The 4' x 8' Ice Equalizer Pillow relieves stress from the walls of your pool caused by ice. Ice Equalizer pillows also reduce the build-up of rain water, leaves and snow on your winter cover. All you have to do is inflate the pillow and place it under your cover during the winter months. Do not overfill the pillow with air, as this can cause the valve to pop out during the winter months.

Our pool guy advised us, some years ago, that we might prefer the vinyl covers for covering our in-ground pool for the winter, and he was right--we can literally swim two hours after we open, unlike all our neighbors who opted for the "walk-on" covers. The drawback to the vinyl surface-skimming covers is that they stretch over time, and you need a way to be able to create an airtight seal--which can be difficult if you have strange curves and steps. This is where these pillows work their magic! Filled with water, these pillows allow you to keep your vinyl cover tight and prevent any contaminants from seeping under it. It is as wide as standard pool steps, which is awesome. Simply lay the cover inside the area of your pool's steps, and over the vinyl cover. Then fill it, in place, with water--not completely, but enough to anchor it well and have it conform to the area you place it in---it will conform to the area perfectly, and leave your pool crystal clean and perfect the entire off-season. Nothing will blow these out of place or disturb them, and they won't move around, even if you get a strong rain and these end up submerged. They are tough, sturdy, well-made, and reliable.

Bought in October 2024. Close my pool right after I received them. They were fine for about a week then they lost all air.. Just opened my pool this week. Both were pillows plugs were still closed. One pillow was a quarter of the way filled with water. Not sure how the water got in. So I am out of 40+ dollars cannot get a refund because the refund window closed in December 2024 and I was not about to pull my pool cover off to get the pillows out to get for the refund. Hope this review helps somebody and figuring out whether they want to purchase this item or not.

I ordered the four pack (4x8) pool pillows. One went completely flat in less than 24 hours. I couldn’t find any damage to it. I contacted Robelle customer service, through their email I got from Amazon and I received a very prompt reply simply saying a replacement was being sent. It arrived in just 3 days. I would order their products again.

I didn't love the reviews but bought 4 hoping that at at least 1 or 2 would work for me. I inflated 3 with my air compressor, closed the air intake as best I could (these get warped by how they are folded for shipping so its not so easy) and then I placed them under my pool cover. One snowy day later and 2 of them are completely deflated while the 3rd is almost deflated and will be soon. Incredibly frustrating, I don't see how to keep my cover from getting absolutely covered in ice and water when these products don't work. I don't know what to do with them now as pulling them out and folding them up for return is going to be a pain and very time consuming. Don't get this product. I wish I had an alternative for you, maybe a bunch of exercise balls? Just don't get this product. Update: I contacted the company and they quickly replaced the deflated pillows. They also recommended trying less air than before. I tried that, and it has been working well this winter! I just wish these had more attachment points to tie to.

This is a standard pillow sold by Amazon as well as numerous pool companies. No information is provided on the thickness of the plastic, but it seems similar to other pillows I have purchased. I bought a two pack and the first one deflated by the next day. I found a small hole by the valve. As I did not want to repackage the product and send it back to Amazon, I contacted the company directly and they immediately send me another two pillows. By the time it arrived, the second pillow had deflated, but I could not find the issue. The second two pillows have been holding air, so perhaps there was a bad batch. Great customer support, but two out of two failures gives it a 3 rating

I can say this didn't even last a 4 month winter. On the corners where you tie it off to make it stay in the center of the pool ripped out. The pillow went flat I filled it back up and it went flat again. I do not recommend.

So so. Deflated within a couple weeks. Try something else. Unless you have time to air them up all the time.
