  • Happy to try new stuff!
Color: black
The media could not be loaded. I was very skeptical at first. I didn’t think AR spatial could be good enough to match the high price. But I’m glad I finally took the plunge and bought these. Thanks to the pre-order, I also got a complimentary gaming controller. With the controller, I can fully immerse myself in any game. The video quality is excellent and the detail is close to what you see on a large TV. With the 120hz refresh rate, everything feels buttery smooth. But do note to remove all protective films to improve heat dissipation. Pay special attention to the cooling vents on the back of Station2. Continuous use for 2+ hours is not recommended, since both the glasses and the Station2 device can get very hot during long sessions. ... show more

  • Go ahead and take the plunge - its worth it!

Overall Impression: This combo marks a significant milestone for Rokid. As a long-time user of their products, I can confidently say the hardware has always been exceptional, but the software experience has sometimes lagged behind. With this setup, that has changed. The new Yoda Master software is reliable, consistent, and has been beautifully optimized for touch input and spatial control with the Spatial 2. This feels like an "inflection point" for the company, delivering a truly polished and reliable user experience right out of the box. Key Features & Use Cases: Portable and Versatile Display: This device has been a game-changer for my daily routine. Shared Spaces: I've used it as a secondary display in my basement, allowing me to watch my own shows while my spouse uses the main TV. We can be in the same room without disrupting each other. Commuting: The "motion mode" is designed for use on the go, and it works flawlessly on my 20-minute train ride. The virtual screens remain stable and don't jitter, making for a smooth viewing experience. Portable Office: I can now leave my laptop at home. By pairing the glasses with a Bluetooth keyboard, I have a fully portable office setup. Apps like Google Docs run smoothly, and the multi-screen function (see "Favorite Feature" below) is perfect for productivity. Audio & Visuals: Favorite Feature: My favorite feature is the ability to display three virtual screens side-by-side. You can customize the size of each window, from a massive ultra-wide to a narrow, phone-style orientation. I personally prefer the narrow, phone-style windows as I can have three in my field of view at once. This is perfect for multitasking. Immersive Media: Using a combination of apps like Spotify and Kindle is a dream for relaxation. Listening to music while reading a book in a private, virtual space is a truly immersive and peaceful experience. I also enjoy using the Loona app for puzzles. On-Glasses Speakers: The built-in directional speakers are surprisingly good—they are loud and clear. For casual listening, they're excellent. However, if you're looking for a cinematic experience with deep bass, you will need to pair a set of Bluetooth headphones. Areas for Improvement & Notes: App Compatibility: While most apps like Google Docs work without a hitch, I have encountered an issue with the Microsoft Outlook app where it fails to retrieve my login information after restarting the device. The easy workaround is to simply use the web-based version of Outlook, which works perfectly. DRM Limitations: This is a key point for media consumers. While the device works with most major DRM-protected apps (like Netflix or Prime Video) after a simple software update, you are "locked in" to using a single DRM app at a time. This means you cannot use the three-screen setup with these apps, which is a bit of a letdown. You must use the single-screen "theater mode" for these services. Comparison with Apple Vision Pro (AVP): I also own the Apple Vision Pro, but I find myself reaching for the Rokid combo more often, especially for daily use. Discretion & Comfort: The Rokid glasses are much more discreet, lightweight, and comfortable to wear for extended periods. The AVP is bulky and attracts a lot of attention, making it impractical for use on a train or in public. The weight of the AVP also causes fatigue. Practicality: The Rokid combo handles common, everyday scenarios better. The AVP's cameras struggle with tracking in low-light environments (who wants to relax after working and commuting all day with the ambient lighting in the room at 100%?), and its hand tracking can be frustrating when you're simply eating or folding laundry; essentially, doing anything other than sitting perfectly still. Final Verdict: If you're on the fence about this purchase, I highly recommend it. While it's not a perfect device—it has its quirks like the DRM limitations—the overall experience for the price point is incredibly satisfying. This combo delivers on its promise of a seamless, portable, and versatile spatial computing experience, making it a fantastic tool for both productivity and entertainment. ... show more
