It's a 5. It's a 5 because it was under $200 and it actually works. I've waited months to write this review to make sure there weren't longevity problems like there have been with other brands. After about 7 months of use the worst thing that's happened is that it requires occasionally disassembly of the rollers to dislodge something the cats pulled into its path. Here's what I like: * App works, and is easy to set up * Vacuum itself works very well with the fuzz of two cats * It has kept the entire living area free of cat litter crystals * It's mapping feature is amazing. It helps it avoid getting stuck. * It was easy to set up and start using * It works on hard wood floors, and low pile carpet (haven't tried anything else) * It very rarely gets stuck * It hardly uses a charge to clean the entire living area, and since it homes itself, there's no worries about charging At the price-point, I can't really think of any cons.

We've had one of the first model robot vacuums from the og manufacturer which has been a workhorse for us for years! It's the drunk uncle of robots though, no bells and whistles, just your basic robot that runs into everything but gets the job done in some random chaotic pattern. Seeing this on sale and finally just going for it to see how good newer models have gotten (no more separate virtual wall lazers, a nice easy to use app, no more bumping around clumsily!, and more). Well, long story short, they have gotten soooo much better and I'm incredibly glad I gave this one a try. It's is running flawlessly, cleans very well, i love the ease of the app and setting up no-go zones, and pretty much everything else has been an upgrade. Looking forward to many years of our new bot and a cleaner, less noisy, less drunk uncle of a bot around the house. (Don't worry, drunk uncle is still getting his time in down in the basement. He's old reliable at this point and will go as long as he wants to.) This is a great vac that performs wonderfully with all the functions and conveniences I need (i haven't tried the mopping function yet but didn't really buy it for that) at an incredible price point, esp when on sale. If you're looking to upgrade like I did, it's well worth it. If you're looking at your first robot and are unsure if it's something you really need.... trust me, get it. It will save you time, knock one thing off your million item to-do list, and will soon become something you are unsure why it took so long to try.

I'm a late adopter of robot vacuums. I had reservations. I picked this one up on a recommendation from a friend. I have a small dog that doesn't notably shed, a snort haired cat that sheds a little and a long haired cat that sheds like a cat sheds. Pros : * It does great picking up pet hair. Better than my Dyson, even, which is a high bar. * It has the right options for scheduling and customizing a clean. * Initial mapping is easy with one caveat below. It doesn't get easily stuck. * with an appropriate schedule and the maintenance below, it does a great job of keeping the floors clean. * I didn't get the auto empty model. With all the animals, emptying it once a week is enough and it's super easy and quick. Cons : * Weekly, I turn it upside down, take it apart, remove all the hair from moving parts, wipe the sensors and empty it. Everything snaps apart and together easily and it takes less than 10 minutes but that is way more often than I expected. That is because 1) If there is hair, it will get wrapped around something. There are two main 'brushes', a front wheel and a side brush that are all candidates for getting tangled up in hair. That is way more than the 'never' of my Dyson. 2) the sensors get dusty way more frequently than the recommended interval. 3) the app doesn't report if it's gotten clogged up by sucking up something it shouldn't have (like a cat toy) and sometimes I don't see that until I flip it over. * If you need to map a new area that is part of an existing map but was closed off during mapping, it's a bit clunky. You have to manual control the robot there so the space is recognized - but it still won't see it as a 'room'. So then edit the map to make it an off limits area, save, then edit again to remove the off limits area and then it sees a room and you can name it and use it). * It does not do well with clay litter on hard floors.. it just kicks it around. It does fine with litter on carpets or bare floors in general. * the Q5 alexa integration does not do everything it says in this listing. You can turn it on and off with alexa - that's it. You can't vacuum a specific room or run a routine through alexa. All of that functionality is reserved for later models. I need to check on it and maintain it a little more frequently than I thought and I can't automate it as well as I hoped but overall, I'm glad I bought it. With all of that, it still keeps the floors cleaner than if I have to pull out the vacuum and do it myself.
