This protector actually proved to be waterproof, not just resistant. It was a little less urine-proof but still more than enough with a pad underneath. The elastics are strong and easily hold place. A topside-only protector is a waste of money.

This water resistant sheet does resist water well. I utilize this sheet underneath another sheet and it is taut enough where you cannot notice that there are two sheets on the bed. I have noticed that after sleeping on the sheet for multiple days, it does need to be put back onto the mattress again because it slides off easy due to how tight it is on the bed. Only the top layer is made out of the water resistant material. The sides are made out of a thin mesh material which can rip easily if it gets caught on anything. Since the sides are made of a mesh material, I fear that a spill on the edge of the bed would go into the mattress. Even though I have not slept on this sheet directly, I would imagine that it would be comfortable because it is soft and malleable. Other sheets that are water resistant can have a stiff crinkly feel to them, and this one does not. ... show more

I purchased this last minute when I found out my dog sitter was bringing her tiny floof over to house sit with our dogs. She’s told us several times about how her dog likes to hop up on the bed and pee. The mattress protector is water resistant to the small amount of fluid that I split on it but I didn’t do a thorough test of it. I wanted to make sure this mattress protector was quiet and not like the old school crunchy ones. The mattress protector is really soft and makes no noise. I would say after laying on it that it’s not very breathable but I think that is a given with this type of product. I have a memory foam mattress with a pillow top cover that makes it difficult to find sheets that fit well but this mattress protector fit like a glove. I will say I have not washed it yet but it seems like a great bargain for the price and quality. ... show more

After many many washes it is standing up for being durable. Even though it is water proof it still has some breathability to it and not too hot for sleeping comfortable. The fit on a twin mattress that has deep sides is perfect. Snug and not too tight to risk tearing it. Even though it isn't to be bleached the stains still come out with regular soap and cold water wash on gentle. Doesn't require a second fitted sheet on top. This is one of the best mattress protectors I’ve ever purchased and used so far, and it’s incredibly cost-effective! I’m now regretting the UTOPIA protector I bought a few months ago on Amazon. I saw UTOPIA has the most reviews so purchased it, but it was just okay so a few days ago when I found this on sale, I tried this brand - so worth it!! Compared to UTOPIA, this one fits the mattress more snugly, and the built-in waterproof layer seems more durable. Most importantly, this one is also cheaper - truly a great value for the price.
