This is a nice mattress protector. I bought this to replace my old one that I accidentally melted by throwing it in the dryer hot. I was sad because I had spent close to $80 on that protector. I thought I would give this one a try. It was pretty cheap and it looked okay. And I am very happy I gave this one a chance. It's unexpectedly comfy and soft. Although I do think it's a little misleading because it doesn't "cool" you. Instead, it does not retain heat. This is one of the biggest selling points (IMO). The reason for this is because I've found that cooling ones are well... sort of cold. Especially in the summer months when I love to blast the a/c. All in all, this is a great deal for a mattress protector.

Important to note, this pad isn't "cool". You aren't going to feel a sensation of cool underneath you. If you're looking for that, there are blankets and comforters right here on Amazon that really do that, but this isn't that. Instead, it simply doesn't hold in all the heat, and it turns out that's exactly what we needed. Even though the barrier is clearly liquid resistant, this pad appears to offer significantly better air flow than other protective mattress pads that have a solid plastic barrier. I could tell a difference before I ever went to sleep the first night, just relaxing on our bed. It was a comfortably warm like you would expect to feel where ever you've been sitting, but I realized immediately it was much cooler than the mattress pad we've been using for quite awhile. We have not spilled anything yet, so I can't attest to how well that part will work, but it feels like it will protect well when a spill happens. It is very generous in size! If your mattress is not tick, you might want to gather and clip the corners. If you have the thickest mattress out there, this is very likely to fit. Ours is 13 inches and this pad is still generous. Our sheets fit tightly so this pad doesn't bunch up or move at all. The size was a non issue for us once we got sheets on, but we did notice. I saw some other reviewers complained about that. It's a problem you can solve for under $10 with some bedsheet clip straps. If you want to compare your issue to ours, read on: My husband sleeps HOT! I was also sweating, but not to the extent he was. We have been telling doctors that he has a severe night sweat problem and worried about what might be causing it. He would literally wake up soaked from head to toe, dripping sweat, sheets soaked multiple times per night. We are pleasantly shocked to learn it was our mattress pad the whole time! We have had this new mattress pad on our bed for 4 nights and we are sleeping much cooler! We had two blankets we were using before; one was cotton and the other was synthetic because the dog's nails destroy the cotton blankets. We removed both of those and now use just our cotton top sheet and I use a smaller blanket that only covers me. We have a Zinus memory foam mattress. It is so comfortable and solved so many pressure and pain issues we experienced from sleeping on a spring mattress. We sleep more deeply, and wake up feeling significantly better every day for years. Life-altering. I bought a very protective mattress pad because we tend to hang out in our room and occasionally have a nasty spill of something destructive like iced tea. As we've become desperate to solve my husband's extreme night sweats, I read that the problem is sometimes caused by non-spring mattresses because memory foam doesn't allow air to flow. Eeeeeek! I can't imagine going back to a spring mattress. But it got me thinking...air flow. We've got a limited air flow mattress completely covered in a waterproof pad. So a combination of changes solved our issue, but the primary factor was the mattress pad and this one is working great for us.

I have tested this mattress proctroer to put wine on my bed and sadly to say it is not very effective, material is very thin that it does not absorb liquid items rather it goes to my mattress. At this price point I would not recomand this
