a lot for work situations. Portable and Lightweight Design: Unlike some other AR glasses that can feel bulky, the Rokid Max 2 is relatively lightweight, I think making it more comfortable for long periods of use. Its sleek, modern design looks less like “tech goggles” and more like a stylish wearable. I feel a valuable advantage when comparing to Meta or Apple products. Compatibility with Multiple Devices: It supports both Android and iOS devices, and it also has USB-C connectivity, making it versatile across multiple platforms. It’s compatible with smartphones, tablets, and even some PCs, giving users lots of flexibility. I have tested it with my iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPad Pro, and MacBook with impressive results. Large Screen Projection: One of the key selling points is the ability to project a massive virtual screen—equivalent to a 120-inch display at a distance of 4 meters. This makes it ideal for watching movies or playing games on the go. I have yet to travel with it, but plan to next week. Privacy & Portability: Being able to experience a large virtual display in a relatively small pair of glasses gives the user a private, immersive experience wherever they are. This will fit nicely in your backpack to complement other gadgets I have to work with this like a compact travel keyboard and mouse. Audio Integration: The Rokid Max 2 comes with built-in speakers, eliminating the need for separate headphones. This is great for watching media, though you might still prefer to use your own high-quality audio gear for specific situations. For me, I have tried both my over the ear Sonys and newest AirPods Pro 3 that are much better but good to know you have a decent stand alone option and found the audio from the glasses to be good enough for most situations. Albeit not as private so prefer my own headphones in a public place like a coffee shop. Simple Setup: No complicated installation or setup process—just plug in, and you’re good to go. That’s a big plus for people who want a plug-and-play AR experience. So in summary, do I feel this is a worthwhile investment with so many new products coming to market. I do however feel the Rokid’s are best for enjoying content and I have a kickstarter order in for the AR glasses and is really for a different use case. So if you are like me, I always will choose the best tool for the job. I feel these Max 2 ARs are very much worth the investment with little trade off to more expensive modules and packs a lot of value for the price. ... show more

  • I have found I use these more than I thought I would
Color: Blue
It is a nice product. I got them on a great sale. I use it with my legion go also with my main rig when I’m to lazy to move lol. I use the Groovis WiFi with it and connect wireless. It works really well even with 3d games and movies. Over all I would say if you ca get them on sale go for it. The only thing I would like to see more of are the nose pads. Like the ones they send are either up to high or they slide down my nose and it becomes to low and there is no in the middle. ... show more

  • Not AR- absolute scam
Color: Blue
False advertisement. This is not an AR headset nor does it have any Augmented Reality capabilities. Buyer beware- I am no stranger to AR and VR having several headsets. I had heard good things about a new up and comer Rokid and decided to give them a try, sadly it's the most disappointing headset I have purchased. To be clear I got the rokid max headset, the rokid station and rokid hub. Let's begin The rokid hub is useless, not only is it not usable with the rokid station which has its own power port, it will not work with my phone, I have a rugged armored phone (no case it's all built in) and as such the USB-C will not reach to the phones port- poor design Rokid station- the rokid station is of poor design, small battery at 5000mah smaller than a cheap power bank, it is not compatible with many apps, the power button is on the side and easily bumped in a pocket turning it off mid use- worse their own Rokid app which claims to hold the keys to the headsets AR functionality is not compatable with it and will not install from Google Play. It's marketed as the compatability fix for connecting to any device- however that is only in the way of you can cast from a device to it and then it shunts that cast to the headset- any phone can do this. However it's not even good as a phone substitute- it has no sim card slot so only works on WiFi so good luck using it on the go- likewise or has very little inbuilt storage so you can't even store significant video on it for offline use. It's basically got the inner workings of an old iPod pretending to be the fix for compatibility and portability. Rokid Max headset- where even to begin? It is only a wearable screen- that is all it does- if you want a poorly functional video screen strapped to your face like a high faluting Google cardboard then this is for you. However if your expecting any AR or VR functionality your going to be sorely disappointed like I am. It has no control interface- no cameras in or outward facing for eye or head tracking, no hand tracking gesture controls, only 3 buttons which control volume and power, nor does it have any means of connecting to a Bluetooth controller of its own right. (With the station you could potentially connect something via Bluetooth or use the station as a remote to navigate video streaming but as it cannot do anything else why would you bother?) But for what just the headset can do on its own- nothing no controls, no Bluetooth, no wifi, only corded access via C cable. This is by far one of the absolute worst stand alone headsets I have ever used and is completely useless without the $200 station which only lets you stream video. For a $400+ retail headset that's an absolute joke and is a con to those wanting to dip their toes into the emergent AR market- products like this damage the entire industry by having people try them as their beginner set and being so dissatisfied they will be slow to try another more expensive headset. I have reached out to the Rokid support to see what they have to say but I don't have high hopes beyond offer of a refund. I will update this review as things progress with Rokid support- **** Update**** Been back and forth with support- which was just awful, I don't think I've dealt with support with that bad of customer service before. They started by insulting my intelligence and asking me if I understood the difference between AR, VR, and Ai and explained more of their customers do not understand the difference. After providing them with the definitions of each they simply responded that it is infact AR because they say it is, despite actually being just a HMD (head mounted display) they then told me if I don't like it to go through Amazon for a return while refusing to explain to me why they are still selling a product they no longer support with their own application which is required for much of the supposed features to function besides to say application functions are not covered by their warranty. In the end their representative Cecilia recommended I purchase from another company if I actually want AR glasses as even their higher end ones don't fit the accepted definition of what AR is- Again I must reiterate- this is a head mounted display- not AR- it's is only AR in name as that is the buzzword they printed on the packaging! AR by right of them calling it AR despite not having AR functionality. Look at the good reviews- if all you want is a head mounted display it's not half bad if that's all you want- I might even go so far as to say it's pretty good for a HMD if only it had built in Bluetooth or a micro SD slot for offline use- but the terrible customers service is enough to convince me to go with a better company/manufacturer Do yourself a favor and get a better headset- one that is actually AR- because despite the advertisements for it this one has absolutely no AR functionality- and the company has rude, and downright insulting customer service representatives. Thanks for reading and happy holidays! ... show more
