  • Excellent Choice In A Reasonably Priced Robot Floor Cleaner
Color: Black01
This review is for the Roborock QV3a. After hearing my brother-in-law rave about his robot vacuum, I hesitantly bought this. I was hesitant because I had purchased one many years before, and it had been virtually useless. It only vacuumed, was loud with minimal suction, banging its way around and it constantly got clogged with debris and eventually ended up at Goodwill. This vacuum does a wonderful job both vacuuming and mopping, competing with models that cost three times as much. After creating four different maps, the first map, map with the 1st floor family room, kitchen and dining room room all on one level, I segregated an area of the kitchen that gets very dirty after cooking, to allow me to do a daily vacuuming and mopping of this area. The second map included a living room off of our raised entry hall. The third map included the raised tiled entry hall. The fourth map included the second level of the house, including three bedrooms and a large balcony. We have biweekly housekeeping, so most of yhe areas of the house, including a carpeted living room, tile entry hall, living room, 4 bedrooms and balcony, only require vacuuming as needed, often once in the week we don’t have housekeeping. After completing a cleaning of the whole house I was very impressed. It thoroughly cleaned including under furniture picking up an amazing amount of dust bunnies. Our regular vacuum did not fit under dressers, couch, couches, etc. Mopping the tile areas resulted in very clean floors. I did established some no go areas to keep the vacuum from hitting areas with a large number of cords. I also created no go areas under the beds and a couple dressers. Avoiding these areas, greatly speeds up the cleaning process. It is easy to establish no go areas. I can delete them a couple times a year to clean under furniture. I also put up an invisible line on the railing in our balcony, the robot did not see this as a wall, and it would feel its way along the railing, greatly slowing the cleaning process. The robot does seems to learn each time it cleans finding a more efficient way to clean. I also found that moving the chairs away from the dining room table slightly allowed the robot to clean under the table much faster. Our family room has a very large area rug in it with hardwood floors throughout. The robot was able to identify the rug area, mopping/vacuuming hardwood floors and vacuuming the area rug. The app is very intuitive easily allowing the establishment of no goes zones or invisible walls. To clean, simply restore the map for the area you want to clean, select the area you want to clean, and choose your cleaning mode of mopping, vacuuming, or both. It is very simple to use. When done the robot empties the dirty water, cleans the mopping pads, and empties the dust bin. I am very happy with my purchase. For anyone that wants to purchase a cleaning robot without spending $1000 or more, this is an excellent choice. Update: after over 30 hours of use I am still pleased with this robotic floor cleaner. Use daily to keep kitchen tile floor vacuumed. Mop cycle cleans tiles as well as a mop using highest water setting. Also great for cleaning hardwood floor and carpet. Great value for the price. No problems to report. Buy one! ... show more

  • Squeaky clean floors, solved issues I had with vacuums of the past.
Color: Black01
I love this thing. My floors have never been cleaner. The device is easy to set up and even easier to use. I have been using robot vacuums for the last 20 years, from Roomba to Neato, and keep them forever. I have only owned three others total and have appreciated the upgrades that came with each generation. I loved my Neatos, but when they got bought off I had to look for a other brand. Roborock was recommended online due to its customer service and reliability. I have been wanting a model that self empties, and of course mopping seemed like a distant fantasy. I bought this on sale at the right time, got the best of both worlds and have not regretted it! My main challenges over the years have been that the dustbin fills up too fast with pet hair, and the devices seem to get stuck in tricky corners or between the walls and certain furniture. I have essentially had to babysit the vacuums in the past which really doesn't lend itself to effortless cleaning. This was easy to set up and connect to the app, and, the initial mapping was super fast, I think it took 5 minutes on each floor of the house. You can let it do its own thing using AI cleaning mode if you don't like to mess with settings, but it has a lot of options to customize your cleaning routine, and has pre built routines for common needs like "after meals" which would vacuum and mop your kitchen and dining room. The good thing, is that it has a smart AI mode which adjust the settings based on your cleaning history and dirt levels. So if you like simplicity, you can literally just walk over to it, hit the clean button, and let it dunits thing. The app is great, but if you don't like apps, you can just use the buttons on the machine for simplicity. It has one for clean and one for dock. The docking is fantastic by the way, and I never had an issue with it not being aligned right. I've solved my pet hair overflow issue by setting a routine that deep vacuums wash room then empties before moving on to the next one. After that routine is done, I have one for deep mopping that I run. The default vacuum+mop mode that runs might be the fastest, but isn't the best at cleaning or for the machine if you have more than very light dirt. It vacuums and mops at the same time, which wets the pads and dirt that the vacuum head doesn't pick up, and on the next pass, it sucks up the wet dirt. This causes it to cake in the vacuum nozzle, and needs to be cleaned out periodically. The mop pads will also drag hair until it gets to carpet then leave a trail. I feel that daily mopping is overkill in my house, so I stick with having it just vacuum, then mopping once a week or more where it's needed after vacuuming. The mopping quality is great but be careful to just use plain water, or cleaners formulated for vac mops. It sits in the machine and goes through pumps, so many cleaners and concoctions can ruin and corrode the parts of you aren't careful. My floors literally squeak when you walk on them after cleaning. They have never done that even with manual mopping. Only if I get down and scrum and rinse by hand. I have a lot to say about how great this machine is and could go on forever. I'm hopeful Roborocks reputation for longevity holds up. Getting this is the next best thing to having someone clean for you. It really is worry free and doesn't require babysitting once you get it set up. You should still pick up cords and larger debris before running it, but it does a good job at avoiding obstacles and not eating socks. I highly recommend you get this if you are on the fence, especially of it's on sale. ... show more

  • INCREDIBLE!!!
Color: Black01
This is without a doubt the best purchase I've made on Amazon in years. We have 2 dogs (husky and aussie) and 1 cat. Our house is 1200 sqft. Not gonna lie, I love our pets - but every morning for years I wake up just pisssseeeeddddd haha because no matter how hard we try, theres fur everywhere. It seems impossible to feel clean when theres fur everywhere and occasional dirty pup feet from outside that tracks dirt into the house. We have a Dyson, we vacuum every day, mop pretty regularly. We do everything we can. It's so much maintenance to just feel clean haha. I have a recording studio (with lots of wires), my wife has a craft room (with lots of doo-dads everywhere). This fixed everything. I literally can't believe it. IT. JUST. WORKS. Unbelievable. The app is great. Super impressed, it maps the house in no time. The vacuum, vacuums. The mop - MOPS! Before you let'er rip, just do a quick run thru of the house. Get cables / wires out of the way, pick up some stuff, put chairs up etc. Outside of that, you'll never have to think about it. It's quiet. It does the job. I'll never have to think about vacuuming and mopping ever again. This will be running every single day. So unbelievably happy with this. Battery life is great, cleans up pet hair, mops dirt off the hardwood, it knows not to mop the rugs / carpet automatically, if you have a weird layout of a house and need to pick it up and plop it off somewhere, it knows exactly where it is on the map automatically and continues where it left off. It cleans itself, the app is great, and you can get it set up in a few minutes. Need I say more? They literally thought of everything. This is how a product should be. Thank you roborock!! haha ... show more

  • Firware and software so bad, I can't tell if the hardware is good or bad.
Color: Black01
I've had this unit for a bit over 8 months and it's junk. For context, this is a clean and well organized, ~2000 square foot, single level home, mostly hardwood and tile floors, with 2 adults, no kids, and a couple of very quiet cats who avoid the vacuum at all costs. Changes to the furniture layout are almost non-existent. This is not a challenging environment, and my $150 Eufy with no mapping ability did a fairly good job for years. This $450 piece of junk can't handle even one room unsupervised. The problem list is long, so buckle up: Let's start with the mapping: If you have a room with windows that reach the floor, like a sun room, it will get itself into an endless loop while mapping in that room and drive in circles until the battery dies, never completing the mapping. It apparently cannot use the bumpers that tell it there is glass there, and it endlessly tries to find a way outside. On the 4th attempt to get it to map (having to charge between each attempt) I finally got it to work after spending 20 minutes covering all the windows in the sun room with paper and old cardboard so it wouldn't get lost. Now, 8 months later, for no apparent reason (no changes to furniture was made other than moving a single dining table 3 feet to one side, it has corrupted the map and most of the house appears slightly rotated, and there are random walls in the wrong place. It is now skipping areas it used to cover, because it thinks there are walls there now, and it occasionally just gets lost and ends up stuck in a corner of a room it has cleaned before. That means I get to spend another 20 minutes digging cardboard out of the recycling bin and piling it in front of the windows so it can remap the house. Next: Cleaning modes! The default cleaning mode, "vac & mop" is *useless*, and I've heard the same from another owner. Ostensibly, it both mops and vacuums at the same time. It doesn't. Instead, it does neither, and just smears soggy dust bunnies around the floors and leaves them for you to pick up yourself. If you can actually get the bloody thing to use the correct settings, and clean the entire room, it does a pretty good job! Unfortunately that's about 50% of the time. This brings me to the app: It's a mess. I've attempted to change the settings for individual room cleaning modes so it will use the "Vacuum then mop" mode that actually works, and for whatever reason, it only saves these changes for about half the rooms, despite multiple attempts, an app reinstall, a map wipe and remapping, and firmware updates. I've attempted *repeatedly* to set it for the kitchen, for example, and yet I still have to change the cleaning settings every single time I run the vacuum, or it switches back to smearing soggy debris around. Sometimes, even if all the settings are correct, and it seems to start out correctly, at some point it just decides to ignore them and does it's own thing for no apparent reason, including skipping entire rooms, or only mopping one part of a room. The app is spectacularly unintuitive. There's apparently no way to change the default "whole house cleaning" settings permanently. It reverts to the useless vac & mop mode every time it runs, so I've never used it. I have to set a custom room cleaning, or build specific routines, which it manages to complete without skipping large chunks of the tasked area about half the time. The behavior of this thing is so erratic, I can only presume they've got a demented instance of Grok running the thing. I'd get more consistent and thorough results handing my 4 year old niece a broom and telling her to "go sweep the house", and that wouldn't cost me $450. She works for cookies and hugs. ... show more

  • Highest Recommendation
Color: Black01
I own three of these. One was used at my former home; the other 2 were purchased for my 3 level new home (basement, 1st flr, 2nd flr). "Are you crazy? Are you made of money? What a waste. You're lazy!" It could be that all of those are true. It could be that none of them are. I believe that none of them are. I work A LOT. And while I am infatuated with the ease of mopping with those manual "tornado" spin mops, I am also an automation freak. The older version (which is close to identical and uses the same parts -- which I still own and use) impressed me quite a bit as far as cleaning, vacuuming, mopping. It impressed me enough that when the other two went on sale, I purchased additional ones for this probably too large house. Total spend is probably $1,600 for all three over the course of 2-3 years. I also bought knock off replacement parts (filters, bags, mop heads) and they work great. Here's what you do to have a good experience: I don't run them on a schedule. I manually run them. This forces me to walk the house to make sure there are no dog accidents or unnecessary debris on the floor. My robots have never encountered dog urine or dog poop so I can't really say whether this device would identify and handle it. I think I would like to avoid testing out it's avoidance abilities in that regard. But, I do want to get rid of anything laying on the floor so dog beds go up on the couch, scale gets picked up and stuff like that. If you are going to vacuum and mop, try to vacuum and mop everything. Phone charging cords and the most likely culprit for getting tangled. Once I walk the house and see that there's an unobstructed path and everything has been picked up, then I run a cleaning cycle. You could choose a full cycle or just some areas or just some rooms. Useful if you work from home and do not want a robot in there. Works great. You can also define "No Go" zones on a map. Works great. (My gf has those really long pile area rugs that are like fake animal fur -- like the pile is wispy and 3" long -- and these do not play well with those rugs -- they get stuck every time. No Go allows us to clean everything and the robot avoids the rugs perfectly.) The bottom line is that you are the one with the brain, not the robot. Put the robot in a position to help you. Make the robot's job easy and you will be very happy. If you have pets or kids, DO NOT run it on a schedule Walk the house first. 1. Walk the area and pick up. 2. Check waste and water tanks and garbage bag and dump/fill if necessary; 3. Run it. 4. Dump/refill tanks so its ready to go the next time. I will often run basement, first floor and second floor at the same time. The layouts are complicated, but the robots have no problem. It rarely gets stuck. Occasionally, a magnetic mop pad will come loose, which is an easy fix. For the most part, these things run very quietly and they do a fantastic job. My basement is all tile and my workout room has thick rubber mats. The robot goes up and cleans the mats and cleans everything else very well. My first floor is wood floors plus tile and includes a laundry room a bathroom, kitchen, etc. Because the floor tile is that 'rough stone' texture, it does make a clicky clack sound, but it also does a very nice job of mopping and vacuuming. We have a couple of low pile rugs and there's never a problem with them or anything else on the first floor. The area and room features are usefull to vac and mop the kitchen area after food prep. The second floor has bedrooms with really old carpet and the rest is tile or wood floors. The vacuum picks up an unbelievable amount of legacy (before I bought the house) hair and dust out of those carpets. I mean, literally an unbelievable amount. Every time it runs, I will sometimes have to manually clean out the bin because of the volume of the hair. After the fifth or sixth cleaning, this is no longer an issue, but it still is pulling up so much legacy dog hair and dust. Quite impressive power. I run these weekly or in addition as needed with a small amount (table spoon or two or three) of liquid cleaner like Mr. Clean or Lysol and that seems to work very well. I'd avoid putting in a lot because you do not want internal parts to get 'gummy' or clogged. Overall, these are some of the best technology I've ever purchased. My oldest is maybe 3 years old and still runs perfectly. I look forward to using these for a long, long time. They save me probably 3+ hours per week. ... show more

  • First time Robot Vacuum owner's impressions
Color: Black
Roborock Qrevo S Pro: A Five-Day Odyssey to Clean Floors Let me start with the good news: unboxing and assembly were genuinely painless. We're talking maybe ten minutes from cardboard to the bot sitting on its dock looking proud of itself. Gold star there. Then came the maiden voyage. The Qrevo S Pro set off confidently to map my home and immediately face-planted on the one-inch threshold between my kitchen and hallway. Not a dramatic stumble, just a quiet failure that silently corrupted the entire scan. Here's the cruel irony: the app does let you designate thresholds on the map, and once you do, the bot handles them like a champ. The problem is you can't edit a map that doesn't exist yet, and you can't edit the map while the bot is actively building it. So that first run is almost predestined to fail. It's a chicken-and-egg problem that Roborock really should have solved by now, and it set the tone for the next several days. What followed was five days of troubleshooting that I can only describe as a slow-motion negotiation between me and a robot with strong opinions about how my house should work. I could only run one attempt per day, partly due to time constraints and partly because the bot needs a full charge cycle between attempts, so the feedback loop was... leisurely. The "Full Clean" mode was eventually abandoned entirely. I watched the bot finish vacuuming the bedroom, trundle back to base to wash its mops, and then head back toward the bedroom with damp pads and apparently no regard for the carpet designation I had painstakingly set. I wasn't about to find out what happened next. Hard pass. The fix was building a custom routine where I could explicitly tell it which rooms get vacuumed and which get mopped. That gave me the clean run I needed, though not without additional fiddling. Both bathrooms had to be NoGo Zoned because the rugs turned them into traps. The living room required map surgery because the bot was determined to explore behind the couches, get wedged in, and send me a very sad notification about it. All told, five days to dial in. Not ideal, but also not shocking given it's mapping and learning a real home with real furniture doing real things like existing in inconvenient places. Here's the thing though: I'm a robot vacuum first-timer, and once everything was configured, I'm genuinely pleased with the purchase. The cleaning performance is solid, the base station doing its mop-washing, drying, and dustbin-emptying routine is legitimately satisfying to watch, and knowing the floors are getting done without me is a quality-of-life upgrade I didn't know I needed. Whether the mapping intelligence is better or worse than the competition, I honestly can't say. Maybe other brands sort out the threshold and rug-detection issues more gracefully. Maybe they don't. What I can say is that once you make peace with the setup process and build your routine around its quirks, the Qrevo S Pro earns its keep. The setup will test your patience. The clean floors will restore it. ... show more

  • Excellent robot so far.
Color: Black
I’m a longtime robot vacuum user, starting with the roomba first gen. (Which I think I bought on Woot, remember that?). I eventually upgraded to the i7. The i7 also did a good job but my little grandkids were afraid of it, even to the point of nightmares. It was quite loud, and it also required monitoring for cords and things and a lot of maintenance since I had both dogs and cats. Since the kids spent a lot of time here, I got stopped using it and bought a Dyson. Which works but I still hate vacuuming. I don’t know why I hate that chore so much but I do. The kids are now older and robots have progressed. One that avoids obstacles and mops, vacs and is quiet sounded good to me. So Prime Day rolled around and now so does my Roborock. I’m so impressed with it. First, it is very quiet. My house is open floor plan but I can run it in the kitchen and watch TV and cannot even hear it. Even if it’s in the same room it is quiet enough to still watch. It avoids my many obstacles. My dogs leave toys around, my style is midcentury so everything is on legs. And I feel that if I have to run around and pick stuff up before setting it free, I might as well vacuum myself. Fortunately the lidar works well. It skips the dog, as well as the dog toy. One of my dogs play bowed when they first saw it and the other slept right through. (The older old roombas scared them too). The mopping function is great. I was afraid it would leave wet streaks crossing carpets but that has not happened. It didn’t come with a sample of cleaner and it seems pretty picky about what you use, so I mopped with just water. It does a good job and knows to stop at carpets edge. I bought the special cleaner and added that. The mapping function is much better than I’m used to, you can make it 3d or add furniture it’s quite clear where it’s been. Now for the app: it’s fairly intuitive if you’ve used these things before, but there are some issues. Minor ones, like the 24 hour clock not being changeable. I don’t know why we can’t switch from military time. There seem to be a lot of steps if you just want to vacuum one room. Unless I’m wrong, you have to enter the vac, go to the map, click on the room, change the type of cleaning and it doesn’t save, so I have to do that every time. To be fair, I have not watched any videos yet on it but to be even fairer, the Roborock doesn’t have an explanation, and I still RTFM. . I went to the FAQ to see if I could change from military time and got some strange answers. But I’m sure a YouTuber has it figured out. The big test will be when I show the grandkids, but I think their fear was mostly the sound. That won’t be an issue anymore. I’m glad I bought it. ... show more

  • We love Roborock Rocky
Color: Black01
We have had the Roborock Qrevo (our first robotic cleaner) for the past 6 months for our new 3500 sqft two level hardwood/carpet/rug home. It is better than a maid. We call him Rocky. He is fantastic. The app - which has been upgraded 2-3x since our purchase - is great. Place Rocky on the floor and let him laser scan the floor. You name all the rooms, tell him what surfaces are what, what direction even to vacuum/mop floors, how to handle the carpets, and even areas to avoid. You then program the days/times for Rocky to vac, mop, or both, and he automatically does his thing. He will avoid your feet. He learns how to go around dining room chairs. He goes under beds, couches, the oven, everywhere. Zero dust bunnies. He cleans basically every surface clean every time. The app allows you to follow his progress and notifies you of any issues. We vac/mop 3x a week. The floor surfaces look brand new. We have two maps: one upstairs, one down. We move it between floors, press the power button, Rocky figures out what floor he is on and starts cleaning. He returns to the same spot for you to carry it back upstairs. Then you either carry it back to its doghouse/dock or just press the dock button and Rocky heads home. Some comments. This "pet" likes to "eat" (get entangled in) cords and straps. The app tells you when he's stuck. It forces you to keep things off the floor. Had to connect the speaker cords to the underside of our couch. It will try to scrub around raised surfaces (speaker stands) and will create some noise. But we have looked at it no different than a dog. And one that cleans up after itself. Performance has been great, no crumbs. Mopped floors are great. It's so nice to arrive to a clean house. Highly highly recommended. ... show more
