Let me start and say - I’m not a firm believer in robot vacuums. Our last vacuum was a Eufy and it was an exceptionally “dumb” robot. It would bounce around our house and get stuck on cords or in a tight corner about 75% of the time. I decided to give the MS1 a shot, as the LIDAR(light detection and range) feature was intriguing. Unboxing was standard. The robot itself, a microfiber mop pad, an extra mop pad, a cleaning/cutting tool for the vacuum, an extra vacuum bag, an extra hepa filter, a self emptying/charging base station, and a remote control. Ok, all standard stuff. I was VERY happy to see that the robot uses the Smart Life app(I have like 8 smart switches on this app and it has excellent automation/support). Syncing with the app was easy and it had a tutorial via the app. Now for the moment of truth: start up. The app explained that the MS1 needed to start a mapping clean cycle. I started the clean and watched the robot get to work. This is where the real magic happens, I know this sounds absurd, but it’s real: the robot started to draw a high def map of every little corner, toy, wall, door, piece of furniture….right before my eyes on the app. I was stunned at the level of detail this thing was mapping. It knew where it was at all times and put a little blue location dot on the map of the house. Mind absolutely blown. Once the mapping was complete, it started to clean. It literally did a grid pattern on the selected room(you could see where it has cleaned on the app). This thing is absolutely unbelievable, and I attribute most of this to the LIDAR and excellent software. The battery life seems solid, our house is 3000sq ft and it can complete a full clean(although I suspect that it might degrade with age, which is normal). You select/draw red “exclusion” zones where the robot will not go. You can select single or multiple rooms for the robot to vacuum(it names rooms numerically) or draw an area for the robot to clean. It’s insanely cool. The robot knows where the base station is and will return to recharge and suck out its collection into the base station. You have many settings in the app - one of those is to select how often to empty the robot into the base station(I have it on every 2nd cleaning). I have not tried the mop functionality yet because of wood floors but it seems very intuitive and you can also select where to apply mopping or just vacuum on the map. There is a water reservoir under the trash collection bin and the microfiber pad is what “mops”. I think this device is a vacuum first and foremost and the mop is a nice added feature, but the “smart” vacuum is where it shines. Never thought I would write a raving review about a vacuum but here I am, and I’m truly blown away by this gadget. 10/10 recommend.

The most impressive feature is the Lidar smart navigation, which helps the robot vacuum accurately map the house and maneuver precisely around obstacles. The application helps customize the robot vacuum to my preferences and helps operate it easily. I also like how the robot vacuum is well-designed with detachable parts and accessories, making regular maintenance very convenient. Additionally, the robot vacuum helps clean the tight areas below the bed with powerful suction, rather than sweeping manually. It was impressive to see how the robot vacuum managed to maneuver and rarely bump into furniture legs. It also effectively removes hair and dust from the floor. For mopping, leaving the mop pad muddy the entire time would make a mess, which was what happened for my test run. I recommend vacuuming first, then mopping only. During mopping, pause the robot and wash the mop pad manually once in a while for best results. The self-emptying feature cleans most debris from the deck box, which helps prevent exposure to dust clouds. One minor suggestion would be adding a zipper to the dust bag, making debris disposal easier. Overall, I am very satisfied with my first robot vacuum cleaner. The robot vacuum handles the cleaning by itself, and a little assistance might needed for mopping. The Monsga MS1 Max is offering a great price, and its performance exceeds my expectations.

I honestly haven't tried the mop function. I use a steam mop for the few areas that I do mop and there's not a robot out there that does steam cleaning. With that said, this thing far exceeds my expectations. I bought it to replace a Shark Matrix that I couldn't stand because the app kept hanging. Like from day one and 300 updates of the app, the Shark app never worked right. The LIDAR on this made a very accurate map, setting up the "do not go" zones was a piece of cake, and the thing does a great job. I have it set on the Turbo Clean mode since we have 2 dogs that shed, and it runs daily. I'm asking it to do about 1200 sq feet of flooring. It does have to stop and charge half way, but it starts at 10:00am daily and it stops by about 3:30 with it's last cycle. The only negative (be prepared) is that when it does dock to empty itself and recharge, the emptying sounds like an Airbus A-320 just fired up the engines in your living room. IT's LOUD. Cleans well though, cleans thoroughly, and I've been using it for about 3 months now. It has developed a small squeak in one wheel that I need to address. It will also periodically tell you it needs to be cleaned, and tells you what does need cleaning or replacing. It does a great job with dog hair, human hair does tend to get tangled in the brush, but I pick that up in a monthly service.

We’re really happy with our purchase of the MONSGA Robot Vacuum! Setup was incredibly easy, less than 10 minutes from unboxing to running. I downloaded the app, connected the vacuum without any issues, and it was ready to go. You don't NEED the app to run it but it is very useful. It charges pretty quickly and I would say it could probably go through two cleaning spurts on one charge for our home. It takes about an hour to clean our 1,000 sq ft home, and it does a really great job picking up dust and debris. I was pleasantly surprised by how thorough it is. It navigated complicated areas very well. The noise level is a bit louder than I expected, but since this is our first robot vacuum, I don’t have a point of comparison. That said, it’s not obnoxiously loud at all, I was even able to take a nap while it was running. The mopping function is a little quieter, which is nice. Overall, we’re very happy with it and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable and effective robot vacuum.
