  • It helps!
Color: Blue
I humbly come before you as an individual with terrible ankles. As in, I'm not yet 30 yet I've had two ankle reconstructions because I cannot figure out how to walk. After this last one, I said enough is enough. I need to improve my balance and keep up with my PT exercises. I cannot have a surgery every few years! Into the realm of Amazon I went, looking for items similar to the PT equipment I knew well. One of the items that helped me the most are wobble boards. They work all the muscles in my legs, including small ones near my ankles. For me, I wanted a board I would modify. Sometimes you want to limit your movement to side-to-side for an exercise, like one legged balancing stands. Sometimes you want all directions in play to really test your balance. This was perfect! I like that I can stand at my desk, working on balance while reading (because I never do just one thing) and hopefully avoiding a surgery filled future. It is actually pretty comfortable to stand on, bare footed, for long periods of time. As to using the board for more advanced exercises (or that roller accessory that will really make it move), time will tell. For now I am focusing on the basics, taking it slow, and making sure I don't fall off. My ankles already feel stronger. ... show more

  • I love it and I can't stay off of it...I'm at ...
Ok enough delaying the inevitable...this board rocks; literally and figuratively!!! I love it and I can't stay off of it...I'm at my desk sitting right now and its under my feet...I'm balancing, albeit slightly, while on my butt. I've had it now for 10 days. So what makes this board different or better than the other boards? The design and the company. The Revolution FIT Board design, IMHO, is nearly identical to a skateboard or snowboard so a semi-retired boarder like myself can hop on it without much fuss. But if you are not a former boarder don't let that stop you; the design/cut of the board is more approachable than the woods you'll come across. It's wider and just sticky enough with or without shoes. With regards to the company; spot on...great product and great customer service. Background: I've got a torn meniscus due to T25/Insanity. Went to 3 Drs; MRI...etc. They all recommended Physical Therapy...but my Chiro went a step further and gave me a prescription workout, which was cool/handy. One of the reoccurring exercise themes is balancing and they call for and use the Bosu in their workouts. Which is fine I have one, but they also use a smaller Bosu and balance board. This is where I started digging. After trolling online for a while I went to local place that has a very, very good selection of crazy workout stuff. They had multiple balance boards there; the smaller Reebok one, the Indo, GoFit and TheraBand just to name a few. They had more but they sealed up/still in boxes. I spent a good half hour there; the longest I played with was Indo since it was the closest to what the video exercise list was using. I spent nearly 10 minutes on it; I have GymBoss on my phone and used it (I've spent a sh*t load of money there, they know I'm picky). The Indo board is fine I just didn't love it nor the cut/design...just reminded me of an old school desk. I ended up purchasing this thing site unseen and I haven't regretted it. I've used it since day 1. In fact the day after I got it I over did it and spent an hour on it. My hips were sore the next day. ... show more

  • A great balance board with few points for improvement
Overall, this balance board is well built, easy to use, and a lot of fun! Unlike some other balance boards, this one doesn't use a center rail on the bottom. That allows you to have a much more varied and interesting experience by switching among the included platforms, angling them differently, or trying to balance on virtually any surface. You can even try to hop the board to different angles on the platform you're using! The only downside to this is that sometimes after extended use some of the platforms will work their way off-center, and you may need to stop to reposition them. In my opinion, the more varied modes of play make his balance board far more entertaining, versatile, and challenging than alternatives with a center rail on the bottom. I only have come up with a few points for possible improvement: (1) The stationary half-cylinder and inflatable pad are a little short, so they don't give the freedom to balance at as aggressive angles as I'd like. That's fairly easy to fix by just putting them on some books or anything else solid, but it'd be nice if they just were a bit taller in the first place. (2) The half-cylinder platform is made of a sort of hard styrofoam that, while strong enough, is a little slippery and allows the board to slide out of the desired position occasion. (3) It might be nice if the plastic edges on the bottom that keep the cylinder from rolling out were made of a hard rubber. That might help prevent them from marking up your floor and make it bit quieter when you come down on one edge. That said, they do recommend that you only use the device on carpet -- probably more for safety. (4) It's priced at a bit of a premium relative to other boards that isn't really justified by the materials used or build quality. The bundling of varied platforms is nice, but in truth you could use a sanded piece of plywood to balance on anything. The styling / finish is nice though, so you have to consider how much that's worth to you. With all of that in mind, I'd say this is a great product that provides hours of fun while helping users improve their balance. I recommend it. ... show more
